  1. The license for the Nicktoons that Cedar Fair got by buying Paramount Parks runs out in 2010. Cedar Fair can renew the license for a fee, they can also expand it to the other parks for a fee.
  2. How long has ACE been talking about a muesum now?
  3. Actually Carowinds takes better care of Hurler than everyone thinks. Hurler was retracked TWICE in 2006. And one of thoose was done during the summer season. Carowinds only had Hurler closed for two days while they done it.
  4. I used to be one of the idiots that took a camera on rides, but once I found out it was actually against the rules I stopped. Getting a good picture isn't worth getting in trouble, or worse hurting someone.
  5. Or the owner may be an employee of the park and has chosen to refrain from running/being involved in such a community. Justin(KDC Owner) is a friend of mine, and he shut down the site due to relations with the park. I will say this, Carowinds tried to get me to shut down Carowinds Zone, but I told them "No, I spent too much time working on the site. If you were smart, you would see that Carowinds Zone is actually a free asset to the park." ~Roller"Search for Carowinds on Google.com, and Carowinds Zone is number 4"Nut!
  6. Carowinds calls March to June, their preseason. During "Preseason", they generally don't have the park 100% ready to go.
  7. Yes, Saturator is still there, but it is closed until May. As a matter of fact it and Taxi Chase got new paint(same colors). New Nighthawk logo Flyers got repainted AFX got a new name and logo
  8. Carowinds offically opened for the 2008 season yesterday and Carowinds Zone sent a representive to the park to bring us back an update. Changes ~Hurler has a red train now ~Happy Days Diner is now Jukebox Diner ~The BORG Sphere is GONE ~YoYo opened in the County Fair More coming later this afternoon. Also, you can see Yo Yo in action, http://www.carowindszone.com/yoyo.php
  9. The only amusement park I have been to get a meal for a good price at is Tweetsie Railroad. I fe(e?)d me, and my at the time pregnant wife(5 months then) for a little more than 15 dollars. I almost made myself sick because it was so good, and one BBQ plate had more than enough for two people.
  10. I can only imagine, Carowinds has been bad with their food prices for as long as I can remember. Knowing Carowinds, the regular price is something like $28.99, maybe more. Last time I had a season pass, the discount was 10 park dollars for 9 US dollars, I believe that something like 10% isn't it. So applying the same numbers to the coupon, it would be $25.99. Thats sounds too low to be an good guess.
  11. I would love to, but sadly I can't. RollerNut won't be returning to Carowinds until August 14th, 2011. Until then, Carowinds Zone has to have other people report back with information and pictures. Once I can return to Carowinds, I will bring back all the information I can for ya'll and Carowinds Zone will be getting a lot more updates. The song "Far Away" performed by "Nickelback" comes to my mind on this topic... ~Roller "Barred from heaven for no good reason" Nut
  12. I don't think HW ever did give out free Cokes. http://holidayworld.com/fusd.html Cokes, no. Pepsi, yes. I may be wrong but Carowinds has an unlimited soft drinks wristband that picnicers can get for a price.
  13. Not to be negitive but there is alot of information missing that could aid in them getting donations. Examples are, what people get in return(other than knowing they helped), and whether or not the donation is tax decutable. I think a better solution for CLP would be to lease the park out to a outside company to run, or something to this effect.
  14. I just started working on my first layout in N scale. It is 96" by 42". I have a small 10x12' building that I am trying to fix up before I built a bigger one.
  15. Darn, it is ashame I am married, and have a child. I have always wanted to be a cheerleader, wondering if they will be doing pydamins. ~Roller "Honey, Can I be a cheerleader?" Nut
  16. I know this is slightly a bad comparsion but my building is over 20 years old. The 2x4s that make up the frame are in perfect condition however, the plywood in rotting away. If the Eagle is made from treated wood, it may not be in too bad shape. Phoenix was relocated in the 80s for 1.5 million dollars, since Eagle is smaller I imagine moving it a short distance compared to halfway cross the country would be about the same costs. I doubt it will ever be moved however.
  17. SFNO is still closed, and I wouldn't expect it to reopen.
  18. Yes, but there are normally many other factors too. Normally being maintenance costs, location, and age.
  19. Ok, let me rephase it. I am a huge fan of Scooby-Doo and the dark rides at the former Paramount Parks, however, I believe that the parks need a more adult and scary dark ride to appeal to teens and adults. Families may be the name of the game, but not all members of the family want to ride Scooby-Doo. Furthermore, a scary dark ride with "Fright Lights" would make the ride more challenging because if you don't see the monsters's targets or the monsters themselves then you have to look for them which will inturn distract you from "the monster around the corner", which will inturn create reridability.
  20. I say remove Action F/X completely, and replace it with a dark ride like Haunted Mansion at Disneyland.
  21. Sadly, there is no N Scale Monorail that I am aware of. I have a complete catolog from Walthers for N&Z as I am currently building an N scale layout. The only amusement rides for N scale is a Ferris Wheel, Merry-go-round, and flying carousel from Faller. My only idea would be building from scratch which would require alot more time. (It may not help, but here is a topic about a N scale Monorail. http://forum.zealot.com/t153974/ )
  22. Nope, they were brought from Pavilion after the owners decided to tear it down, and try to make everyone happy by building a smaller park with less rides than a county fair.
  23. If they had done that I would still be screaming at park management. However, Six Flags Over Georgia had that idea with theirs except they were going to model an engine after Thomas The Tank Engine. Thankfully, the decided to add a smaller kiddy one.
  24. Yes and no. Carowinds had two railroads when the park opened in 1973. The Carowinds & Carolina Railroad, a Crown Metal Products 36" Gauge railroad in which the engine at Neverland, and another engine(#1- Melodia) ran. In addition, Carowinds still operates a 24" gauge Crown Metal train under the name "Dora the Explorer's Azul Adventure". Carowinds & Carolina was removed in after the 1976 season, possibly for the addition of White Lightnin'.
