  4. Opening weekend there was no such turn arrow. It has since been installed.
  5. It is with great happiness I can report the fountain is still there and working in 2016. After pushing the foot pedal, it takes a few seconds for the water to arrive. I always let it run a little while before partaking. The fountain bubbles merrily, the drain is working. Some of us care deeply about this artifact from time gone by. Thank you, Kings Island, for preserving this memory all these years. It is much appreciated.
  6. Pictures well worth seeing again...or for the first time. Especially....now.
  7. Time for a revisit. How'd that Screamscape Nostradamus thing work out for y'all?
  8. And to think, at one time price was the biggest complaint about KI Food Service. Been waiting, waiting, waiting to see this again? Terp, who does Putz around. Now, more than ever before!
  9. Elevator causes Washington Monument to be closed. Again: http://wtop.com/dc/2016/05/washington-monument-will-stay-closed-for-sunday/ Will stay closed today, Sunday.
  10. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/biplane-pilot-killed-atlanta-airshow-article-1.2637287 So sad.
  11. Hmmmm. International Street! Nah. At my age, I'd probably get arrested. All because our, ahem!, younger guests, likely would find Gramps' music offensive. Terp, strolling off to the sonorous sounds of Elephant Walk in his Blue's Clues bookbag.
  12. They probably don't trust their employees to tell colors apart. And then, next year the season-long cups may be the same color but 2016's won't scan. Terp -- who is glad he's given up carbonated beverages for the good of the order.
  13. ....and not just the ones riding the ride!
  14. CONGRATULATIONS! Terp, happy for you both!
  15. Well deserving of a bump. And fewer John Miller coasters than then. And Geauga Lake's Big Dipper continues to rot into oblivion, owned at this point by who knows whom.
  16. A 20' by 20' ramshackle shed and lot a block down the street from me went for $1.4 million two years ago. It's now gone, and approximately 250 apartments sit on the larger parcel. With 162 parking spaces. You cannot have a parking space for each apartment in new construction here. Downtown they are building a new hotel--with NO parking. To stay there, you must have bicycled in--and be able to prove it, or have arrived by public transportation. Room rates? $350 a night. Up. Mostly up.
  17. Have a FUN time! (Not to be confused with Funtime). Terp -- who cares.
  18. Some Six Flags charge a lot more than that. Parking is seldom free in the DC Metro, even to shop. My eye doctor has parking available for $6. And that's a bargain compared to elsewhere. DC parking meters are getting ready to go to $2.30 an hour. Arlington's, now $1.25 an hour, are also going up.
