Carowinds
SnakePlissken replied to flightoffear1996's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I rode Hurler last summer and it isn't rough at all. Sure the layout is not great and the coaster is just meh but rough is not the problem. -
Carowinds
SnakePlissken replied to flightoffear1996's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Hurler isn't a bad ride and it would be a shame for them to lose their one decent woodie. If I had to bet on the spot for a new coaster/next coaster to be replaced it would be Nighthawk. -
I know it got stuck on the MCBR during Coasterstock 2019 on the 2nd day in the morning right before the Train tour. Some unlucky few missed it.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
SnakePlissken replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
That still does not make it factual. You need sources. -
I wonder why Kings Dominion Flight of Fear needs retracked and the one at King's Island doesn't? You would think that any ride that is at both parks would see more riders and more wear and tear at King's Island. Ours does not seem so bad.

I don't understand why so many people think its so bad. I do not find RMC restraints bad at all. I have only ridden 3 with those restraints and one isn't even RMC. The 2 at Kentucky Kingdom and Steel Vengeance. I even love the rapid bunny hops at the end of Steel Vengeance and Storm Chaser too. I find the headbanging over the shoulder restraints found on looping arrows, Vekoma boomerangs and any B&M over the shoulder restraint is worse. Raptor kind is worse than the newer Banshee kind but still give me RMC leg restraints over those any day.

Hotel packages with park tickets?
SnakePlissken replied to HouseFullofCoasterFanatics's topic in Kings Island
Great Wolf Lodge usually has packages but they usually are not really "deals". That place is almost as expensive as Breakers. I would recommend the Best Western about 2 miles away instead. -
Cedar Point Fast Lane 2020

And your point being? It doesn't make my post any less valid. Last I checked this is a Kings Island forum. You also waited almost a month to quote me and make that snarky comment. -
Going To Carowinds For The First Time
SnakePlissken replied to RedSummit20's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Go ahead and ride everything once for credits. Then marathon the crap out of Fury and Copperhead Strike. If its busy get a fastlane. I got in 10+ rides on both of those and rode everything else at least once on a busy Sat in late July. If its hot don't ride Nighthawk during the day. Its a better ride at night anyways. Also I was surprised by how good Seasons of Cirque was last year. -
But Twisted Timbers is not a wood coaster. If it was than so would be Steel Vengence, Gemini and arrow mine trains

On one hand I will ask why does The Racer need to be RMC'ed to extend the life of it. Look at Jack Rabbit at Kennywood. It is 100 this year without RMC touching it. On the other hand its a lousy ride and extremely rough. I don't ride it much and many trips I skip it.

Miami River Brewhouse may be the restaurant in the park I eat at the most but the best is Coney BBQ. If only Coney had the indoor seating and the bar It would be perfect. Miami River Brewhouse leaves too many items off the meal plan. If there was just an option to pay an upcharge to add bacon to the burgers to to swap the tots for mac and cheese it would be good but they do not allow things like that.

If you want a family hybrid go ride Adventure Express.

I think Slaughterhouse is mostly hidden. Its gated off and only really visible during the summer from The Beast ride itself and maybe part of the que.

Kings Island is packed in the fall. Probably more so than the so called "peak" season. Part of the reason why is all of your "Eyesores". Your trash is someone else's treasure. I do not want to see those buildings removed if it means losing Haunts. Haunt is the best time of year to go. I love my night rides and going through all the houses.

Beastie is a longer name than Beast and I always thought Beastie was the kiddie coaster.

Keys to the Kingdom 2020
SnakePlissken replied to coasterfanatic83's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I haven't been to Strickers Grove yet and I still say that is a no brainer. 6 coasters vs 2. Lightning Run and Storm Chaser are good. Thunder Run is getting track work done. The water park and food at Kentucky Kingdom is amazing. -

Fun Spot looks into buying Indiana Beach
SnakePlissken replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
From my location in Ohio Indiana Beach is farther away than Kings Island, Kentucky Kingdom or Holiday World. So I figured someone near Indiana Beach would just drive down the state and hit Holiday World first then pass Kentucky Kingdom then Kings Island but I didn't google it either. -

I thought your "home" park was always the closest park to you. Not how good or bad a park was. Anybody in Indianapolis passes like 3 parks on the way to Kings Island.
