Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Double posting... Something fun to see is that Six Flags Over Georgia is directly hosting a Pride Month Celebration from 6/1-6/30, complete with Pride merchandise and proceeds donations to a local organization in Atlanta. The event is also highlighted as a big part of their Summerbration lineup. Magic Mountain is the only other Six Flags park that I've seen advertising a Pride event (in August) with their Out on the Mountain event, held in the park by a third-party organization. I know there has also been a Pride Night at Kings Island in September, but that event is not put on by or advertised by the park. Especially not like SFOG's event is. I haven't checked too many other Six Flags park websites, but this is the only event like this that I've seen anywhere across Six Flags this year. It's really nice to see this event happening and being readily shown on their website! This year has been quite scary for LGBTQ+ folks (for obvious reasons) and a Pride celebration would have been super easy for corporate to put their foot down on and cut out of the lineup. SFOG and Six Flags America will also be holding a Juneteenth Celebration event on 6/19 (aka Juneteenth). Happy Pride! Event Website: https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/events/six-flags-pride-celebration Another thought while I'm here: A number of the Legacy Six Flags parks have begun to use a different logo than the one seen pre-merger. The words are more balanced and similarly sized (still using the Neue Kabel typeface) and there is no roller coaster outline in the background. The exclamation point holding the six flags is also sometimes missing (see the event logo above). Off the top of my head, I've seen Over Texas, Over Georgia, Magic Mountain, and Great Adventure use this new variation. The usage does depend on what you're looking at, but this is a new change. -
Kings Island General Discussion 2025

I haven't looked too far into it, but is it safe to assume that the ticket/free drinks combo is just a free drink plan for the day/season? It looks like this might partially be a promotion through Coca-Cola. I don't know that they would be allowed to put "Presented by Coca-Cola" on the images if it was entirely from the chain. The whole thing is a disservice to the people who bought their season pass and drink plan back in August and are ending up with the higher total. It'd be better if the end total was higher now. The promotion is an awesome idea! I just wish the situation didn't make those who bought their passes 10 months ago feel like they've been cheated. This smells like desperation with hints of bad timing for a cool pass promo -
Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026

I did some looking online and I think this rockwork from Camp Snoopy at Cedar Point may fit my idea for a pond a little better than the one at Carowinds. Cedar Point's Camp Snoopy waterfall (Image: Google Street View) Carowinds' Camp Snoopy pre-2017 waterfall (Image: Google Street View) -
You'd think the cicadas and the rain would have kept more people away. The cicadas definitely make the park more (un)comfortably crowded with how many there are.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I would assume the $35 million number is too expensive because that is more than was spent on Orion, and the park has been "on a budget" with their recent additions since 2020. If this ride were to cost similarly it would be the newest "biggest investment in park history" (at least I think that's what they said for Orion). No matter whether is it a dynamic motion stage or a madhouse or a top spin, the likelihood for that much money to be put into this and have a similar investment into a major coaster within the next 5 years is quite low. As always, I may be misremembering the facts, but I think I got them right. Simply, I think if we want a worthy Vortex replacement, we cannot expect this family thrill attraction to be another biggest investment in park history with that price tag. -
While I hope TT2's issues are able to be fixed in a timely manner, I wonder at what point the park would decide to pull the plug. Its time being closed has brought nothing but ill will to Cedar Point and its marketing. Every comment section will continue to be littered with "I drove [x amount of hours] to come to Cedar Point only to find Top Thrill 2 closed". This thrilling Frankenstein's Monster of a coaster has been in almost every piece of advertising material the park has put out for a little over two years now, and it has only run for about 30 days total? If it does get torn down, the area where the hill is would unironically be a great spot for a new family coaster, à la Snoopy's Soap Box Racers! Similarly to how Kings Island needs another big thrill coaster, Cedar Point needs a new family coaster in one of their children's areas. Cedar Point already has a ton of major coasters and this one just keeps causing trouble. I hope Top Thrill 2 has a bright and prosperous future, but at some point it needs to be realized that it is harming the park more than it is not.

It's once again a rather expensive lawn ornament... While it's down I wish the park would take some time to look into re-redoing the locker situation so it is small items only and up near the station. The loose articles policy an locker implementations at Epic Universe seems to be the best. For those who haven't seen... (hidden for those who are somehow still EU spoiler free and don't want to know anything) They could at least put a real fence to block the existing lockers from those who some may call "hooligans".

Vekoma Madhouse in 2028?
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Cedar Fair Fanboy's topic in Coming Attractions
It looks like it may fit! The big ugly building is about 90' by 90' so I'll have to go measure the HHMP building to be sure. I use Google Maps a lot but my experiences with the 3D view distortion has broken my brain -
Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026

I wonder what they'll do with the front areas of the building. The bridge over the lowered floor is super cool to me. They could stand to lose the bamboo though. The old pre-show room would be great for either a) a preshow (duh), or b) a little more indoor queue space. If this announcement is held in the same manner as those over the past few years, it'll be a social media post at 3AM (spooky!) around or on the date that 2026 passes first go on sale. The new Soak City additions were announced on 8/8/2024 — the same day 2025 passes went on sale. -
Vekoma Madhouse in 2028?
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Cedar Fair Fanboy's topic in Coming Attractions
Can someone post the required minimum dimensions for a Vekoma Madhouse attraction? I looked at the space needed for a dynamic motion stage, but even that was hard for me to find. Are there different sizes as well? I'd love to see the highest capacity one that will fit go in if that is what the attraction is! -
I hope we can see some people who want to do these events come into leadership after things settle down more across Six Flags (although that unfortunately may not be until after 2030 depending on what happens)! The camaraderie seems like one of the best parts of these events, so I'm glad attendees are able to make the situation better that way.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
My idea with the spring is mainly so it can be taller (I like the back "wall" of the game and how it blocks the view behind it), while keeping the floorspace big enough for a small pond. Celestial Park-style cascading waterfalls would be nice, although I don't know how good they would look in that space. I like the idea of the cave and rock waterfall, but that may be a little hard to do with the height and space constrictions. Canada's Wonderland did just do some new rock work on Wonder Mountain that go around AlpenFury's supports. I wonder if something similar would work for the base of Diamondback's helix supports. These are some good ideas! Thank you for indulging me. That game seems to have not been set up for this season so I'm curious what'll happen with the space. If anyone has a good picture of that empty game spot in the daylight, please post it here or direct me to it. I think I'd like to see what I could do with it in (the ridiculously expensive) Photoshop. I'd miss the Winterfest photo-op if it went away, but I think this could be a nicer looking use of the land. -
Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Would they mention it using the words "unruly behavior", or would they use something even less biting? I think it's been said that the shareholders saw right through the Investor Day euphemisms so I wouldn't expect them to be fooled by this. Serious question: If a majority of shareholders don't like something about the direction of the company, is there anything they can do? Anything short of selling their shares, that is. -
Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I personally think the park should remove the axe/soccer game location and use that space for a nice water feature to compliment the new ride's entrance. Some sort of rock wall with an artificial spring/waterfall would be nice. Bonus points to the park if they redo the pathway between that and the gravel towards Diamondback (Swan) Lake to look like a bridge, similar to the one between Mystic Timbers' entrance and exit. I'd be oh so happy to see something like this (see below) scaled up and placed in that spot with a small pond near the pathway. Think similarly to the entrance to Camp Snoopy at Carowinds with the canoe. That would also be a great spot for the ride I.D. sign. I think it could go on the right side of the fountain in front of the Diamondback support where part of the photo booth pad is now. Bring some more water back to Rivertown and let it flow freely : ) -
Miami River Brewhouse Review 6/7/2025: We absolutely did not want to stay stationary at an outside table long enough to be touched by the cicadas, so we headed over to the Miami River Brewhouse for lunch. I absolutely hate cicadas with a passion so they did sour my park visit today. We went to the Brewhouse this afternoon and had a very convenient experience. I got a plain Big Dog, and a Coke. My drink was good and standard and lasted well throughout my time in the restaurant, no notes. It was packed in there, and a wonderful associate was able to clean off a table for us right after another group got up. While waiting for our food I looked around and realized that about half of the tables I could immediately see were also waiting for their food. Our buzzer went off once or twice before it was supposed to. I don't know exactly how those work, so I can't explain why that happens. Any insight would be appreciated. My food was nice and warm and I finished most of it before realizing I was full. Brewhouse definitely provides a proper American-sized portion. There were still people pouring into the building by the time we left. The amount of unoccupied tables never seemed to get above zero for more than 10 seconds. If anything, to me that is an indication that Kings Island needs another large indoor dining location like the Brewhouse. Maybe the KillMart building could be used (with some additional square footage in the back for a kitchen). As a whole I'd rate this experience at 4/5 Stars. Our receipt still said "King's Island" at the top. I have a feeling this will not be corrected anytime soon, even though it seems like an easy fix. It's nitpicky, but I think the park should have its name spelled correctly everywhere within the park. We strolled over to the Festhaus to watch Country Crossroads, so I decided to take the opportunity and get a drink. The associate looked tired (today looked like it took a toll on everyone), but I hope they are able to get some rest. None of these associates are getting paid enough to deal with these crowds. All three machines seemed to be fully functional and full of ice! My Coca-Cola tasted great. The show seemed a little fast, although I had a busy day yesterday so I may still be coming down from that. So far, my overall 2025 Kings Island dining experience is still rated at 4/5 Stars!

Peanuts at Six Flags Parks?
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to kingsislandfan1972's topic in Kings Island
I could definitely see Great America getting a Planet Snoopy or Camp Snoopy. From what I can see on their map, the park has three small areas for kids rides, but no singular "land" dedicated to children and families like Planet/Camp Snoopy at the Legacy Cedar Fair parks and Bugs Bunny National Park at Legacy Six Flags parks (although a number of Six Flags parks don't really label their lands). Things will probably look a lot more like Cedar Fair when attractions get announced and the new apps/maps come out. -
I'd love to see if anyone attended both Coasterstock and Cedar Point's event that just happened. The posts I've seen make it sound like a lot of things were promised and not at all delivered at Coastermania, while Coasterstock was fine besides the traditions that were broken. I don't trust a lot of stuff I see on Facebook to be the common thought these days (since it is simply an amplifier of bad news), but there were way too many comments for it to just be a bad sample size. Is this a result of Six Flags cuts to management and budget? Who knows

I wonder if it got demolished because it would've blocked the view of the lift hill from Diamondback's entrance and ID sign. I could see a scenario where Cedar Fair wanted their first big/brand new coaster's lift hill to be visible from as many angles as possible, especially the entrance. Having the building as part of the queue would've been awesome. It would have also allowed Rivertown to retain more of its "town" feel. I personally prefer Maverick's entrance because of the buildings, and I think Kings Island would be doing themselves a favor to enclose that top part of Diamondback's cattle pen queue with a building similar to the one Rivertown Mining Co. was in.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I hope they choose to paint that BUB (big ugly building) or do something to try to hide it better from part of the skyline. There's no chance the park opts to put a mountain or anything else that could actually hide it around it, but some leafy green and sky blue paint could go a long way. Open up that entrance plaza just a little more into the grass right there to put a photo op in. And please, please, please do not get rid of the foliage on top of the entrance. There has already been enough taken out of Rivertown. I know the planning and theming team got laid off, but I will hold out hope that whoever is designing this ride will do something more than just an unthemed flat ride in a box with all of the Madame Fatale's pre-show decorations still put up. The nightmare scenario for me is something like a Zamperla Nebulaz shoved in there with the overhead lights turned off during the ride cycle. I wouldn't be opposed to something like a 4-table Demolition Derby (Mater's Junkyard Jamboree) with more theming than just the ride vehicles and operator booth. Best case scenario for me is something like a Vekoma Madhouse (Villa Volta) or an Intamin Dynamic Motion Stage (Danse Macabre). That last one is specifically classified as a "Family Thrill" attraction on Intamin's website, btw. Let's hope Six Flags budget tightening doesn't ruin this ride opportunity. Does anyone have a fun idea of what this "family thrill" attraction could be and what could fit in that building? I believe it is 90ft x 90ft square floor (not including any remaining TR:TR rock theming or anything else). I have no clue about the height. -
Food & Wine 2025 Reviews
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Kings Island
The event as a whole definitely felt bigger than it did last year. If the park will not open the festival up to the rest of the park, I'd like to see it expand to the outlined space. Serene space in Tower Gardens, a show and seating in the festival tent, additional food and wine stands near the floral clock, and additional activities around the Eiffel Tower. It would be nice to not have any big sheds in the circle around the Eiffel Tower since the pathway feels cramped with them there. I would personally prefer to not see F&W decorations across the whole park. Leave that for Haunt and Winterfest. If it's something where festival food options can be found at existing stands around the park then I'd be much more open to it. Same with Grand Carnivale and any other summer festival Kings Island hopes to host. -
Kings Island 2025 Special Events
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Timchat2's topic in Kings Island
The advertising thought was mostly just wishful thinking I do think we got some decor from Kings Dominion, but I agree that increasing setup time would hurt events. That's why any clearly visible "empty" building in the park is permanently used for Haunt mazes. I think the park should build more backstage/easily hidden infrastructure (like Slaughterhouse) for that purpose so we can get some additional space activation — I'm looking at you, KillMart. I also think their Grand Carnivale parade floats also went to Fiesta Texas this year since they weren't using them, though I'm less sure about that. On a similar topic, I have reason to believe that both Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland are receiving their own dedicated festival areas. Carowinds already has a little astroturf area across from Thunder Striker, and it looks like a new one is going in to the left of Harmony Hall where their Snow Flake Lake usually is. I haven't seen if they're getting a tent like ours, but I'd assume it'll be similar. All of the site prep has reflected KI's so far. Wonderland seems to be getting a festival area to the left of their Moroccan Bazaar under AlpenFury's Skyflyer Loop. That one has pavers (since it is also a viewing area for AlpenFury) and a stage. I'll note that Wonderland is also hosting a Food & Wine Festival, so I'd be interested to see what happens with theirs. They seem to be one of the best sources for Kings Island info! If only the park would acknowledge their existence... -

A few coats of paint and a nice little planting of flowers around the front outside of the curb would make it look so much better. Bonus points to the park if they put a little sign up near the path. Also some more trees around the spots where they cannot put a small flat ride or small buildings. Realistically the park should also put a little post & chain fence up all along that whole pathway. -
Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Wristbands with a QR code would have been a fine enough replacement, but I would hate to have to pull out my phone every time I wanted to see what was coming next in my day. All of the events I've been to where the decision was made to use either phones or lanyards, I enjoyed the lanyards 100% more than I did my phone. Some decisions Six Flags has made make me wonder who up top has set foot inside most of these parks, even just in either legacy chain. The number who have spent meaningful time in all of the parks is probably much less than that. -
Kings Island 2025 Special Events
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to Timchat2's topic in Kings Island
I have some hope for Grand Carnivale now that I know we got some of Kings Dominion's stuff from their Food & Wine Festival last year. It would not be a surprise to see even more Carnivale decorations since Kings Island is the only park having it this year. That event has also always been much bigger than the Food & Wine Festival. The park doesn't even need to move the festival dates if they don't want to. They just need to schedule their show times to actually alternate. There is no parade for F&W, so it's not like Winterfest where no shows can run for two hours while the parade is set up and run. I can't imagine why someone would schedule every performance to run at the same time. That being said, moving the festival dates toward the beginning of the season would give the park something to advertise and get guests to visit in late April/early May.
