RailRider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
With some of the more technical track work laid, we may see this really take off now. Im going to be in the basement starting Friday and I cant wait to see what this thing looks like after a week. -

Major Vertical Construction will be done before Thanksgiving. Thats the timetable they are working on. So January theres not going to be much more than remaining site work and snow. -
It's not going to be up high...the station track is eye level from the press release area. Really have you seen the height of the final brake run and the transfer track? Pretty sure we will be walking up some stairs to get on and off Diamondback...

Wow Im actually a big fan of Chaos at CP. Love that ride. Now on to worst ride Ive ever been on. On the grounds of roughness, Im leaning towards Texas Giant, makes SoB look tame. Mean Streak is an extremely rough forceless coaster, I hate that thing. Such a pretty structure but nothing else going on. Villian at GL was pretty bad, no wonder it didnt sell. Most folks despised Drachen Fire at BGW, but I was a fan. Probably the most unique Arrom Multilooper out there, but the transistions made other Arrows feel smooth as glass.

I just vote for lots of cool nights in October so the Fog is thick and low to the ground.

How long would you wait to ride your favorite roller coaster?
RailRider replied to coaster lover's topic in KI Polls
Dont get me wrong Firehawk is a good coaster, but 7 hours. Ive gotta ask afterwards, did you feel it was worth it? Just curious. -
Drachen Fire had one of the most unique Arrow layouts. Elements that were not on other rides like the diving corkscrew down the first drop, but yes the ride was extremely rough. Thats why I still say anyone that complains about SoB never road Drachen Fire. Even with its roughness I greatly enjoyed the coaster. Ridership was extremely low, but on a rainy overcast day before its demise I completed 11 circuits without getting out of my seat in the front car. Now that was a beating, but someone had to show the coaster some love because next year it was SBNO...

RailRider replied to IBEW_Sparky's topic in Kings Island
So when did they bank the turns? Hmm thought they were from day one -
What a difference 3 years-and new ownership-makes
RailRider replied to HandsUp's topic in Trip Reports
How about under PKI. Lack of entertainment in park, Racer Running Backwards, lack of landscaping, poor ride upkeep, lack of dinning choices, hands off management, unenthusiastic employees, park cleanliness, few special events... Need I go on? -

Great Trip Report. You know I have noticed the vast improvements under CF every year, but I can only imagine what a difference you would see with a 3 year abscence. Very cool -
Holiday to add something big....

4 woodies that close together especially another this soon after Voyage? -
Well for one the B&M sit down train is to wide, the track gauge is all wrong and new trains arent going to make the transitions any better. Thats an Arrow trademark, bad transitions.

Well with what HW is spending next year in capital I highly doubt its new. Im thinking used just from the cost standpoint. They dont have a history of buying used, but neither did Silverwood till Aftershock. -

Anyone remember the lines for Torture Tower the first year for Fear Fest in 2000? Those were insane, but well worth the wait.

4.5 hours for Raptor on its opening week, still one of the best rides ever, especially then because it was so unique.
-
Nice pics. I for one will take your Typical Cedar Fair coaster any day of the week. They have installed some of the best coasters around at their parks, so you will get no complaint from me.

Wow, sounds great. But then you would be so far away from KI

KI Adds Operating Days in Sept and BRING A FRIEND DISCOUNTS
RailRider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I have made it a habit to stay away from the park on discount days like bring a friend free or this one. The park is always insanely packed. -
Disney wants Sea World!
RailRider replied to Avatar's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
So if Disney purchases all the parks, will Mickey be set loose on the Serengati Plain in Tampa? Now that would be funny. Can only hope this works out, because Im already having an issue loosing another American Brewer and now loosing some great parks to overseas. Just not good. -
You know I thought the same thing about a "Bob Ross" painting and all the happy little trees. Love the pics, now I must ask is this a business or pleassure trip? I travel quite a bit and have not heard of much tourism in Slovakia.

Well their capital expenditure is less than 10milion next year, which tells me if its steel, its used. Of the list of used coaster for sale or formerly for sale only a few make sense.
