  1. Saturator is a low capacity ride that costs a bunch of money to keep up plus no one down here wants it around. A Boomerang is better than nothing at all, and it is cheap. It isn't like the general public will know that it isn't new.
  2. Actually, it has been confirmed that Head Spin is moving from Geauga Lake to Carowinds in 2009. Most people aren't happy about it, but I am.
  3. Exactly my point, but it was Kidworks Playzone. I say give SpongeBob and his friends the pink slip!
  4. I agree with Interp on Snoopy and Hanna-Barbara. My guess is that Nick U, and Nick Centrals will get a name like "Kiddy Kingdom", or drop the theme areas period. De-nicking the area would most likely only cost the price of stripping the characters off the theming. Who says they have to paint the rides and theming. OddCoaster doesn't have a face on the green train. Let alone put in new faces.
  5. Does it go fast enough that you get airtime at the top? Cause if it doesn't I know where one that does is...Tweetsie Railroad Blowing Rock, NC. Scariest Ferris Wheel I have ever been on, I can't believe they operate it that fast.
  6. Ok, FREE coaster plus costs of dismantling, relocating, and reconstructing and they didn't take it. I pay 50-60 dollars a year for a club that wants to save coasters, but doesn't even bother to try and raise money to save after they are offered it for free. There are 8,000 plus members of ACE. IF each member donates 20 dollars on average towards the Big Dipper than that would 160,000 dollars. Now, I know why the National Roller Coaster Muesum has still yet to be built. I would have glady donated 100 dollars from my other hobbies to moving the Big Dipper.
  7. My theory for line jumpers is, let them get away with it. It only makes them look bad, nor it is worth arguing/starting a fight over. Paramount Parks had the policy for do nothing at Carowinds also. As far as smokers, money talks, and smokers pay admission just like others do. While I do agree that something should be done, it is an outdoor park, which makes it harder to enforce. If I had it my way, smoking, gum, cell phones, and beer would be banned completely from all parks, but then where would the money come from.
  8. Assuming it is a 10 year license, it could it 2010-2014 depending on if the license is for "Paramount Parks Inc."(by company) or "Canada's Wonderland"(by park). EDIT: If you look at the Carowinds version of Haunted Mansion, you will notice that alot of the props other than Scooby-Doo, and Mystery Inc. are props used in other dark rides without Scooby-Doo!, maybe this was done intentionally because of the license expiration.... 9. If Scooby is still around in 2013, why not remake some of the Phantom Theater figures and theming, keep Scooby and the "Fright Lights", and add some new ideas. Pretty much combine the current, the past, and the future. Tweak the facade a little, and call it something along the lines of "Scooby-Doo!, the Mystery of the Lost Theater". As Walt Disney and the imagineers would would say "Plus It". Why spend 1 million dollars on a whole new dark ride, and get a poor quality dark ride when you could spend 1 million on parts, and get a better quality ride?
  10. I just got one thing to say....They're back. Wonder if they will be hanging around.(note the . and not the ?)
  11. I thought it was OPEC that having a trade embargo with the USA that caused the 1970s oil crisis.
  12. I say that the government needs to put a 10 cents cap on how much the gas stations, and their american suppliers can mark-up their prices. Forget suspending the gas tax, the gas stations and suppliers will just increase their profits because they think we can't tell the difference.
  13. "How much does your wife weigh?" That is not a question you need to asking...
  14. No, I like trees and all but I have better uses for a forest. However, I don't like my parks without some trees for shade. Opie says put some rails on the trees!
  15. A tree, it causes no arguements or rumors.
  16. 14 days sounds like more than enough even with the fact that she met her husband while working at the park. The main point that changes my mind from understanding to siding with the park is "Dorothy said a Disney representative came to her husband's hospital room and told her to take all the time she needed. Two weeks later, she went back to work." " "Kept on crying too much," she said. So Dorothy took two more weeks," After she went back to work the first, I as a manager could consider the offer from the representative to be furfilled. I met my wife at Carowinds, and two weeks would be enough for me.
  17. Hey Dane, on KIC mainpage and forums, I am getting an message at the top of IE that says "This website wants to run the following add-on: 'Remote Data Services Data Control' from 'Microsoft Corporation'. Is this something you have been working on?

  19. Actually it cost the amount of the painted used. Figure it like this, would you rather them use the paint for touch-ups or painting a silly little building...Not to mention they have to pay the paint department to paint it. It may only take an hour to paint, but that is an hour that could be used somewhere else.
  20. But then wouldn't Sally Rides have to renew the license instead of KI so that KI, CW, KD, Carowinds, and the Six Flags park(not sure which ones) can all keep using the Scooby-Doo characters? ~Roller "One day KIC members are going to beat the crap out of me" Nut
  21. I imagine if they are NOT in a newspaper the park wouldn't want them out and about. If I currently or want to again work at KI, I would keep my mouth shut...there is a reason I haven't posted my stories from Carowinds good or bad. I will say that I seen things that I wish I hadn't and things I wish I had seen.
  22. Vortex at Carowinds or Great America? Of the stand-up, I have rode(list at end) Scorcher is my favorite. I believe it's layout would great in any form including inverted and floorless. Vortex at Carowinds is my least favorite. To be the third or fourth one built by B&M, you think that the ride would be smooth considering how small it is. Shockwave is my second, but it is a headache also. Mantis is unbearable, but I would rather wait for it than Vortex. -Vortex(Carowinds) -Mantis -Shockwave -Scorcher
  23. Paramount Parks dropped Wayne's World from Carowinds and Kings Dominion due Paramount Pictures was asking for an insane amount to renew it. Didn't Viacom say shortly before they spilt that "We have no intentions to diverse Paramount Parks." I imagine the Viacom spilt was mainly to keep their tails out of monopoly court. I don't know much about laws so I think I am getting over my head. ~Roller "I think I need to be quiet now" Nut
  24. Whos to say they won't just turn it into "Kiddy Kingdom", "KidsWorks" or "Jr Gemini{/s] Beast" area. I wouldn't be surprised if they did as it would solve the problem of having to renew any cartoons including Snoopy. Did Geauga Lake ever get Snoopy?
