  1. I wuoldn't mind getting the Ride Warrior Flag. I have various flags and shot glasses I have started collecting in my basement.
  2. Here is everything you wanted to know about torando warnings and more. First in this area all weather warnings are issued by the National Weather Service out of Wilmington. Watches are issued out of Oklahoma and the storms prediction center. A Tornado Warning is issued when a trained spotter has confirmed a tornado on the ground or when doppler radar indicates a possible tornado. The sirens in some cases are sounded when there is a Severe Thunderstorm Warning when a Tornado Watch is issued. This depends on the county. Also with the Emergency Alert System these sirens also can be programmed to sound automatically when a warning is issued. Under the old Emergency Broadcast System warnings were issued for complete counties, under the Emergency Alert System which was implemented in 1997/98 the ability to issue warnings for "sub divisions" of counties became possible as it is a digital system that works on a web of communication rather than a chain. The storm in question on May 21, was issued for South Eastern Warren County around the Butlerville area which is 10 miles to the east of Kings Island. The storm was moving away from KI towards Wilmington. To the poster who gets panic attacks during the storms I completely understand as I survived an F3 tornado that touched down extremely close to my house at the time (light polls across the street were bent at the bottom like a pretzel) in Jan of 2000 in Owensboro, Ky. The power of those storms are nothing to mess with and should be taken serious. Also a couple of years ago I was on The Beast when a Severe T-storm popped up. That was not a fun ride as hail, lightning, and high winds provided a painful ride on my bald head. One thing Kings Island should do is when storm warnings are issued is use the PA system to inform and direct guests what to do and where to go. Anything else is irresponsible. As far as workers having umbrellas, during a thunderstorm that would basically be walking around with a lightning rod. Hooded jackets would be much much better option for keeping employees dry. Also you can not operate rides safely when lightning is in the area as it can travel as far as 30-40 miles away from the center of the storm. The park closing for safety reasons makes the most sense, especially when the storms train the way they did that night. Scott Evans Weathercaster - Radio Forecast Network, heard locally on 1160AM mid-6a Very interesting!! As a survivor of the Xenia tornado of '74, I am fascinated by all of this. I agree, the park needs to come up with a plan. Selective, I can't believe that sup said they had no plan since the park had never been hit by one. That just floors me. I would like to take that person into Xenia to live for a year-I guarantee their views would change. I suggest management look at contacting Xenia's risk management dept since they have trained other communities in emergency preparedness-lord knows, they are experts on the subject. I have no problem with the park closing early that night, they did the right thing. Staying in an open area with the storms going on, is just plain stupid. Honestly, I can't understand the complaining on here about KI's decision to close early. I know most of you will think I'm crazy but I think tornadoes are a beautiful thing and almost a work of art! Unfortunate though that sometimes they strike in highly populated areas. I want to see a tornado in person someday.
  3. I would love to have a TTD type ride at Kings Island. They are extremely fun to wait for, ride and just stand around and watch. Over the ET though? I think it was just ruin the entire park if they did that.
  4. LOL thats why half the speakers are blown
  5. They must be thinking of a different ride.
  6. It was back when Boomerrang Bay was still Water Works. It was getting late and I just had to get one last slide in. I slipped on the top of the water slide and hit my head passed out and went down the slide. Regained consinous when I hit the water. Walked off like nothing had happened until someone said dude your head is gushing blood. Off to first aide I went to put a temp. bandage on it. Then made a trip to the ER for some stiches.
  7. Yea I saw this like on my 2nd trip of the season.
  8. I went to Holiday World earlier this week and rode the Voyage about 10 times. I love the layout of the ride but it was pretty rough. The Legend just didnt do it for me but the Raven I loved thed Raven.
  9. I went Tuesday for the 1st time and had a blast. I thoght the Raven was the best ride there. I thought the Voyage was a fun ride but it was kind of rough. The Legend while better wooden coaster I didnt think it was amazing.
  10. If the ride was smooth I could see it.
  11. A month is a long time. You can get alot of work done in a month.
  12. It looks like you could just roll right out of the pool. I am assuming that you cant though.
  13. Is the ride still open. I was going to go to the park next week.
  14. Best places to eat are the Shrimp Shack, Skyline, LaRosas, and for a snack Potato works. For whatever reason I love the food at Kings Island.
  15. Yea Dave and Busters is a great place. It can get kind of expensive though if your not carefull.
  16. I have had over 2000 on it. Only rode it once though.
  17. Yes the one at Cedar Point was great. Will they turn the lights off right at park close or let people filter out first? At CP I walked through after park close and they were still on.
  18. I would love for that way to come back but man does that water look nasty.
  19. I just got the Gold Pass. I might or might not upgrade later.
  20. Does anyone live near the park that could post weather updates. In raining here but I looked on the Mason radar and I didnt see any rain.
  21. Why waste money redesgining the ride. It would cost millions and may not even fix the problem. At this point in the game they need to tear it down and replace it with something new.
  22. It doesn't look as well done as Cedar Points. I was simply amazed at how CP's was when I walked threw there.
  23. I love the park food everyone once in awhile but the prices are just outragous. I dont mind spending a little more because it is a themepark but come on. Its not at just themeparks either but any sporting venue. I know what it cost to make a pizza including overhead and to pay over $5.00 for 2 slices is just plain highway robbery. Did the prices at the skyline go up as well? I hope the chicken basket at Outer Hanks didnt go up. That was one of the best deals in the park. $10.00 for fries, chicken strips, and a drink.

I went yesterday as well and rode Diamondback and The Beast. Lines for Flight of Fear were to long and I didnt see Firehawk running. Invertago was broke so I just left the park early.
