  1. When I rode it it was actually kinda fun! It wasn't to rough and it had at least some speed, the trims on it though are a bit much. If Mean Streak wasn't trimed so heavily you would have an extremely painful ride. It would make Texas giant look like a B&M. I hope that the rumors are true about Meannie and it gets some TLC this offseasson. Could really be a great ride, the structure is just beautiful to look at and theres a lot of potential.
  2. Well we dont want The Beast to destroy itself or the public. I for one want it around another 30 years. Trims are a necessary evil...
  3. Avatar I will keep that in mind, and yes Zoe is a princess, but will want to be one in a few short years and I can almost gurantee we will visit during the fall. Honestly the best time to vacation if possible. Standbyme, I knew it was bad but not that bad till I saw it up close. On top of that it was a great joy to unload the entire back of Edge of our luggage so I could get the spare out. But hey it went on no problem and got us safely to the dealership. I still think our HRP admission money was better spent on a new tire. More pictures are coming.
  4. The base might not be 100% accurate though and the picture is at an angle. Notice post #621 with the picture of the support where the track attaches, that is at a 45 degree angle, no matter what the angle of the base or the picture is... Unless the track attaches at a different angle, which I dont see happening, Diamondback will have the same lift hill angle as Millennium Force. That is steep
  5. You were sitting on a wheel...
  6. ^ Do you think a comment like that even deserves a reply? Are you Serious
  7. Heres the same pic again just with the triangle drawn in. Geometry is a beautiful thing.
  8. ^ Funny I remmeber a ytmnd page for Nick or Treat. Sounded rather racist to me... Still Funny
  9. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I think the lift will be 45 degrees. Look at the 2 pictures below. The circled area in the first is showing where the track will attach to the support. If you look it has a very steep angle and some basic geometry tells us that a triangle with a 90 degree angle and 2 equal angles is a right isosceles triangle. Meaning that the other 2 angles are 45 degrees. So in the second picture I connected the 2 supports following the angle and it lines up pretty well. Im going 45 degrees on the lift folks.
  10. Just as has been rumored numerous times, dont excpect Nick back. I think this is another sign of the near future.
  11. Ive never been a screamer on rides, but I am always up for a good chant during a brake run. For example one of the classics. Before they removed the OTSR on FoF a coupld of buddies and I would always chant during the brake run. "Nuts and Bolts, Nuts and Bolts... We Got Screwed" That was a chant we always used on a rough ride. Thankfully I no longer can say that about FoF...
  12. Like I said last page and was confirmed they are cutting the concrete. They are probably cutting expansion joints in the concrete, so it is less likely to crack or atleast they can control where the cracks form.
  13. I just find it interesting that the park seems to have known they had the wrong cables on the ride for 4 years prior to the accident. Yet even though SFKK knew they had the wrong cables they continued to opperate the ride for 4 years. Sounds like neglegence on SFKK part to me. I believe thats the correct legal term. Its like using the spare tire your car comes with, slapping it on and driving over 55mph and putting 5,000 miles on the spare, yet you sue the manufacturer when it blows, flips your car and kills 10 people on the highway. Hey you knew it was right, but just ignore it and continue on because your too cheap to buy a new tire.
  14. ^ They could be any number of things. Most likely from where they sit they go to the transfer track building. Could be used for catwalks, electrical componets, like breakers pannels and conduit. They could be any number of things, but eventually they will be put up. Just wait.
  15. Funny you put it that way, I kind of think that parking in their lot for a year is almost as fun as visiting the park for a year. I just find Great America rather horrid.
  16. Found this on Screamscape and I checked it out on SixFlags Great Americas Website. The 09 seasson pass is $69.00 and the parking pass is $65.00. Seriously that is the crazziest seasson pass offer I have ever seen. I know that the total price with parking and seasson pass is around the cost of a Platinum Pass, but I just think the way they are advertising will decrease the sale of parking passes. I think buyers will look at it like they would a TV priced $499 or $500, majority of the time they will buy the one for $499. Just find it interesting pricing strategy. SixFlags
  17. I agree about the Disney pricing, I guess I should have been more specific. I vist Disney for no more than 2 days, I am a fan of Universal and my Daughter isn't old enough to care yet. So with my situation Disney is premium pricing, we dont go enough days to take advantage of the discounts. MB on the other hand during peak summer seasson is full of families and especially famlies with teenagers. Very blue colar crowd during the summer, mix in retires and honeymooners, but the main demo is famlies of 4. You dont see the older crowd become the dominating demographic until the offseasson. Basically these are the snowbirds that fly south for the winter. Myrtle Beach theoretically is a great area for a theme park, but the failure of HRP is many fold.
  18. Yeah I see it moving, they might be cutting expansion joints in the concrete
  19. Well thats a good strategy for not spending much time in the industry. I honestly don't think you can practice pricing integrity till you build a reputation in the industry, which HRP obviously hasn't. Disney is probably the only park I can think of that does anything near pricing integrity, but you can still find discounts, but they are harder to find than Swiss war medals.
  20. Couple thoughts, could just be a worn spot in the ground from the trucks and heavy equipment or it could be some work being done on the concrete, possibly sawing. Concrete dust will kick up a nice could of dirt. But I think its just a worn area around the splashdown, because it doesnt look like it is covering anything else, so the "cloud" isnt rising.
  21. ^ Very True, and as mentioned earlier how much themeing is there for the big metal box in Rivertown?
  22. Well HRP is doing plenty of advertising in the area, billboards, taxis, tv commercials. Problem is, no discounted tickets. Especially through your resort coniceirge or even at the various shows. For example if I take a timeshare tour for 2 hours of my life I either get free show tickets for 2 or discounted tickets. Yes I know not everyone is willing to do that. So heres something else most of the big shows in MB do. For example if I buy tickets to the Carolina Opry I then get half price tickets to either the Dixee Stampeede or Good Vibrations. If I buy tickets to the Alabam theater I can then purchase discounted tickets to Aligator Adventure or another one of their shows. HRP has no incentives like this. I cannot count how many times I will buy tickets to the 2nd attraction because of the disount, normally no intentions to, but I do it because its a good deal and something new. I still dont understand No Starlight Admission??? Makes no sense.
  23. WereWolf Canyon was great and I think Cornstalkers will be an excelent replacement to it. I still wish KI would do something in WWC. Just a great set up for a haunt.
