  1. It`s called they are only in their office during normal business hours. And, you shouldn`t be bothering them with when they will finally get the FearFest website online. I`m sure they will put it online when they are fully ready to.
  2. It is almost 5 now, and still no FearFest site. Things must be taking longer to finalize/build the site than expected.
  3. Don`t forget the one perk that is good on any visit to the park, whether in April or October, the Gold Pass Reserved parking area! Definantly an excellent perk, as long as that lot is monitored (it is usually monitored until around 6pm most days).
  4. I haven`t heard anything official, but I have heard that Scooby`s Ghoster Coaster, Dick Dastardly`s Biplanes, Quick Draw`s Railway, and possibly Baba Looey`s Buggies (handcars) and the Alley Cat 500 (kiddie whip) might be removed. These rides comprise what is known as the South Pie of Hanna Barbera Land. I sincerly hope that at least the kiddie whip and hand cars are spared, along with the motorized train cars. I could care less about the biplanes or Scooby`s Ghoster Coaster. Only time will tell what attractions PKI does indeed tear out. But from a capacity (and a nostalgic) stand point, I hope it is as few rides as possible.
  5. I can`t wait to hear what they have in store! At least Kings Island updated their website saying they will reveal tomorrow. Kings Dominion`s website didn`t update and still says coming September 7th.
  6. You have to really try to make it rock (at least the cars at Coney). You can usually tell the people that will try and rock their cars because they will try rocking it before you even start the ride up. I find Coney`s Wheel to be an enjoyable ride. The thing I don`t get, is that in my four years there, I had more protien spills on the Ferris Wheel then I did on Round Up!!
  7. Mark Kupferman, VP of Research and Interactive Marketing for Paramount Parks has launched a blog over on Parkfeedback.com. The blog chronicals results of the surveys that Paramount Parks has conducted through that site and winners of the prize drawings from the surveys. Also, the Paramount Parks discussion board has gone offline, until they finish upgrading to new software. Paramount Park Blog
  8. Yes. That is the reason why they will be removing most of the references to Hanna Barbera. Kids these days aren`t watching HB like they used to. They are watching all the Nick shows. Just imagine how awe struck they will be if they get to ride on a Spongebob Coaster with theming! Or drive through a land full of Nick characters! While I will be sad to see some of the classic rides leave from HBL, rides that I once rode when I was small, I am looking forward to the new Nick Central. Especially if PKI has in store for us what I think they have do!
  9. Yes, stand ups were a fad. I enjoyed King Cobra at Kings Island more than Mantis. In part, because Mantis hurt my legs from all the blood rushing down to them. Also, I liked the fact that King Cobra had airtime! I miss King Cobra, and was sad to see it go. But I enjoy the ride that replaced it even more! No, PKI will never get another stand up coaster. One can only hope that one day they will install a full length inverted machined from those guys in Switzerland.
  10. That is why on the back of the Eli Bridge cars, it states: "Danger: Do Not Rock the Seat." At Coney, we have the right to yell at people for rocking the seats. If they still rock, we can kick them off the ride and confiscate their wristband/member ID without refund. Incidentally, the wheel that is at Coney is no longer produced by Eli Bridge, because it is cable driven. Now all the new 12 seater and 16 seat models (Coney`s is a 12 seater) are made with drive wheels. The reason is that it requires more skill and thought to keep the wheel balanced with the cable drive system than the tire drive. If you are not careful with balancing the wheel, it will start to make wierd noises, and even start to go backwards!
  11. What themegurl was refering to is that on the PKI site, it says Coming September 7th, on the FearFest page. That means that at some point today they will likely release all the details about FearFest 2005.
  12. The past two years, they have taken the Scrambler out of commision in October as well, and used part of its queue line and ride area for the lilne for what was once known as House of Darkness. I think all the names on the haunted attractions this season are different.
  13. Just got back from my first day working at Coney this year. Since the summer quarter is over at UC and I am co-oping this fall, I decided to return for my fourth season at Coney Island. I ran Coney`s Ferris Wheel today for six hours. Most people really enjoy riding the Ferris Wheel (there was one kid who must have rode it with hsi dad at least ten times). The one thing they like to comment on is how fast it actually runs. I was asked numerous times if there was a "slow" setting. I believe the Ferris Wheel at Stricker`s Grove is also a 12 seat Eli Bridge Ferris Wheel, like the one at Coney Island.
  14. It is free with either a 2005 or 2006 season pass, and is included with the cost of general admission. Not sure how much they will charge for Friday evening general admission. I would imagine it would not be $44.99, since they are only open seven hours (5pm-midnight).
  15. The full length of the ivy walkway disappeared when they renovated Hanna Barbera Land back in 1998. There is still a small portion remaining with table underneath it for people to eat at.
  16. From what I understand, HB is split into four areas for the ride crews. There is north pie, east, west ad south pie. South pie is back by Dick Dastardly`s biplanes, the hand cars, the mini whip, and Scooby`s Ghoster Coaster, if I am not mistaken.
  17. Remember that Face Off also used to have an on ride photo. Also, at one point in time, Adventure Express also had an on ride photo, but that was a long time ago.
  18. Yes, I believe that pass holders that have renewed their season passes for next season recieved a free ticket for this weekend. Unfortunately, I haven`t been to PKI in a couple weeks, due to school. With regular classes wrapping up and my final studio project finished, and then finals week this week, I have been rather busy!
  19. I wonder if they are planning on building the museum on PKI property? It definantly sounds like PKI is interested in at least hosting a traveling exhibit from the National Roller Coaster Museum. This is just another example of how much PKI values and does so many wonderful things for ACE (which was even included in the survey) and the entire enthusiast community. It will be interesting to see what, if any thing, develops from this survey.
  20. Nope. You can go in the houses as many times as you can. At PKI, since FearFest is included free with park admission and season passes, you are limited to how long the lines are. Some of the lines can get quite long on busier days.
  21. Just to clarify a couple things. The Sky Ride and Bavarian Beetle that were at Coney Island are the same ones that were moved to Kings Island. The rides were not "sold" to Kings Island, because the owners of Coney Island back then (Taft Broadcasting) were the ones that were developing Kings Island. So they already owned the rides and just moved them to Kings Island, among other rides. Rides that they moved included the Carousel, the Kings Mills Log Flume (now Wild Thornberrys River Adventure), the Flying Eagles, the Scrambler, the Monster (although the last two rides have actually been replaced with other versions over the years) and several of the kiddie rides.

    2006 Rumors

I didn`t think it was that bad. I did think that the beginning was a little weak, ad the plot overall was rather weak. But I thought it was a cool concept, and mentioned several of the top Nick shows, which might be an incentive to introduce it at the Paramount Parks. Only time will tell what the next movie in the FX Theater will be.
  23. Yes I know that some of them were the same names/themes as areas at PKI, so it could indicate some of the changes that PKI has in store. Someone said that Curse of the Crypt will be gone this year. I do believe that when i was there this past weekend, that I thought I saw the facade entrance to Curse of the Crypt behind the Maze of Madness building (by the exit to Maze of Madness).
  24. No, you are correct. Pass holders receive (as you stated) an $8 discount to a one day admission to Winterfest. Too bad it isn`t free, but from what I have heard, they are selling a bunch of tickets already, so you might want to purchase your tickets soon, before they all sell out!
  25. I highly doubt that all of those themes will be implented at PKI for this year`s FearFest. From the sounds of things, this could end up being the best FearFest yet!
