Yep, it is finally up! Funhouse Express will be in the Paramount Action FX Theater and feature Jimmy Neutron. Nothin much else was mentioned besides that. There was a brief description of Headless Hollow and Massacre Manor.
-
I don`t think building Flight of Fear with the building first was an accident. That way, one the building was built, they could build the coaster on the inside and did not have to worry about weather holding things up. The one at Kings Dominion was built in the reverse order, coaster first, then building.
-
I`m sure they will have more attractions open thatn just the ones listed. Afterall that is still the test site. So there will be two movies in the Action FX Theater for FearFest this year??
-
So according to that site, Circus of Horrors, Maze of Madness, Psycho Path and Elivira will be back. Then new, or slight rethemes on the existing attractions are: Fun House Express (the former House of Darkness I presume, Massacre Manor (the white tent next to Paradise Island treats), and Headless Hollow (the old Curse of the Crypt spot). That leaves R.L. Stine`s Fear Street as the scare zone. Sound like fu!. Anyone know any details beyond what is on the site? The quality of the FearFest and Winterfest sites are really good with the flash animations and all!
-
Well I don`t have any insider information. But I have heard that next year kids will be ready to soak up the new fun in Nickelodeon Central with a new ride that will surely be a hit.
-
From what I have heard, one of the attraction that will be built could be fairly large in size, which makes me wonder why they are going to wait until January to start major construction. Also, don`t forget that there was is the possibility of a new ride in Coney Mall as well. It would be similar to what they did in 2003 with Delirium and Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle.
-
Yes, that is what I have heard also. That doesn`t allow much time for construction though!
-
Well, they already have the banners up in most of Rivertown, Nick and HBL. Also, on Labor day weekend, they had some early theming up in Coney Mall. The thing that I miss the most from FearFest 2002, is the amount of fog machines. In 2002, Coney Mall was littered with them, and the midway from Flight of Fear all the way down to Vortex was full of thick fog. That made for a very eerie feeling to the park. Not to mention the night I was there, natural fog had enveloped most of The Beast.

The reason PCW probably got IJST this year was its performance. PCW was the number 2 Paramount Park, just a few notches behind PKI. While PGA could have benefitted from the ride, they are in the process of building up their waterpark to attract more families. That being said, I would ot be surprised if within the next couple of years, that all 5 Paramount Parks didn`t have IJST, (although it may be known as slightly different names at each park).
-
Just curious, but why did you switch off of The Beast crew back to HBL? I for one did not think that any rides would close down before the end of the season.
-
I`ve actually seen billboards advertising jobs at PKI for FearFest and Winterfest. I think they are hiring in admission (now referred to as the "Box Office") for Winterfest. I am not positive though. The best way to find out is to make a visit to the park and speak with someone.
-
Two things. How does the FearFest site or lack thereof affect how much fun you have at FearFest? Also, how do you know if the site will have a nice atmosphere or not if you haven`t been to the site yet since it has yet to be launched?
-
Well, they could have had Flight of Fear open. But that ride will most likely be in the midst of its off season rehab, which is why it will not be open. That is also why they probably will not have TR:TR open (although I have heard that it may be undergoing more than just offseason rehab this winter). You will be able to ride the train, Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle and the two Carousels. It would have been nice if you could ride the Dodgems, like they did for WinterFest in 1992, but beggers can`t be choosers!
-
No announcement as of yet. I wouldn`t be surprised if we hear an announcement before the end of the month and before FearFest begins on the 1st of October. But I don`t have any insider information, so I really have no clue when to expect an announcement.
-
It`s called they are only in their office during normal business hours. And, you shouldn`t be bothering them with when they will finally get the FearFest website online. I`m sure they will put it online when they are fully ready to.
-
It is almost 5 now, and still no FearFest site. Things must be taking longer to finalize/build the site than expected.
-
Don`t forget the one perk that is good on any visit to the park, whether in April or October, the Gold Pass Reserved parking area! Definantly an excellent perk, as long as that lot is monitored (it is usually monitored until around 6pm most days).

I haven`t heard anything official, but I have heard that Scooby`s Ghoster Coaster, Dick Dastardly`s Biplanes, Quick Draw`s Railway, and possibly Baba Looey`s Buggies (handcars) and the Alley Cat 500 (kiddie whip) might be removed. These rides comprise what is known as the South Pie of Hanna Barbera Land. I sincerly hope that at least the kiddie whip and hand cars are spared, along with the motorized train cars. I could care less about the biplanes or Scooby`s Ghoster Coaster. Only time will tell what attractions PKI does indeed tear out. But from a capacity (and a nostalgic) stand point, I hope it is as few rides as possible.

I can`t wait to hear what they have in store! At least Kings Island updated their website saying they will reveal tomorrow. Kings Dominion`s website didn`t update and still says coming September 7th.

You have to really try to make it rock (at least the cars at Coney). You can usually tell the people that will try and rock their cars because they will try rocking it before you even start the ride up. I find Coney`s Wheel to be an enjoyable ride. The thing I don`t get, is that in my four years there, I had more protien spills on the Ferris Wheel then I did on Round Up!! -
Mark Kupferman, VP of Research and Interactive Marketing for Paramount Parks has launched a blog over on Parkfeedback.com. The blog chronicals results of the surveys that Paramount Parks has conducted through that site and winners of the prize drawings from the surveys. Also, the Paramount Parks discussion board has gone offline, until they finish upgrading to new software. Paramount Park Blog

Yes. That is the reason why they will be removing most of the references to Hanna Barbera. Kids these days aren`t watching HB like they used to. They are watching all the Nick shows. Just imagine how awe struck they will be if they get to ride on a Spongebob Coaster with theming! Or drive through a land full of Nick characters! While I will be sad to see some of the classic rides leave from HBL, rides that I once rode when I was small, I am looking forward to the new Nick Central. Especially if PKI has in store for us what I think they have do!

Yes, stand ups were a fad. I enjoyed King Cobra at Kings Island more than Mantis. In part, because Mantis hurt my legs from all the blood rushing down to them. Also, I liked the fact that King Cobra had airtime! I miss King Cobra, and was sad to see it go. But I enjoy the ride that replaced it even more! No, PKI will never get another stand up coaster. One can only hope that one day they will install a full length inverted machined from those guys in Switzerland.

That is why on the back of the Eli Bridge cars, it states: "Danger: Do Not Rock the Seat." At Coney, we have the right to yell at people for rocking the seats. If they still rock, we can kick them off the ride and confiscate their wristband/member ID without refund. Incidentally, the wheel that is at Coney is no longer produced by Eli Bridge, because it is cable driven. Now all the new 12 seater and 16 seat models (Coney`s is a 12 seater) are made with drive wheels. The reason is that it requires more skill and thought to keep the wheel balanced with the cable drive system than the tire drive. If you are not careful with balancing the wheel, it will start to make wierd noises, and even start to go backwards! -
What themegurl was refering to is that on the PKI site, it says Coming September 7th, on the FearFest page. That means that at some point today they will likely release all the details about FearFest 2005.
