  1. The new wooden coaster under construction at Mt. Olympus Theme park in the Wisconsin Dells will have a turn banked at 90 degrees. In addition to that the turn will be located in an underground tunnel. The designers of the ride are Cincinnati`s own The Gravity Group, the company that was formed from several of the enigineers that brought to life CCI`s incarnations. Here is the image that is hosted on Onridecentral, showing the 90 degree banked turn. It looks pretty awesome (and intense) to me. Looks like this ride will be a hit, and hopefully the Gravity Group will be the next CCI!
  2. I hope things are still a go for Friday, despite the weather prediction. I might just be able to get up their at 5 because I might get off work early because the movers will be moving all of K4`s stuff to our new offices starting at 12! I just wish it qould quite raining!
  3. Well the forecaster have been calling for rain for quite some time now, at least channel 9 and 12 have been.
  4. And one big reason why he wanted Disney to have the rights for his Star Wars and Indy franchise, is because he knew they had the capital and ability to make the attractions live up to the standards he set in the movies. Word on the street is that the Indiana Jones Stunt show at Disney MGM studios may be removed to make way for an indoor Indiana Jones Dark ride, similar to the one found out at Disneyland.
  5. Why would the park be packed this weekend? While IJST opening would draw in some people, with the weather forecast, I would not be tempted to say it will be packed (in fact the opposite is true). Enough is enough with the rain!
  6. Unfortunatly, the forecast does not look good for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all though the rain is supposed to be more scattered in nature, and at least the highs will be in the upper 50`s to 60s. Don`t know if they would push back the opening of IJST if it is raining.
  7. Yes, the park will be open to Gold Pass Holders from 5 to 10 pm this Friday, weather permitting. Based on the most recent forecast, this weekend could end up being another wash! At least there won`t be snow, but enough with the rain already! Saturday the park is scheduled to operate from 10-9 and Sunday`s hours are 10-8, also dependant on this crazy stupid weather where it can be 70 one day and two days later there can be half an inch of snow on your car!
  8. Sounds very neat! I just watched all three of the original Star Wars Special Editions this weekend. I had to do something since the weather here in Cincinnati was crap! When does episode 3 arrive in theaters?
  9. As I said earlier, the parking lot opens either at 8:30 or 8:45. Also, sometimes in the summer White Water Canyon won`t open until noon.
  10. They haven`t updated their site with that information, but I wouldn`t doubt it. It is still snowing where I live in Cincinnati, although the stuff that was on the grass has already melted away. A smart decision by the park to0 close.
  11. Well, for this season, your tradition of visiting the campground will be impossible. According to the PKI website though, a new campground will be ready for next season. I really don`t have any "traditions" when I visit the park. When I go there, it is to enjoy myself, have fun, hang out with friends, and forget about the troubles of school/work for a couple of hours.
  12. You know you are a PKI addict when.... you have more than 1,700 posts in a forum on a fansite for the park!
  13. Parking lot opens at either 8:30 or 8:45. The front gates and shops on I-Street open at 9. The main areas of the park and the rides open at 10. Between 9 and 10, guests are pretty much llimited to I-Street.
  14. Well, I was originally supposed to volunteer to help out in the Picnic Groves today. They called yesterday to say they wouldn`t need me. I`m sure the picnics are booked well in advance. I don`t know what they in terms of the picnic groups. (I heard somewhere that Time Warner Cable had a picnic there today).
  15. Why was it a mess? Was it because of the weather, or because it was crowded? In all honesty, I can`t blame them for closing early. The weather today sucks. Coney didn`t even open the select rides they normally have running for the flower show today. my brother went in, and they told him to go home, and gave him two hours of pay for showing up.
  16. Well, the snow advisory runs until 2PM tomorrow, not 2am. And the park was open today from 10-4. I did not go up there, but I assume it was desserted and pretty miserable up there with the rain, old and wind! The same will hold for tomorrow if they open.
  17. It will first open during the Gold Pass Party next Friday from 5-10. It will then be open to the public every weekend until daily operation begins and the ride officially opens on May 20. However, as has been stated, they will continue to fine tune the ride experience up until its official opening on May 20th, so sporadic closures and downtime will occur when it is open.
  18. Just a heads up, the park has announced on their website that they will be closing today (Saturday April 23, 2005) at 4pm due to the inclement weather.

  20. No real big surprise there! Heck, Cincinnati has a snow advisory from 6pm today until 2pm tomorrow! I tell you what, Cincinnati weather is crazy. On Monday they were calling for sun and highs in the mid 50s, and then as is typical with Cincinnati forecasters they kept dropping the temps.
  21. Just curious Dane, but were you aware of this before I made my earlier post on this same topic?
  22. Yes, those are some classic Nick shows. Legends of the Hidden Temple, Guts. I even remember Wild and Crazy Kids, although that wasn`t filmed at the Nick Studios down in Florida, if I remember correctly.
  23. I understand what you are saying Skippy. But aren`t a comment and statement the same thing? I didn`t even realize it was hosted on PCW`s site until Dane posted his message. I wonder why PCW used an image from PKI?
  24. And one of the main reasons they cemented the old queue stairs was because of their location. Very few rides load from the center like Flight Commander did. Now, I wouldn`t mind seeing them reuse the shaded area of the queue and rework the approach to the concrete pad for a future ride. I just wish they would install a ride there that is a ride and not a pay attraction!
  25. Um? I believe that he was refering to the image that was in the original post. Which definantly looks like it is at PKI, as the queue is to the left and behind the billboard. While at Wonderland the lake is behind and to the left of the billboard.
