  1. I loved how the Kings Mills flume looked better than the Thornberries but really their the same ride experience minus the makeover. You still get the same effect ride wise. But theming wise, it is definently a hollywood makeover.
  2. Look at how it looks NOW compared to how it USED to look. That is definently a Hollywood makeover, even if the show does suck and doesnt have any new episodes and is only shown at 6 in the morning.
  3. In the iwnterfest vid Maureen and Jeff build it up like its going to be the perfect story book event ever! I just hope it lives up to all the hype they promise. With all due respect to those two great people and the park, things at Kings Island tend to get hyped up a little bit and made out to be what they really arent. I remember the first year of fearfest was terrible but now its great. Lets just hope things go great and Winterfest is a hit!
  4. It doesnt look very safe. It looks like its homemade and that pool that you dump into looks really crappy and unsafe. I read an article last night that the Comfort Inn in Sandusky by Cedar Point was building a new indoor waterpark that would have a "looping" waterslide. But it didnt give any more specific details or artist renderign pictures so I wonder if when they say "looping" they mean it takes a turn and loops around something.
  5. ^What are you talking about? I always slaughter monkey statues before putting out my milk and cookies.
  6. No, the question is, why do you think it got its systems changed? Kong Fu Man, you have spread enough crap and false rumors on these forums again. No one believes a word you say. Remember this "TRTR is gone"? Your an idiot, I think its time someone banned you again. Grow up and get educated before you try to pretend you know what your talking about.
  7. ^Very True, theyd have to be retrofitted.
  8. I motion to ban Kong Fu Guy/man from the forums again for spreading rumors and wasting space on the forums with his crap! Does anyone second that?
  9. The Antique cars were a drain on money and removing them saved the park some. In the long run it probably costs less to run IJ every day than it does the tiques everyday.
  10. ^That is the dumbest thing ive ever heard, you sleep with your pet snake? Like in the same bed?
  11. I dont mean this offensively in any way but why do people like snakes for pets? Theyre not affectionate like dogs or cats they just sit in a tank and slither around. Why did you decide to get a pet snake?
  12. Youre right, you and all the other little kids dont know what your talking about.
  13. I dont think it makes much difference one way or the other, same ride, different theme. The thornberrys theme doesnt add much too it, just a giant floating plastic van. I do miss the big wheel though.
  14. I've never seen snakes at PKI but always worrie I may see one while I'm working.
  15. But do you think that the majority of the guests you say love the attraction would complain about it if they replaced it with a new ride(coaster) giga perhaps with a War of the worlds theme? Yes they would complain, little kids who love spongebob dont want to ride a massive coaster themed to an R-rated terrifying alien movie. PKI doesnt need a giga coaster at all.
  16. When I was younger, I was lead to believe that WWC was heavily infested with venomous snakes. So was I, and I am extremely afraid of snakes. My family would wait in that line for an hour and I couldnt stand still. One time while I was working some guest handed me one of those toy wooden snakes you can win at the games and said "can you put this over there for me" when he handed it to me i thought it was real and dropped it. Snakes...........eww.
  17. ^Dumbest idea ever, read the numerous war of the worlds theme and giga coaster topics first.
  18. THe cars were neat for kids and families, but face it. THey were a drain on money and we all know PKI is about penny pinching. A lot of you need to grow up and realize that keeping all the old stuff isnt what works all the time in this industry. If Nickelodeon showed all the show from my days all the time, only my generation would watch it and the nwer kids might not care for it. PKI has to keep entertaining new audiences. What most kids are into today, is not what we were into. What adults did in the 80's is not what adults are doing today. Its like everyone is cryign because HB is getting removed. Yeah its sad, I have memories from there too. But, HB isnt as popular anymore. If it wasnt for Scooby Doo a lot less kids would know about it. Nickelodeon is far more popular than HB. Ever wonder why theres a Nickelodeon parade and not an HB parade? And dont say kids still are into HB. Sure, most of the members on this site who have kids turneed them onto HB but most kids have no idea who Jabber Jaw and Magilla Gorilla are. When I worke the HB carousel I always see parents saying "Do you wanna ride on Jabber Jaw or in Fred's car?" the kid always replies "who are they? I want scooby". Yeah its sad to see some of that stuff go, but PKI has to entertain new audiences.
  19. ^What if train wasnt there? A different method of transportation would be provided by the park. ^What If Beast wasnt there what wooden coaster would you ride? The Racer, its still a classic ^What if SOB wasnt there, what wooden coaster would you ride with a loop? None, because its the only one so peopel would jsut flock to the other coasters, SOB is by no way a crowd favorite. ^What if Vortex wasnt there? I'd go ride one of the parks other 3 coasters that feature inversions or be turned upside down just as much on Tomb Raider (which by the way Kong Fu guy/man, TRTR is still there it never left) You claim these rides keep KI alive. Sure, they have their claim to fame but millions of people arent coming from all over the world to get in line for The Vortex. What keeps KI alive is its variety. So while we may not focus on 127mph coasters with 400 foot drops all the time, we provide something for everyone. Dont get me wrong, I love CP and all its thrills. But face it, CP is more for thrill riders (not that thats bad) where as KI provides something for everyone. I think most people come to KI for the kids rides. After all that is the target audience of PKI, families. Families bring in the most business to PKI. Thats why we got a "family" coaster.
  20. No one knows for sure what the tiques will be used for. I think were all jumping into pretty big conclusions saying they will be re-located somewhere. No one knows how many tiques are still around and if they still work. THe tiques ran on gasoline which is pretty expensive these days and to run a bunch of cars continuously on gasoline all day, every day throughout the season is jsut a drain on park expenses so we're probably not gonna see the tiques again. If we see the cars again it will probably be theming in some new attraction or possibly the cars of a new attraction but nothing like they used to be. I remember reading abotu the toonpike concept, just my opinion.
  21. Just because Skylab had problems doesnt mean Kings Island should blow off Huss completely. First off, you dont know what your talking about. Skylabs down time couldve been any number of things that werent related to Huss. It couldve been down all the time because of how KI maintenance kept it up, the weather, the condition it was kept in. No one knows. Thats only one Huss ride. Shake Rattle and Roll is a Huss ride and is always running. Tomb Raider is a Huss ride. To say KI should not trust HUSS because of one ride that didnt work quite well for reasons probably no one on this board knows is qite ignorant.
  22. The picture with the moon is up there.
  23. Looks like Kong Fu Guys back but hes gone through puberty!
