  1. Is there a way to find this same information on the cw ride. It could help us determine what they will do here.
  2. For scale, on the right is flying ace. The spike is physically larger than it. I'm hoping with this shear size that they will let anyone ride.
  3. Fingers crossed. It would be a shame if so. This ride looks pretty cool!
  4. IICR. I saw last year in one of Cedar Fair's press releases, they are working on a complete app redesign/overhaul. It will be interesting what will come out of it. It could help enable them to do more things like this in the future with a more modern app.
  5. I've never and will never doubt the safety of the ride or any ride, I'm not sure why you keep bringing that up. I'm more talking about being someone who just wants the park to say *It won't be ready for a bit longer*, that's really all I want them to confirm.
  6. I am aware This is a family trip (Failed to mention), I talked it over and everyone is still fine with going to Carowinds despite Vortex and Fury not operating. We've never been there anyway so it's gonna be just fine. Yeah it sucks that fury isn't operating but that's life sadly. We likely will revisit Carowinds when/if they get a new ride. We've wanted to go to the park since 2021 so we don't wanna delay any further. As for Kings Dominion, we likely will go next year. I should of made it clear that I do not believe in any way shape or form that the park is being malicious about this, I always just like to say what's on my mind and sometimes it's not the sharpest / most refined thoughts. I never believe things at face value, research and common sense are a great force to combat hysteria / misinformation from the public and press. I appreciate that parks take to time to regularly inspect, repair, and take time to make decisions that are best for the safety and comfort of guests. The reason I am slightly upset with the sudden silence in this situation is that they made 2 updates within 6 days of each other and doing the things inside those updates, (ex: the testing and replacement timeline). My main concern is that they just all of a sudden stopped all activity after the testing and such, a statement giving a status update along the lines of "Here's what we found, this is what we're doing about it, this is why this is normal, here's what we plan on doing after said action is taken*. It would help people planning on going to the park the assurance that the ride needs more time to have something done to it. I realize though that such a statement would drive down sales since people would likely go elsewhere. The press is ruthless and is unpredictable for how you will be portrayed. The main point I'm trying to say here is that I don't really care that much if we get another update or not, I really just see it as a missed opportunity for those (like me) who were planning on going to the park to update people on such a popular / iconic ride. Carowinds DOES NOT have ANY obligation to give updates, they didn't have to give these updates but they chose to. Wether you believe it was to combat misinformation, media hysteria, satisfy investors, or by the kindness of their own heart, we will likely not know. I personally think they should continue doing these updates but then again, I am some guy on the internet who does not work for that same publicly traded company, I am a fan of said publicly traded company not an industry expert. If everyone in the world had my same opinion on that, there likely would be more updates but my opinion is just 1 of many, many opinions. I don't really like to get too heated about these things, it can really tear into me if I don't stop the negative thoughts. My logic and thought process is not the same as anyone else, nor is anyone else thinking one way or another the exact same, I just hope that I can express my concerns in a way to give others a better perspective on what people who may see things different may be thinking in one moment.
  7. This silence is really making me question if we should go to Kings Dominion instead, We will be visiting family in the PA area and going to Kennywood on monday, from there, we are planning on going to Carowinds. It seems like it was supposed to open last week but the sudden silence has me scrambling. If it doesn't open by Monday, we may just go to KD instead. The communication was great at first but now it's seems like they do not want to release any statements as they found something and do not want bad press and / or do not want to give people a timeline that may change (Ex: Worlds of Fun)
  8. I've heard it the past few years. I think it just needs to be bumped up a few ticks
  9. Never had this happen before on any ride. Just rode The Beast and when we got to the end of the ride it was clear that we were stacked. So then it takes a minute then they send out an empty train so I then know that either it's a puke train or the ride went down. We waited for a long while sitting there so I then know that the ride is down. I then see a trickle of people leaving the ride. They send out the train in the station, when we get there they said "welcome back, please wait for an attendant to assist you to exit". Then I hear the saddest sounding lapbar buzz. Turns out the auto lapbar mechanism wasn't working, so they had to use screwdrivers to manually unlock each lapbar.
  10. I always wear zipper pants, I love them so much. Yes, I said zipper pants, the heat doesn't bother my legs, it's infinitely more comfortable especially if you sit in a seat that is slightly sticky or wet, its much better than having your skin touch the filth. Can't say the same for my arms though, those have to wait until it gets cold out.
  11. The Bat doesn't have a Fast Lane line so it wouldn't make sense there I think they are pulling a six flags in that they don't want to spend money on train wear and tear, I assume that there could be a parts shortage / long wait time for parts for those rides so they are only running 1 train in order to keep those costs to a minimum or there are parts that they need but again, could be a delay in getting them so they can only run 1 and use the other train as a parts train in the meantime. There really is no other reason I could think of that is a good thing about it. It's just all negative.
  12. Out of every time I've rode it this year, it always is hilarious to me that the original forbidden temple lift sfx works 100% of the time over the brand new stuff. I can count on my hands how many times I have rode it where all sfx worked correctly. I've had it loop *Come in Adventure Express* the whole time up the lift and even after dropping it still played, other times the final sfx doesn't work half the time, sometimes no audio on lift 1 until the very end *stay vigilant, and be careful* plays. It's very broken. I don't even know how in 2023, the old stuff works way better than the new stuff.
  13. I'm all for blocking troll / scam / harassing accounts but blocking basically anyone who has any sort of critique, complaint, concern, question, etc that isn't straight up harassment and are valid points really is a terrible look for a public relations specialist. Your public relationship with the public is the entire point of the job. By going on a blocking spree like this, it's like banning someone from the park for having a criticism about the park. If you aren't willing to take heat and just crumble, it shows how unqualified you truly are for the position. Public Relations is the job, the public isn't always the best, I fully acknowledge that there are crazy people out there that choose to be angry about anything and everything. When it comes to someone who just is concerned or is critical of something, it is your job to ease the tension. Choosing to ignore it altogether means you do not have what it takes to deal with the public. Just my 2 cents or sense however you like to say it
  14. www.visitkingsisland.com/haunt Safe for the time being!
  15. Hope Kings Island doesn't, sounds like an absolute mess to implement for a park that has never done separate before.
  16. I don't see anything wrong with these. They don't really say that the rides are brand new, it's more of a general behind the scenes video
  17. 90% of the workers didn't care and gave me a cup. Only 1 of them said to go to guest services because it had a *Not Valid* label on it. The pass still showed up but had the label. That same person did say it was grey area and still gave me a cup. Honestly, the workers don't care at all. They are still able to redeem it even if it says not valid. The not valid label pops up because you did not technically enter the park with it but you can't since it's a gold pass so it's strange that it would do it. TL;DR most workers will still give you a cup, even if one says no then go to another one.
  18. Didn't this almost happen early last season with Orion where there almost was a collision at the station but the ride ops did stop it from happening in Orion's case.
  19. Officer, please. I just want my maple infused water from the cw vip lounge.
