  1. I found Flight Deck to be pretty rough even for an SLC. Time Warp is a medieval torture device disguised as a roller coaster.
  2. Seems like Martin & Vleminckx would be a good candidate to erect it: Based in Quebec and has lots of experience with wood construction.
  3. That should be how it is set up already @Klabergian Empire
  4. Yes! I really like the look of those fluorescent tubes, but I certainly understand the need to modernize to LED.
  5. I miss the old color scheme and lighting.
  6. No matter how rough a wooden coaster is or how much jackhammering goes on, I still generally find them fun. Grizzly at KD, Minebuster at CW, or Legend at HW come to mind- I usually get off laughing and thinking “that was so awful I need to do it again”. I generally don’t classify wooden coasters into my list of worst coasters; the roughness is part of the fun. My pick would be Vortex at Carowinds. There is nothing redeeming about it.
  7. Remember, one of those is a channel for fall protection harnesses. Banshee, Valravn, and Fury all have these. Diamondback uses a steel cable, but is the same concept. If you look closely at their lifts on POVs you can see it.
  8. I think it should be a full blown TSA checkpoint. Full body scanners, explosive detectors, the works!
  9. How about a dueling launched S&S Axis??
  10. First run usually goes without trims so that they can be sure it will complete the circuit, then they will be dialed in to the design speed. Last thing you would want on the first test would be a valley due to overzealous trims.
  11. Vortex is my #1 most disliked coaster I have ever been on. I'm not sure a floorless conversion could even help it with a layout that is so short.
  12. Per RMC at IAAPA, the issue of loud lifts *should* be able to be resolved with new rubber tips on the anti-rollbacks.
  13. With inflation, that’s $10,600,000 today! Still a deal.
  14. If you could pick one coaster to have built in your backyard to ride whenever you want, what would it be? To make it a little more interesting, only list an existing ride model that costs less than $10,000,000. If RCDB or Wikipedia (or any other official source) do not list a price, it doesn’t count! My personal choice, a Chance Hyper GT-X! Lightning Run is one of my favorite coasters.
  15. A retrack could go a long way. I might be in the minority, but I find FoF to be one of the roughest rides in the park. It certainly wouldn’t be cheap to retrack it, but wouldn’t be the hardest thing in the world, either. If it ever were to get a partial/full track replacement, I’d guess it would get an LSM conversion too.
  16. I think the MCBR before the corkscrew is what was meant.
  17. Have to disagree here- totally different concepts that are 100+ years apart. Wright Brothers were mentioned, as well as DaVinci. Those are totally different time periods than a spaceship and a meteor strike.
