I was just browsing on google images of PKI images and found a Italian Job: Stunt Track on ride photo. I vaguely remember it having an on ride photo, when did that disappear?

Should KI and Cedar Fair Discontinue Halloween Haunt?
Jasper replied to RaptorGuy's topic in Kings Island
I was there in the mob of 40,000 people on Saturday and left the park around 9:45-10:00 and did not see on ScareActor on the way out, and we walked all the way from The Beast, to the gate. I saw the fog, how could you miss it, I saw the lines of people, how could you miss it, but I did not see one single person lurking in the shadows to scare the daylights out of me, not one. I know it was only 10 and they might come out later, but it was pretty thick with fog and dark and I was expecting to see them out in droves. -
That's not my usual plan, but if Maverick pulls an INTAMIN..... Terp, who is fond of closing day at Maple Grove Where and what is Maple Grove? That sounds like an amusement park in the early 1900's! Maple Grove is dear Terp's nickname for that beloved Amazement Park on the Lake, in the north of Ohio. If you see der Point. What would KICentral be like without good ole Terp'isms?

My first ride ever on Top Gun I still remember to this day. I was with my dad and his brother and the whole entire ride they were spouting off these one liners like, "I feel the need....the need....for speed!" "Jester's dead!" "Goose, I am gonna slam on the brakes he'll fly right by." I had no idea what was going on because I had never seen the movie. I remember looking at the billboard with the Gillete logo on it and if I am not mistaken, even the trains had the logo slapped on the back of every car. I also remember on the tunnel there used to be painted, "Fightertown USA" and it had like stars with blue circles around them. I am about 95% I have seen all of this before, I could be wrong, but like I said I am very sure that the ride's theme used to have this.

I will be at the park with a group of 4-5 of us and yes, my final ride will be The Beast and I am going for the last train.

Hearing all of these replies and posts make me really want to work at the park. It seems like an overall great place to work at.

It's almost the end of the summer.....

I currently work at Kohl's here in Richmond and after a year I only got a 20 cent raise which bumped me from 7.25 to 7.45 an hour. I usually only get around 20 hours a week or less where I am a student and that doesn't do much but it helps that I still live at home. I would have a roommate most likely living with me as we are both interested in jobs at the park. Judging from the posts so far though, you start out at minimum wage which would be hard to live off of unless you put in more than 40 hours a week which would not be a problem with me as I consider myself to have a very strong work ethic. The department I would most want to work in would be obviously rides though, so I can imagine that is a department where everyone wants to work.

It has always been something I have wanted to do, work at Kings Island. Although I have always been unable to where I live an hour and a half away. From the way this article reads working for the park would be a job that would make you get up and almost want to go to work. I do have few quick questions though. 1.How long of days do you usually work? 2.Is the pay substansial enough to where if you work a 40 hour week you can support yourself in an apartment? 3.Are there any requirements to work in certain areas, such as rides, or games?

Jasper just because the season is over doesnt meen you cant take a drive over to the park and knowing it will be waiting for you in 2011 . I have been to KI many of times durring the off season and when I go I know I can't ride but I know I'm at Kings Island. It's just hard to see it in a dormant state and even though I know it will be open for 2011 I still want to do so much more at the park.

I love all 3 coasters, but my favorite would have to be the big daddy, The Voyage. Even though, as everyone has pointed out, all 3 coasters are amazing and trimless.

I love going for the creepy atmosphere of the park, however I could do without the crowds. I also go because to me there is nothing better than a day at Kings Island, there are no bad days to me. I do love the chilly evenings with rides on The Beast bundled up. Overall just because I know the season is almost over so I want to go and enjoy my last few visits for the season.

Should KI and Cedar Fair Discontinue Halloween Haunt?

^I think that would be a much better system, it would weed out the people who only come for Haunt and those who want to come and ride the coasters. -
Should KI and Cedar Fair Discontinue Halloween Haunt?
Jasper replied to RaptorGuy's topic in Kings Island
I have been reading this topic for some time now and have just been reading everyone else responses. After going to my second Haunt last year and my first one the year before that I was very dissapointed in the scare factor I got out of the mazes. There were only a couple of times I got really really scared. It does bring in a huge crowd to the park though, just ask everyone that was there on Saturday the 9th. I believe that they should not cancel Haunt, but go to the older, Paramount Fearfest set up. Make it a separate admission, that way, those who do not like Haunt can leave with their kids or just themselves and those that want to go just for Haunt will come when it is time for the Monsters to come out. That way you will have a less crowded park in the day and a kids event going on, and then at night you will have those who choose to come and get scared. As for the monsters at the front of the park, I left on Saturday around 10:00 and I did not see one single monster out running around scaring people. Literally, not a single one. -
I was at the park as well and it was jam packed all day long. I had to get my Drop Tower fix in of course and stood in a full queue house for an hour and fifteen minute wait. Then they only had one side of Racer going so the queue house was open and still spilling out into the midway. The Beast around 8:30 was out in the midway with every queue house open, and not to mention when we got off around 9:30 or later, it was all the way down to Diamondback's splashdown. Definitely one of the most crowded days I have ever experienced at Kings Island.

Even up in the 2000's you could still hear the soundtrack blaring out even before you got in line. Those were the days, so I can only imagine what I would have thought back when it first opened and was themed very well.
-
It's included just like any other show, but if you want "ringside" seats they'll set you back $10.00. Meh, ringside, meh. I am not sure after reading the reviews that I even want to go see the show. Might as well spend my time waiting in line for a haunted house or riding.

I can honestly say I have only seen KIs fireworks display once, even though I have been in the park until close and after close several times. I am always in line for The Beast and get to a point where all I can do is hear the fireworks and see the lights from them on the ground.
-
I do have a question concerning the HPB. Is admission thrown in with park admission or is there a separate ticket needed to watch the show? The reason I ask is because I saw that on KI's Twitter page they were giving away two tickets to Haunt and two front row passes to see the brawlers in action.
-
Very nice video Adam, really cool to see a view like that of fireworks.
-
^I will probably go see the event one day while I am at the park, am I ready for it? Do I want to see it? Meh, it wouldn't matter to me if they did have it or not, if it is entertaining when I see it then I will get good enjoyment out of it, if it is not, then I will not go back again and consider it a lesson learned.

If I had to guess, the brakes slow the car down on the fall and then as the gondola gets to a certain the point, the brakes either weaken enough to slowly lower it or there is a computer of sort that releases the brakes just enough to lower it down to the stopped position.

I am about 6' 3" and the restraints seems to fit snug around my shoulders but not enough to make it uncomfortable on me. I have also never experienced a ride on Drop Tower with it not spinning this year and I have done my fair share of riding on it. To me tough the spinning is almost pointless as by the time it gets done spinning you have not gained enough altitude to see really anything. I for one, do not care where I sit as I love Drop Tower regardless of the view or if she spins, I will always love her. Although, I am kind of fond of seats 39-3 as they give you the best view of Son of Beast and the back half of Coney Mall. Can anyone answer me this question though, has Drop Zone, as it was when it opened, ever spun the entire way up? Or has it just been a single spin and go.

This is kind of along the lines of Guests DO The Darndest things. Me and Fighting31Irish were at Kings Island one day in late May and we got ready to board Drop Tower so we took our bags and hats and set them to the side and came back to see that there were 3 people in the seats that we were supposed to have. When we confronted them the lady said, "Oh, I didn't know what that number he gave us meant, were from out of town, how are we suppose to know." Same thing has happened to me on Delirium before as well.

Nice find, but as far I have seen I don't think anyone has really contradicted the death of Tower Johnny. It has been known for a long while now.
