  1. ...which is NOT the park's account, misleading as that may be.
  2. CBS Radio News reports the boy is out of the hospital. Separately: http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/29/us/cincinnati-zoo-gorilla-shot/
  3. If the park provides allergy information, and it turns out to be inaccurate, it may be liable. If it does not and is not required to do so, the risk is on the eater....
  4. Canada's Wonderland is in Canada. Regulatory requirements are different.
  5. That's not what I meant. They now have meal plans. The restaurants close early, are understaffed, and service is often very slow. If you went, you'd see how interested they are in food service and feedback.
  6. If you'd been, you'd see how interested the park is in food service and feedback.
  7. You haven't been in the park for quite some time, have you? Terp, asking an honest question...
  8. Conneaut is not a gated park. Walk through. See what's up and what's not. Then decide whether to buy a ride all day, water park pass, tickets, or leave. Sadly, it's necessary anymore, unless you want to just make a donation. Call first? Place has been known to claim things are open that haven't run for weeks or years.
  9. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

  11. ...at which time said food was doubtless cold. And I bet no one offered to do anything about that.
  12. I'm hoping this first weekend goes well. After all, if they didn't have $5500 to pay insurance on the convention center, how much do they have set aside to pay employees and contractors? Or were they going to pay them out of the weekend's receipts? The Blue Streak being closed is NOT a good sign.
  13. No. They have leased it to a former operator of the hotel. One who, under which, some of my worst experiences happened. It's all about dollars...the fact it is a one year lease (with options to renew) should tell you plenty. The FIRST thing this guy did was cut rates. That'll help finance badly needed improvements?
  14. Under the ADA, there is NO grandfathering. Why would safety standards be different? The fact, if it is that, that the zoo met the standards of 38 years ago is of no comfort to gorilla lovers. Enclosures exist not just to protect people from animals, but also to protect animals from people. Here, it appears that this enclosure failed to do that. The child wasn't dropped from a helicopter.
  15. USA Today has changed their headline and lead, from a "gorilla attack" to a "zoo mourns." http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2016/05/29/cincinnati-mourns-gorilla-killed-save-boy/85124064/
  16. Not my point. How is it possible a loose child (which IS easily foreseeable--you just said so), accesses a gorilla enclosure? That shouldn't be physically possible.
