KI History comes alive!
Captain Nemo replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
As always a great read and wonderful photos. -
The last time I ever went to Coney was in 1999. It really went above my expectations. I was expecting more of a carnival that just happens to be fixed rides but Coney really knows how to play it off. By far Rock-o-Planes were my fav! I loved the fact I had control over the spinning.

I've been on the one in Florida when I was much younger. All I remember was the feeling like we were going near beyond vertical on the first initial drop.

I never noticed that, I guess that makes me less of a nerd. JK. Hope Disney is fun and going well for you D-Rider. Nice TR BTW, looked like fun.

I am happy that Kings Island still has the Oktoberfest lake since the Swan Lake is now gone. I always enjoy feeding the fish with the fish food.

They are fairly crowded in my area near Kenwood but I dont mind them much. They do seem to crowd our driveway at night near our garage door. There are a lot by Rivertown when I last visited KI but they are not very bothersome. They seem to stick to the trees.

We did own a Grumman 4 seater, single propeller engine. Dane and BoddaH1994 were all lucky to have the chance to fly up with me on its last flight, Bombay had a flight not to long ago. We now either rent planes or fly with friends of ours who own their own plane.

New aerial images of the Mystery Construction are now avalable. Take a peek at what the park is doing in the areas you don't have access to, that is, areas you don't have access to on foot! These aerials showcase the ever growing construction in the Swan Lake area and some action behind The Crypt. Enjoy. Aerials of the mystery construction! Cheers, Nemo

Sooner than you think!

It may have been a double ride day, but the park was not very crowded so I would guess that most associates allowed people to take a double ride.

Things have changed this year from what you may have remembered in past years. New names for rides and new shows. I wish school was out for me. My exam was on Wednesday at UC and the power went out during the storm so we have to make up for it next week.

Looks as if you had a great trip. I hope to go back to CP this year.

Tennessee Tornado is quite possibly the best Arrow Coaster I have been on.

Blind Erie Teenager Can't Ride Coaster
Captain Nemo replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well, according to the artical I read the park made this choice after the builders (Gravity Group) made it clear to what rules they apply to their coasters. I can from their standpoint understand 100% the reasons GG made these choices. Anyone having been on Voyage at Holiday World would understand what they mean by sharp turns and being able to brace ourself. I always brace myself before going into the double helix on The Beast. I would not really say 'Boo to Waldameer' as all they did is do what they feel is best for the safty of their guests. I do however feel they could have told the blind guest in a more respectable way. Do guests ride with their eyes closed... yes, but they still have that opportunity to open their eyes and brace them self. That is true, and kind of in some ways contradicts what is being talked about in this topic. I'm sure most of us have been on The Beast at night, boy can it get dark. It really depends on the park chain and the coaster builders. This is my opinion but I feel that as long as someone who is blind has an attendant riding along next to them, they should be able to ride. -
If you happen to see line jumping at the park make sure to tell a ride attendant.

At least it's not $4 a gallon ... yet :)
Captain Nemo replied to Lake54321's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm complaining that it is over 2 dollars! As my father says, the reason the gas prices went up is... Boy is that true, they will go up for just about anything. -
I moved on, I love Uniqua now!
-
The K/X base sign may be gone but they did make good use of it by putting the names of the great Firehawk and FoF names on them.
-
Im with Beaver. Remember guys, some people like rides to the extreme! I personally enjoy SOB. While I'll admit it is bumpy, it is not bothersome to me. I love SOB and rate it high on my coaster list.
-
Monster. While I am a thrill junky and could ride coasters over and over again, Monster is the only ride that will make me nauseous.
-
Does anyone here know how long it takes to create an entire set of track for a roller coaster?
-
I would not be to worried about a small child like that (if she ends up being 48 inches or over) going on the rides at KI. Knowing kids, they are always active doing things that (at times) are more intense than any coaster on this planet. As for the harness. They are made to fit anyone within the height range and safely secure them.

Ravine Flyer II taking shape
Captain Nemo replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
This is a success for the park. Years and years in the making I am so happy to see this coaster ready for opening! -
Agreed, anyone here who was upset that there was no new ride this year... this IS your new ride!

I saw the two annonomose members enter the crypt... they gave me a nod and we moved along with our plan! JK, Good seeing you guys at Crypt.
