Yes. And yes. -
It is with great happiness I can report the fountain is still there and working in 2016. After pushing the foot pedal, it takes a few seconds for the water to arrive. I always let it run a little while before partaking. The fountain bubbles merrily, the drain is working. Some of us care deeply about this artifact from time gone by. Thank you, Kings Island, for preserving this memory all these years. It is much appreciated.

Elevator causes Washington Monument to be closed. Again: http://wtop.com/dc/2016/05/washington-monument-will-stay-closed-for-sunday/ Will stay closed today, Sunday. -
Hmmmm. International Street! Nah. At my age, I'd probably get arrested. All because our, ahem!, younger guests, likely would find Gramps' music offensive. Terp, strolling off to the sonorous sounds of Elephant Walk in his Blue's Clues bookbag.

They probably don't trust their employees to tell colors apart. And then, next year the season-long cups may be the same color but 2016's won't scan. Terp -- who is glad he's given up carbonated beverages for the good of the order.

A 20' by 20' ramshackle shed and lot a block down the street from me went for $1.4 million two years ago. It's now gone, and approximately 250 apartments sit on the larger parcel. With 162 parking spaces. You cannot have a parking space for each apartment in new construction here. Downtown they are building a new hotel--with NO parking. To stay there, you must have bicycled in--and be able to prove it, or have arrived by public transportation. Room rates? $350 a night. Up. Mostly up. -

Some Six Flags charge a lot more than that. Parking is seldom free in the DC Metro, even to shop. My eye doctor has parking available for $6. And that's a bargain compared to elsewhere. DC parking meters are getting ready to go to $2.30 an hour. Arlington's, now $1.25 an hour, are also going up.
