  1. Did you miss the part where they "added" a new area called X-Base and added a now-faded aircraft runway paint job on the ground? Did you miss the part where almost three-quarters of Rivertown was redone with the neat pavers and Beast received a new entrance plaza? Did you miss the part where the entirety of Coney Mall received the neat pavers alongside the new plaza between WindSeeker and Vortex?
  2. If The Crypt moniker is re-used, then I can either see the suffix "Haunted Attraction" added below, or, as a nod to the event's past, the prefix " Curse of" added above. Either way the wind blows, people are going to be confused regardless due to the fact that the attraction will reside in, and, from what should be expected, use the same set pieces of the former ride itself. I'm pretty sure people were confused when Wolf Pack debuted thinking they were going to ride SBNO after exiting the maze.
  3. Wait, you mean it had a line to begin with?
  4. If it's what I'm thinking of, the park would tweet for everyone to grab a lawn chair, a cold glass of lemonade and meet them in the parking lot to partake in the demolition ceremony. Also, didn't we have an argument last summer about support pieces falling off the track and people attempting to confirm the bogus claims just from riding Adventure Express?
  5. Wow these names are great! My personal favorites are Mondo Monsoon, Aruba Tuba, and Breakers Bay.
  6. Yes...I mean at least they could have gotten another couple songs to play... Also, now every time I hear Calendar Girl (not much, hah), it gives me chills... Man, I'm so glad we weren't in line for Holiday Horror long enough to hear that multiple times, even though we went through it a good three times.
  7. ....Raptor? REALLY? I'd go Silver Bullet or Afterburn (or even Patriot) before I'd ever choose Raptor.
  8. Landscaping still counts as an attraction in my book, and since rides are also attractions....
  9. The 2012 Haunt season. Which is a part of the 2012 operating season for Kings Island. I'd trust teenageninja on this.
  10. It's about time someone other than IOA got a Dueling Inverted Beemer...
  11. It does have a long line; no one just wants to walk it just to get to the coaster.
  12. I've ridden C2MR and I'd rather keep Adventure Express. That said, I'd switch: Linus Launcher for Flying Eagles King's Island Thunder Alley for Backlot Stunt Track (move to Thunder Alley's spot) Backlot Stunt Coaster for Antique Cars (move to BLSC's old spot)
  13. With all of the attractions being renamed, it is assumed that all of the previous Australian theming and signage will be removed. Hopefully the foliage that was planted during the first remodel from WaterWorks to Boomerang Bay remains, and even some more trees/shrubbery are planted. It is also assumed that all of the previous safety spiels will be redone to accommodate the change.
  14. Now that's what I call International! Perhaps it's time for a slight name change and/or retheme. Annex Oktoberfest as a part of I-Street and rename the area to something along the lines of International Plaza or Bazaar.
  15. Looks like the second wave pool (and new path connecting the former Snowy River Rampage to the former Jackeroo Landing) will be put to good use with the larger crowds set to flock to Wet Willie's Water World now that it's not-quite-next-door-but-still-relatively-close neighbor has unfortunately gone into retirement.
  16. Come this October we will be able to do a walk through of the building now that the ride is gone. 'Course, there will guys in masks hiding in the corners waiting for opportune moments to leap out and scare unsuspecting passersby, but still...
  17. Flight of Fear does have a pre-show with the film that plays on the TVs in the hangar. Granted, it's not like it was years ago when the surroundings were in sync with what was happening on screen (mostly the lights matching up with the chaos and even having the hangar go pitch black simulating a power failure), but it's a pre-show nonetheless. There are actually sound effects played amidst the music of a monster growling. Besides, the soundtrack on the lift hill is fine, Seibert and all. Flight Deck used to have a (somewhat) elaborate queue experience way back when it first opened, as guests walked through a sort of debriefing room on an airport hangar, and fog would occasionally billow into the station itself. And I really wouldn't try to compare Kings Island to a Disney park, like most people here have pointed out. A better example would be a park like Dollywood, or possibly Busch Gardens Williamsburg (some European parks like Phantasialand, Alton Towers, and Europa Park would work, too).
  18. Most likely because those with authority wouldn't even hint at their plans for 2013 at this year's West Coast Bash and silenced those who tried to ask/tell.
  19. Most attractions in the hard park require you to have shoes on when riding. Only those without floors (like Invertigo Blue: The Da-Ba-Deexperience and Drop Tower) or ones that run the risk of loose articles falling (Delirium and the former Crypt) are the ones in which riding barefoot/shoeless is optional. Granted, almost everyone I know who rides D-Back (myself included) can't touch the train floor with their feet, but the ride still has a floor.
  20. Have you seen how crowded the first wave pool gets on a Saturday any day during the summer in 90 degree heat? Fix'd. I've seen it packed even on a Wednesday.
  21. Thanks, sir, appreciate the insight. Also, how often would you say the ride breaks down? To me, and by what my dad has told me, Firehawk seems to be running a course likewise to The Bat's, with its frequent breakdowns and closings. Let me say this: in the five years the ride has been at the park, I have yet to see it operate a full week with both stations running. If the ride hasn't completely shut down due to maintenance issues, then usually it's only running one station, and hopefully with both trains available. I love the experience the ride gives, but when it has the longest wait in the park on even the slowest of days (D-Back gets a near walk-on but I have to wait an hour for Hawk?!), I more often than not pass it up and/or just ride Flight of Fear.
  22. This is more for the off-season than the regular season, for obvious reasons...
  23. At least then we'd have a proper CornStalkers attraction for Haunt rather than sticking corn husks in the middle of an oversized smoking area.
  24. This is what happens in the off-season. Some just seem fit to take out their frustration of not being at the park on other posters.
