Whither Conneaut Lake Park Now?
The Interpreter replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Opinion, Meadville Tribune: It's Time For The Taxing Creditors To Give Up Their Fight: http://www.meadvilletribune.com/opinion/editorials/conneaut-lake-park-court-battle-has-wasted-time-money-and/article_e749823b-b1ec-54af-ae93-40b325731625.html Since the bankruptcy, the park has piled on another million plus in debt. Not mentioned. The park sustained a large operating loss last year. Not mentioned. The Beach Club insurance payout is still in litigation... Someone is wearing very rose colored glasses. It's time the park paid its debt. Or at the very least had a workable plan to not end up in bankruptcy again. A debtor in possession must show it is a going concern. The park has miserably failed doing that. It's time the Judge fulfilled his obligations, not just to the debtor, but also to the creditors. -

Knoebels and Waldameer are both musts. Be sure to check Knoebels calendar. You do not want to go on a day when only tickets are accepted. And, they can have some funky hours. Also consider Hersheypark, Conneaut Lake Park for a couple of hours or so IF it opens this year, Idlewild in Ligonier has a great mouse and the wonderful Rollo-Coaster, if you have spare time in New Jersey, there's Wildwood and Clementon...

I am very partial to Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom--which puts you very close to NJFTP. OR you can always swing by Kennywood on your "way" back to the Commonwealth...

Goble: To those in the medical field, HR: heart rate. It makes sense as Human Resources, too, though. "You want how much time off to do WHAT?! "

What coasters have cameras that take a picture?

Just because the cashier left the cash register unattended doesn't make taking the cash legal, moral or right... -

As for pricing, it varies by year. Since the park isn't open yet, and there's a new photo program available, daily pricing may change dramatically from years' past. On ride photos have been posted here in the past. It is true you cannot just take a picture of a photo you did not buy. That's called theft. -
Whither Conneaut Lake Park Now?

That certainly is misleading. Absent approval of a reorganization plan by the bankruptcy judge, nothing is opening at that park in May or ever. Mediation was to be complete by February 29, 2016, and the plan submittal deadline, last I heard, was the end of March. In all my years of watching these things, I have never seen a debtor in possession be given as many extensions, mediations, and hearings as this one. We should be hearing from the Court soon. Until then, I will consider that Facebook update as just so much hot air. Puffery, if you will. -

It is not the first year for Kings Island...

Kings Island has been StormReady for several years now... Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...

Who to staff it? I keep hearing D. Kinzel is bored in retirement....

That doesn't mean they were supposed to or authorized to.

Not that I'm aware of...
