I bet Diamondback will be walk on. Even pre Covid I would say the same. I hope I'm wrong but Orion is gonna affect Diamondback like Fury did Intimidator Flight of Fear on the other hand will have really long lines.

That would go against a long standing Cedar Fair policy of you get in the line 1 minute before close you get a ride. With that in mind I tried to ride Steel Vengeance in 2018 first and last thing of the day. -

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of making a second reservation? If I have to wait until I use one reservation to make another then why make that tweet at all? Its still only one reservation not 2. -

I just want a flyer done right. I liked Firehawk and B&M builds good ones I hear. -
July 4th 2019 was almost 90 degrees so the dry park was empty until 8pm when the water park closed. Then it got packed. This year with no waterpark and dry rides running with every other row marked off who knows what it will be like. Weather looks to be 90 again and no rain this year too.

Would that explain why Afterburner is so smooth with the old style over the shoulder restraints?

Indiana Beach just opened up like 4 hours ago and not to the public until tomorrow. How do you know they are not social distancing? Are you there taking pictures or videos? Also Indiana is suppose to go into stage 5 on July 4th and is already in stage 4. -
The solution is to always go to the Coke freestyle Stand in Rivertown and get a drink for your hand...

If these restrictions or shutdowns go into 2021 then its no longer even a bonus anymore. Even at this month the gold and platinum probably is not even really giving us "extra" days or months considering the deal always in the past started in August anyways. It is going to be July 2 before passholders can go to King's Island and that is with less hours per day and limits on how many visits for the foreseeable future. If you have gold you also do not get the waterpark this year you paid for or the shows you paid for or events you paid to get into like Carnival. Halloween and Christmas may get canceled. If you paid for platinum you can only get into 1 park right now and only 2 more scheduled to open and again all of the other restrictions posted. If we do not get a full normal 2021 season then we still are not getting what we paid for as far as season passes are concerned. You can make some of those arguments for all season fastlane /all chain fastlane and platinum dining too even though they are good for 2021 as well. The only add on that is likely still 100 safe to buy this year and get your moneys worth is the drink plan. Then there is also the idea that we paid for a lot of this stuff in 2019 whether it be in full or monthly payments and the park gets to sit on said money for almost 2 full years in some cases. Like if you bought your pass at King's Dominion in Aug and they likely do not open back up until next year. Or if you bought platinum and live in Canada and the border does not open back up. Even if it does How many people going to or from would be driving through New York. They just basically added a 2 week ban for outsiders. -
I reserved July 12 because its the first day I can go. I know its also the first day the public can go. I also want to go on Sat July 18th. I wonder if that means I can't reserve for the 18th until the 13th? If so and all the early times are taken I'm much less likely to go. If I have to wait over 2 weeks to make that second reservation and then the only thing open is 1:30pm in theory. It is not really worth my time to only go for 5 hours. Sure I do it during Winterfest but but that is not during a throttled Covid condition park either. I wonder if that affects Cedar Point reservations too? Not that it matters as much seeing as they are gonna be more or less running Haunt Fridays operations and not have every ride running.

You could throttle it and make it so no strangers go in together. However this leads to another problem. I usually go alone and I hate walking through a maze alone or first. I prefer to see reactions from people. -

That's what I do too. -
Platinum dining plan was about $150 this past year after taxes and fees. I think gold dining is 20 or so less. Meals are about 15 or so a piece in the park and 2 a day adds up fast. even at $10 a meal gold would pay for itself in about 6 visits. I had 20 total visits last year.Another way I look at it is I spend about the same amount of money round trip in gas as I would going out to eat once a week at a nice restaurant. Oh and being near Columbus I'm in between King's Island and Cedar Point.

I was a new Cedar Fair passholder for 2019. I bought it in Sept 2018 and got the bonus months The Dollywood bonus doesn't start until the Christmas season .
-
I have thought about doing that too. Or alternating passes each year. Cedar Fair one year, kennywood the next, Busch after that etc.

Guess they gotta check to make sure we are all wearing our masks over our mouth and nose while eating and drinking inside those restaurants. -
If they offer anything like that then it will make a lot of people mad including myself. If they do that they are screwing everybody who renewed early. Or anyone who bought the all season fastlane expecting to use it on Orion all summer.

Indiana Beach 2020
SnakePlissken replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I bought a season pass. I plan on going late Friday night July 3rd, all day Sat the 4th and July 7th on my way back from 2 days at Mount Olympus. July 8 at Kentucky Kingdom. July 9-11 at Dollywood and July 12 at Kings Island. -

I still dont see how they expect you to eat popcorn and drink soda with a mask on. I can understand requiring masks in the lobby but in your seat watching the movie is absurd. -
At some point I want to hit every Cedar Fair park. Not all at once but maybe over a couple years chip away at it. I have been to King's Island and Cedar Point and Carowinds. Was gonna do King's Dominion this year but then that darned Covid thing happened so that is being pushed to next year. Canada's Wonderland and Knott's are high on my list too.

Thoughts on the Current State of Soak City
SnakePlissken replied to bengalsguy23's topic in Kings Island
Zoom Flume was Fast Lane last summer. I used it. I think King's Island Soak City is a lot more friendly toward single riders than Kentucky Kingdom Hurricane Bay is. At Kentucky Kingdom I had to ask strangers if I could ride with them on any slide that required 2 or more. At King's Island the employee asks strangers for you and finds someone willing to share a ride for you. Hot concrete is a huge problem at Soak City and was not as bad at Hurricane Bay. I made the mistake at King's Island of trying to walk around several hours in the waterpark barefoot and by evening I could hardly walk. Soak City needs a water coaster really bad. -
I took a picture last year of Diamondback stuck on the lift hill and posted it and I think this post was directed at me. Editing this to say if the Diamondback comment was on the 2019 thread I didn't see it. I'm sure once a thread gets several pages long people don't click on every page and miss the original comment made.

I'm going to Dollywood in a couple weeks. Does that count?
-
I have a feeling Kings Island with these limits won't be bad and will have shorter wait times outside of Orion. Cedar Point on the other hand is gonna be a nightmare if its anything like early May weekends and Haunt Fridays. Understaffed and rides and food stands not open. I'm planning on avoiding Cedar Point this year unless I'm wrong.

I was at Coasterstock early in the morning day one last year. My blood sugar dropped with no warning. It does this sometimes and I think my lack of breakfast that morning caused it. I can usually ride anything and over and over. I attempted to ride 2 coasters like that and after almost throwing up on The Bat I decided that was enough until the food stands opened up at 10am. Riding drunk can't be much better.
