Cedar Point Trip Report 07/11 - 07/12 2020
SnakePlissken replied to WoodCoasterManiac's topic in Trip Reports
I would be happy with a fastlane refund plus interest. But just simply a refund or saying hey you can't use it in 2020 at all but its good for all of 2021. That isn't good enough. You are taking it personal by making the post I am replying too. I drove 2 hours to ride Orion yesterday for the first time and used my fastlane twice while I waited. At 12:30pm Onion Mystic, Diamondback and Beast were still not running. So I left and drove back home. I had somewhere to be and couldn't stick around till pay close and hope the one new ride I drove there for opens. As of right now I don't know if I will be back to any Cedar Fair park at all this year or until things go back to normal next year. The masks restrictions, The slow lines and slow ops, the rides all being half closed at King's Island and Cedar Point and the mixed reviews of Orion make me think it may just not be worth my time. When my passes run out my money is going to a park like Holiday World who is handing everything so much better. -
Cedar Point Trip Report 07/11 - 07/12 2020
SnakePlissken replied to WoodCoasterManiac's topic in Trip Reports
I'm really getting tired of people on this forum bashing us Fast Lane users. We paid for a product Pre Covid. The park took our money. I bought all season chain fastlane last Aug for 850. Couldn't use it until yesterday. That is almost a whole year the parks had my money. If they had said nobody who bought them can use them then that is a huge lawsuit on their hands. If I pay for a product in 2019 that is supposed to be good in 2020 and they said hey its not good till 2021 now that is breaking the contract. Rides like Orion would no longer be new a year later and therefor the fastlane bought would have less value. There was someone else on this forum on another forum complaining about some of us "abusing" fastlane by using it over and over. Well that is not abusing. Its paying for a product and using it as intended. Anybody could have bought these fastlanes last year or last winter. The only problem I have is I guess people can still buy all season fastlane even though those were supposed to be limited and they were not supposed to be selling them at all this summer. People are now paying the 550/850 just to skip the lines on Orion. This is going to create a problem like the gold pass Cedar Point problem by overselling them and next year fastlane lines will be longer than they should be. -
You might want to read posts on page 5.

What if I post Vortex is stuck on the lift hill?

There is nobody on that train. I got here at 10:30 and they haven't let anybody ride it yet.
-
I swear I saw Orion cycle once but don't take my word for it. Staff is saying electrical and I don't buy it. She even said "it's a bad day to be in the park." Like I can predict whether it's gonna be a bad day to visit the park based on anything but weather before I drive almost 2 hours. Comments like that just make things worse.

So it's my first day at Kings Island this year. Got here at 10:30am. It's 12:06 and Orion, Diamondback, Mystic, and Beast are all still not running. I'm not happy and may leave soon if this doesn't change. If they are going to run a park with most of the best rides closed including the new one then why even bother opening.

Or the fact that only gets you in the park the day after you stay not both. -
Problematic Water Park Placements
SnakePlissken replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Kentucky Kingdom has dry mixed in with the water park. This edit is for the confused person. Kentucky Flyer and one flat ride is on the water park side. -
Mt. Olympus Re-Opening Long Weekend June 6-8
SnakePlissken replied to WhatTheBlazes's topic in Trip Reports
I'm currently on day 2 marathoning the heck outta Hades 360. 8 rides yesterday. 11 and counting today. Went to the Pizza Pub across the street last night on my birthday. Got draft beer all night free and got to keep the mug too. My chicken parmesan was real good and he threw in a slice of chocolate cake for free. Editing this to say I rode it 20 times today in 6 hours and called it a day. -

I like CoasterBob but that man refuses to go anywhere that isn't in Ohio for some reason. I always wondered why. I hate to say it but Taylor has potential to be better than Bob and Bob set the bar high. -
That's usually when I just give in and get a beer because those lines are never as long.

Coming to King's island July 18th
SnakePlissken replied to Kingsislandfanboy2017's topic in Kings Island
I will be there on July 18th too. -
There have been trims taken off rides after they open. I think Racer last summer is one example. Also trims added after they open like Mean Streak.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
SnakePlissken replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
Wonder what that is going to do to Indiana Beach's plans then? They are not requiring reservations for July 4th and beyond due to the expectation that certain restrictions would be lifted on that day and they would be able to run at full capacity. I had to make a reservation for this coming Friday July 3rd but not the 4th. -
I thought everybody was being forced to go the paper cup route this year due to Covid.

Online Reservations NOW OPEN on KI's Website

Steel Vengeance was 4 hours long opening day. So get in that line first thing or make it your very last ride. -
I thought they had to be done within 24 hours of visiting the park? If so you will have to retake it seeing as how there is still 31+ hours till park open at the time of me typing this?

Vote Diamondback for Top 10 Best Coasters
SnakePlissken replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Kings Island
My vote has to go to Steel Vengeance. Why is steel and wood lumped together? Where the heck is Mystic Timbers? I am surprised but glad this list does not have new coasters not open yet. -
I didn't realize the log flume was a Fast Lane ride. Antigue Cars was Fast Lane Plus last year. This year Orion replaces it.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
SnakePlissken replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
Every morning I wake up I expect the worst. I wouldn't put it past the governor to shut it all down before it all opens again. It would be just my luck. But I only have 4 days till my vacation starts so I hope anything that bad holds off for another 2 weeks. We need to just live our lives at this point. It's almost July. -
That's apple's to oranges. Maverick is arguably the second best ride in that park, sits next door to Steel Vengeance and is a completely different ride experience. Diamondback on the other hand is likely a very similar ride to Orion. Just not as tall or fast. I hope I am wrong but my basis for that is comparing Fury to Intimidator. Also in both Carowinds and Kings Island the rides in question do not sit beside each other. I do think Orion will be a top 2 ride in the park with the other one being Mystic. I expect Diamondback to fall from my top 2 in the park down to 4 or 5 due to Orion likely having the 2.0 effect.

That link does not show any pictures and second any one of us could have done that late last year so it wouldn't really be spoilers.
