Top Thrill Dragster Incident
I don’t think this story is getting much media attention as a rollercoaster incident normally would. This is based completely off my own personal experience but none of my friends (who know I’m into rollercoasters) have mentioned the accident at all to me. If most guests aren’t that aware of the incident then I don’t think the rides popularity would take a severe hit. Personally speaking, I’m not eager at all to ride TTD anytime in the near future.

What food would you like to see added to the park?
That Eiffel Tower shaped French fry thread has now made me wish that park brought those back.

Worlds of Fun cancels Winterfest
Wow that’s surprising that it was permanently canceled. It’s even more surprising when you consider one of Cedar Fairs primary to grow revenue was to extend the calendar year. Wonder if any other parks will remove Winterfest.

What food would you like to see added to the park?
To be fair they also now have a chicken restaurant toward the front of the park.

Is a new attraction coming?
Tbf weren’t the antique cars teased just a few days before the announcement?

Kings Island 2021 Discussion
Has anyone else had trouble finding hand sanitizer inside the park? This has probably become one of the worst aspects to my trips to Kings Island. From personal experience nearly every hand sanitizer station I try to use is empty. It’s especially disappointing that even the stations located in or near the restaurants are usually empty.

The Probable Reason Why Orion is 3/4 of a Giga
I mean Orion costs just as much if not more than Fury 325 (which I believe had cost around 30 million dollars). Doesn’t exactly scream hyper coaster budget.

FOF Newspaper Announcement
Had no idea that the rails were red and not black.

Kings Island 2021 Discussion
The article says one of the attackers was in his 20’s, not sure what a chaperone policy would have done at all in this situation. As Brenthodge mentioned there’s a lot we don’t know about this situation.

General Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
A premier launch similar to west coast racers would be an excellent fit since they don’t have a racing coaster.

Cedar Point 2021 Discussion
One can only hope for however I’d be surprised if Thursday nights are actually popular enough to justify being open.

Cedar Point removes picnic grove
Wonder if they’ll just build a new picnic area or perhaps maybe even dorms?

Kings Island 2021 Food News and Reviews
At the bottom of the blog it provides info about chefs plate “The Food and Beverage Team here at Kings Island are so excited to present all this wonderful food for you to enjoy beginning this Saturday through Aug. 1. That being said, we will be postponing Chef’s Plate until after Grand Carnivale. Thanks for understanding!”

Kings Island 2021 Food News and Reviews
Also wouldn’t surprise me if they’re too busy preparing for grand carnival to do chef plate this week.

Repetitive music in park
I assume that the limited music selection is just due to the park cutting costs on music licensing? Could this also be the reason there is no more music being played in the shed?

Squashmellow Shop closed (what’s next?)
I had no idea squishmellows are so popular, they look like regular stuffed animals to me.

Is a new attraction coming?
Except for the fact that Orion’s blueprints are in the queue of the ride. I don’t think the park really cares that much about old blueprints given the fact that they’re public record. I’d be willing to bet money that the blueprints showed in the video are for a new addition or attraction.

Does Fast Lane encourage line jumping?
Maybe it slightly contributes to it, but to be honest I think lack of enforcement of the no line jumping policy is more to blame for an increase in line jumping.

Cedar Fair’s Legal Chief Leaving After 58% Pandemic Pay Cut
I’m not going to lose any sleep for an executive quitting his job due to a pay cut (assuming that’s why he quit). I’m sure if he stuck with the company he’d probably end up with an even bigger compensation compared to his 2019 pay. Most of the time executive compensation is related to company performance so it shouldn’t have come as a shock an executive in an industry heavily effected by economic downturns would experience a pay cut.

Cedar Fair’s Legal Chief Leaving After 58% Pandemic Pay Cut
There’s a lot more people I’d rather give sympathy too than an executive who was earning 700k a year. I seriously doubt this pay cut would have lasted that much longer. I have no doubt that he’ll probably be able to find an extremely way paying job. Can’t say the same for the vast majority of people who lost their jobs this pandemic.

Dollywood announces ten year plan
To be fair it’s a lot easier for a private company to make these massive investments compared to Cedar Fair. For starters since Cedar Fair is a publicly traded Company and because of that short term growth is prioritized often times over long term growth. Additionally FUN has to spend a substantial amount of their net profits on dividends, due to the structure of the company. Finally Herschend parks in general seem to have a lot higher revenue per park compared to a lot of the fun parks. If Cedar Fair spent 500 million at just one park the chain wouldn’t be able to invest in Capex for the other parks.
