Thanks for the video link CoasterKrazy! That prototype model of the suspended inversion coaster looked like it was going pretty fast, its too bad no one that Ive read about is researching something like that today, Id kill for a long suspended coaster with inversions, anyone know how they made that tiny model? maybe a little work on RCT3 will let me come up with something cool... Check this out...

That would be great if you could, are they in the itnernet does anyone know?

What was sitting at CP? Demon?

I think just in the back yard of Arrow Dynamics, Im sure they had a lot of space as at the time they were the leading designer of steel coasters. Kind of like how when S&S introduced the thrust air coaster, they built the prototype Thrust Air 2000 in their back yard. Do you know of any pictures or can you tell me what the video of the prototype is called. Id love to see it. The suspended coaster is great and really simulates the feel of a fighter plane better than an inverted coaster from what ive heard, but man, if Top Gun was longer and had say a corcskrew and some theming........we can only imagine. However, if say they did find some way to do it it would probably get re-themed to something like Sky Captain...pssh.

FOF/z, why do they only run 2 trains now? Were 3 trains purchased when they switched to the lap bar trains? I noticed today while working that only trains 2 and 3 were running. Ive also heard rumors that when FOF opened it had 4 trains. Can you answer any of these questions?
-
Hahahah I hate that about the internet, you cant express emotion, no hard feelings, neither one of us was trying to be harsh. FOF/x when you worked at PKI did you ever get sent to Beast and have to catch trains lol?
-
Chill out, when I said you were wrong, I didnt mean it in a rude way, I meant that you were incorect, I thought you said Beastie and Racer were the only ones that took their trains off. My mistake.
-
I used to hate FOF when I first rode it with the OTSR's, the lap bars are not only more comfortable but make the ride even more exciting with the free fall effect as FOF/Z said. FOF is a fantastic ride, the only problem is theres no signs or videos or voice recordings instructing people how to use the seatbelts. Also, does anyone remember if there was more room with the OTSR's? Today I worked FOF and many people who were to big or too tall to ride said it was much easier to fit when they had OTSR's.

If the person secures the camera in a bag usually we let them keep it, however if its someone taking on-ride video we ask them if theyd like us to hold it safely for them while they ride. If the camera is big enough we willt ell them to give it to us because it is a safety concern. Theres tons of legal on-ride videos out there on the internet, so please dont even bother trying to take pictures or videos while on the ride, unless you want to meet a probably not-so happy ride operator who just had to climb up a lift hill in the 90 degree heat with the sun over him/her because you broke a rule.

Actually, both things you guys said are wrong. While in the past thats what they've done, this is what they do now: At Beast we take all our trains off at night and place them on the transfer track. Racer and recaR leave both trains on the track, one in the station one in the ready breaks. Beastie takes one train off at night. The steel coasters leave their trains on at night unless one is out of service.

Exactly, the main focus is the kids! Yeah, a lot of people love the old HB charecters but kids these days arent watching it. Kids would rather see Spongebob make a Krabby Patty then see Yogi Bear steal a picnic basket.
-
Trust me, while everyone whines and complains that paramount is getting rid of HB, kids dont watch it like they watch Nick. All the kids I talk to when Im sent to work the HB carousel say. "Thats Scooby, but whos the rest of those guys?' And when I ask them to name the charecters they only know Scooby. Nickelodeon is more popular than old school HB right now, and Nickelodeon will bring in more famlies.

They need to get decent projectors in there, you cant see anything on the screens. Probably because its not dark enough.

The Beast, and Kentons Cove Keelboat Canal, a log flume that was removed in 2002 for the construction of Tomb Raider The Ride. Its a shame The Bat failed, I've heard that no current suspended coasters can compare to what teh Bat was. My dad rode the first two suspended coasters, The Bat and XLR-8 at Astroworld in Texas and hes said XLR-8 is crap.

Do you ever search before you create topics screamingnight? THis has been discussed a million times. Thank you

It sure would be nice though if PKI could add on to it and add inversions. It would be the only inverted suspended swinging coaster. I love Top Gun for its swinging features, but if you could add some inversons, make it longer, and give it theming it would be so much like a fighter plane.
-
THe ride stops itself at brakes right before the inversion or the nearest brakes like every coaster does when a sensor fails.
-
^Where was the prototype made? Is it possible to put some kind of computer system on the car and when it hits a sensor before the inverson, it some how locks up and prevents the car from swinging?
-
I was at the park as a guest with my friend yesterday and while we were sitting by Festhaus enjoying some smurfberry ice cream, we heard the phantom theatre music playing through a speaker behind us.
-
It would probably remain the same, maybe go up a little because it would be all renovated and have a good reputation. I think the Nick Central expansion, if it happens, will bring in a lot of people.
-
Yeah, its supposed to look like an aircraft carrier, you know cause all aircraft carriers have track built over them that carry the planes!
-
Lamest poll ever, this has been discussed a million times. Paramount wants to put in themed rides. I cant wait till we break the record for height and speed next year with the rocket power strate coaster taking the water mazes place. *Note sarcasm

Theres still a rideable Arrow shuttle coaster like Demon at Fun Spot in Angola Indiana. About 5 hours from here.
-
My dad always claims that those used to be FOF ques. I remember it was aprivate company and oyu had your choice of a few flights. You could fly to Dayton, Cincinnati, and I think one other place. I believe you could also get on in like Cincinnati and fly to PKI.
