  1. Neat idea but I think there are 3 major flaws with doing this at KI 1- The city of mason is way less dense then the San Francisco Bay Area. Because of this any entertainment area at KI would get way less foot traffic compared to CGA 2-there is no major tourist attraction nearby to attract visitors to this shopping area / entertainment area. Anyone visiting the mason for entertainment is already going to be going to KI. Compare this to CGA where a major football stadium is right next door to draw guests in 3- Due to generally favorable weather in the Bay Area the CGA entertainment area likely would be able to attract visitors to the outdoor venue year around compared to Ohio where the weather isn’t usually all that great. I agree having another source of revenue besides the park is a good idea (for example hotels, sports parks, golf etc) however the CGA model really just wouldn’t work at Kings Island
  2. Not sure if the pandemic has effected wether or not the dorms are open but the park does indeed have dorm. https://local12.com/news/local/one-team-village-kings-island-building-dormitory-for-employees-will-cost-only-65week
  3. B&M isn’t some massive company that needs to sell 10 coasters a year to stay in business. Considering how much their rides cost I’m sure they only need to make only a few coasters a year to operate. Furthermore for all we know the company maybe only wants to make 3 or 4 coasters a year. I know in years past B&M had a pretty sizable waitlist.
  4. I mean the likely reason for the cut hours is due to the wage increases, which was caused by insufficient staffing. Doesn’t mean the park lied about anything.
  5. Could be worse, Fury has the parks junkyard under the first drop.
  6. I agree, this seems to be mostly a one off incidence. If this keeps happening sure institute new policies but this situation really seems to be blown out of proportion in some respects, especially with the video calling it an “extremely violent brawl”. While having fights in an amusement park is despicable, this fight didn’t seem like it put any guests in danger besides the ones engaging with the fight.
  7. While line closing sucks, I’d be way more okay with it if the park was transparent that they’d be closing the lines at a certain time.
  8. Price increases that were current experiencing in large part seem to be due to strains on the supply chain throughout the world in addition with increased demand. Other countries, Such as Canada are also experiencing increased inflation. Once the supply chain meets demand consumer hopefully will go down or stabilize. Increased wages are not a bad thing for the economy, when people have more money they spend money which increases companies revenue.
  9. I definitely could see a slight increase in the price of season passes. Season pass holders in general tend to be very loyal so a $10 price increase might not turn away that many customers, especially since there’s a payment plan option.
  10. That is false, none of the vaccines are 100% effective. Although you’re vaccinated there is still a chance that you could become infected. Because of this I don’t find the appeal of potentially standing next to an unvaccinated person for hours that appealing since they could still infect me or others.
  11. Cedar Point is raising minimum wage at the park to $20
  12. Does Delirium even go down that often? I can’t think of many visits I’ve had where Delirium didn’t open. I feel like Drop Tower & WindSeeker go down more often but perhaps I just get lucky during my visits. I definitely hope it gets back up and running soon as it is definitely the best flat ride in the park.
  13. Right, but relying on the honor system is an absolute joke. The point I’m trying to make is in an ideal world the parks would have a system in place where the park can verify wether or not someone has the vaccine.
  14. I’m sure anti-vaxxers will be honest and wear a mask indoors. Hopefully fully vaccinated employees don’t have to wear a mask sometime in the near future as I don’t see much of a reason they should.
  15. This 100%. CedarFair didn’t give us an extra year, sure some can frame it that way but if CedarFair hadn’t extended the passes Until 2021 they’d probably be bankrupt by 2024. For the most park Cedar Fair has handled this pandemic well, Cedar Point seems to be the only Cedar Fair park having significant issues opening weekend.
  16. Honestly in some ways I have to disagree with you here. One thing I’m very happy McClure focused on was the parks food offerings. Under his management the park seems to have made decent strides to improve their food offerings, which was one of my biggest problems with the park. I think your point about the park feeling like a Six Flags park is pretty spot on though as clearly operationally theres severe issues & the park seems to lack a lot of charm.
  17. Some people were saying that SteVe had a 3 hour+ wait. I feel bad for anyone who paid money for a day ticket to visit.
  18. So they’re clearing equipment to make room for the 400ft Gerstlaur in Action Zone /s
  19. This notice covered both the years 2020 & 2021.
  20. Please be for an S&S screamin swing. On a serious note it’s definitely interesting for sure. Based off the notice of commencement it’s definitely possible it could be an attraction that’s been brokered by Ride entertainment (Who does indeed work with gerstlaur). Only issue with that theory is the fact ride entertainment already worked with the park when they replaced the Adventure Express lift hill chain.
  21. I’d love to see a flat ride be added to Oktoberfest for the 50th season. In terms of merchandise I’d really love to see the return of souvenir maps!
  22. I agree that nothing will probably happen to the site within the next two years however grass isn’t particularly expensive to plant.
  23. Spoiler alert it won’t. Based off the wording of the tweet I assume masks also won’t be required indoors. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly other parks follow suit.
  24. Yea my experience with Carowinds in park food was pretty lackluster. However I believe they recently hired the former executive chef at Knotts Berry farm so hopefully their food offerings improve in the coming years.
  25. I mean the CDC recommends mask wearing in crowded outdoor spaces and the park didn’t follow that suggestion. Most business so far seem to require masks indoor but that all can quickly change once more states drop the mask mandate.
