Kings Island History, Both Old and New
Gordon Bombay replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Ya gotta remember. That's all before Paramount got their twisted hands on the park and attempted to impose their vision on the park. I'd much rather have a paramount park than an abondoned park that was run into the ground by Carl Linder and the failing KECO. -
Where the hell is the year book I paid for? I'm sick of never getting an answer from Kings Island. I dont give a darn whos the owner, I want the money owed to me.
-
I'm currently putting the video on my external hard drive, thanks to Bill and Don for helping me out!
-
Anybody wanna put it on the net? I have it on DVD that Don hooked me up with, but I only have a laptop with a dvd drive, I could really use it for editing if someone wouldnt mind ripping it. Anyone wanna be awesome?

Maybe the trains will actually look like RCCA said they would: http://www.rcca.com/RCCA/images/beastlarge39.htm

While I appreciate some things you say, I think its time you start giving some proof to back up what you claim because you have not proven yourself to be a reliable source yet and your trolling is getting ridiculous.
-
It would be very expensive and would take quite awhile for a manufacturer to fabricate newer, lighter trains for Son of Beast. Also, none of the manufacturer's wanted to make trains when the ride was originally built because they feared an accident, then an accident happens, this wouldn't make any of them feel better about putting their product on the ride. If you remember, over time the SOB trains were modified, more padding was added, and metal blocks placed under your feet to keep your knees up higher and to keep the rider in a more snug position, these could be removed. Most likely the park will just re-modify the current trains in quite a radical way.

That and no way answers what I asked you and what would you know about CD's "standards"? Granted your a seasonal Cedar Fair employee, but you do not have any inside knowledge of how their corporate decisions are made nor how their full time upper management decisions are made. Cedar Fair has differnet standards set for different parks. Having myself been to a plethora of them, you can notice the difference in "standards". I respect your love for Geauga Lake and your place of employment, its a great park with great people, but it in no way is up to the customer service and quality levels Cedar Point is at. I visted both within a week of eachother and the details are quite obvious.
-
And how can you say it is most likely they are getting new trains? What proof do you have? Being a ride op a Geauga Lake does not mean you know what is going to happen to a coaster at a park you do not work at. Also, who would build such new trains? Keep in mind, they would have to be custom made for the track guage SOB uses.
-
What are you saying is not likely? And Railrider, I understand what your saying, and pretty much agree with you about the whats considered a capital investment and whats not, but I just dont see anyone wanting to be associated with that ride after the awful reputation it has gained in the industry. Yes, some may enjoy it, but from a manufacturers stand point I wouldnt want my product associated with it.

X flight is the best coaster I've ever been on.
-
Woah, where do you know for a fact that the SOB work is not included in the 10 million dollar figure and where has it been said that there are new trains coming? In all the press releases and the info on KI it is said that there will be lighter trains, not exactly new trains. You can make the current trains lighter. Remember, over time many things were added to these trains, it would be far cheaper to just lighten them and re-modify them rather than put in an order for a production facility to fabricate new trains. Also, no one wanted to manufacture trains in the first place for the ride because they feared an accident, now that an accident has happened, whos gonna step up? They're most likely just going to lighten the current trains.

You can go one exit down 71 or up the street and stay at most of the hotels cheaper than you could at the campground. The campground wasnt as economical as most of you like to believe.
-
Who said this was the official new logo yet?
-
Good luck Joe! This is an ambitious and very cool project. I built a wooden model coaster for my draw and design class this year as part of one of my senior projects. Best of luck to you! cant wait to see some updates.

Maybe to the parks area managers but as far as regular associates in rides and their supervisors, no. Paramount parks paid a considerable more amount to their employees then Cedar Fair did last year. Cedar Fair also has all kinds of screwy contracts. -
