Did Gas Savings Come Too Late?
RailRider replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yeah a drop of 20 cents or so, Im so excited I think I will drive to California because gas is so cheap now. Seriously, it needs to drop back to the $2 range before I start tap dancing. -
Geauga Lakes El Dorado spotted at KD

Now this is how you move a whale... Seems easy enough... Seriously I greatly enjoyed GL the first year it was SFWoA, unfortunately after that year it was all downhill. -
Extremely jealous of everyone attending, wish my schedule would allow it. I will look forward to all the pictures of the event. Enjoy.

That is a great ride and I think a lot of people completely overlook it when at the park anymore. I love the ride and remember ridding that when I was very young. I was so scared during the fire part.
-
Guranteed you will love it.
-
DDF is an excelent flume ride. I just love Sidewinder because theres never a line, heck of a walk to the top, and its a very unique ride.
-
MM is a great ride overall and just another jem in the crown for DollyWood. Truly one of the best parks around. The park has some of the best staff around, extremely clean, very family friendly, great collection of rides, awesome coasters, great shopping and dinning and if you cant tell I absolutely love DollyWood. Not many parks around that provide the expeirence it does. Where else can you ride something like the Smokey Mountain Sidewinder?

I love Lewis Black and the Root of all Evil is hillarious. Hope that show stays around for awhile.

Thanks buddy, I enlarged my avatar. Better? Also you can still find that pic in my profile. Hey maybe if your going to HH we can meet up and have a Bombay...
-
Yeah me too, definately going to miss out, but I will be making a trip to HH on a Saturday so I can get a full day in. Just with the new house, the old house, the new job and vacation at the end of the month Ive got some things going on. That picture is from the Rose Garden actually. I will enlarge it, on my list of things to do. What was my last avatar? I forget?

“Bingo” or in other words “that’s as good as it gets” I noticed you changed your photo avatar are those from the China Olympics? I knew you had good taste. That stuff is definately an acquired taste and you dont enjoy it till your second, but I am a prould member of the club. No those are actually real fireworks. That would be the nightime show at Cinderellas Castle.

^ Geesh that reminds me of the Department of Homeland Securities color coded threat level. Are we at fuscia or something like that. Acutually currently at Elevated level Yellow

I had a feeling it was from a Florida park, you had that Ive been in the sun at a theme park all day look on your face. Biggest mistake I ever made drinking was enjoying a few frozen livations at the Frozen Desert in Jurasic Park at IOA. Immediately after a few fine drink I went back to back walkons on Duelling Dragons. Heat, Dehydration, Alchol, and Dueling Dragons = Worshiping the porcelin god. Nice drink choice, do you like the Bombay Sapharie?

KIBeast I understand it perfectly, I likee very much. But still no Charlize Theron. visit the web cam on the official site, thats as good as it gets.

Club Blood was very very bad. Had way too much sex stuff in it. Even the end of it was bad. Last years Haunt was bad. Had alot of complants to the park's managers and some of the workers went to far when it came to making jokes. I know that the KI Police was called in due to the parks guest's throwing stuff at the workers who was making fun of others. Surprised that the park wasnt sued over it. Crap, here we go again... No onr will sue KI over any of that crap. Don't like it? Don't attend. Not referring to you Uncle Henry, but Dalefan. It wasn't that bad as far as sex stuff in it. Heck, I really enjoyed it! So, did my wife (who was my fiance' at the time). And thats why you married her because shes easy going and can enjoy something like Club Blood, unlike some folks that have no sense of humor, fun or anything. They are wound up so tight and are offended at everything like a Walmart greeter saying merry Christmas, that they go thru life not enjoying it and wanting to bring everyone else down that enjoys life on a daily basis. I for one loved Club Blood, epsecially the costumes...
-
Love the bottom pic, but Ive got to ask, how many drinks did you have under your belt at that point? Somebody looks a little glassy eyed... Reminds me I need a drink...

^ I think for the hot picture you should have done the older sister Jessica and then the semi hot Ashlee
-
Yes in the drained WWC, add some fog and pine trees, put some folks in there dressed up as WereWolfs and you have a haunt.
-
I would still like to see something like WereWolf Canyon at HH. The channels work perfectly at keeping the fog in and with good actors it can be a very intesne haunt.
-
Love the National Run DB is getting. Also with the DB stadium seating the back row is higher and offset to the ouside of the front seats.

Geauga Lakes El Dorado spotted at KD
RailRider replied to Phantom Theater's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well now that we are digging this horse out of its grave let me get a few more kicks in. Yes its sad that GL is gone. Get over it. Heres a leasson in logic101. Park is strugling after massive coaster building spree. People aren't showing up and we just bought more land that we must incorporate in the park. More employees to run the park are needed, more rides to opperate, more bathrooms to clean(ok they left that off the list). Realization is park was way to big and the opp expesenses were insane for a park with that kind of attendance. Solution sell the park or downsize. Wait SF doesnt downsize they sell. CF tries their hand at it. The ship is unresponsive. So as its heading towards the massive iceberg of loss, the captain sounds the alrams and rides from the park are jetisoned as the ship goes down. Be thankfull you can visit other parks to rides most of GL signature rides and that you still have a nice water park to visit. Now would you like some pie??? Im still bitter over the demise of OpryLand and no I cant go ride Chaos anywhere becuase it sat in a parking lot and rusted away, thank you SixFlags. But do you see me always complaining and whining? No. Man up, grow up, and get over it. Now back on topic Im glad to see these rides are getting utilized at KD. Elderado is a great looking Magic Carpet. I am gready and wish that Americana would have come to KI. I just think KI needs a giant wheel in Coney Mall. -
I love both coasters, so let me make this real easy. The Beast is a Bi*@h of a ride... The Son of Beast makes you his Bi*@h during the ride...

It is interesting that he left out the Cincinnati and Sandusky markets. I wonder, could it be that the guests in those markets have found other parks that are less expensive to attend, and allow more fun to be had? Since both Kings Island and Cedar Point apply trim brakes to their coasters to the point that they almost valley during the ride, and have obscenely high food and drink prices, maybe people are finally taking notice. I'm certain that people sit around and say, "let's not go to Cedar Point and Kings Island because of trim breaks." <G> I think that is absolutely the only reason I've NEVER heard anyone use for going or not going to a park. You are probably right, people don't sit around and talk about trim brakes directly. Most probably don't even know what a trim brake is. The point is, people remember how much fun a coaster was. Trim brakes take away from that fun. Let us suppose that you have two identical coasters at park A and park B, but the one at park A is trimmed and park B is not. Guests will remember that they had more fun on the coaster at park B. Back to the Bradys at KI, it should be an interesting day. I look forward to it. First off, what ride at KI almost valleys because of trim brakes? Second, most people would not know nor care if two rides are exactly the same, only enthusiasts care to that extent. Most people don't even know that there is a difference in all of the Superman rides. http://www.rcdb.com/qs.htm?quicksearch=Superman So to make a public comparison is really impossible. As far as people at KI that have "Noclue", you might as well tell me because I do not know who you are talking about. I am sure they would like to know as well, so they can find another job since you say they do not have a clue. I know someon at KIC that has noclue, but he doesn't know it yet. From what I understand he seems to have a massive issues with trim brakes and the fact they are taking over the world as we speak. Seriously there are not many coasters out there that dont have either trim brakes or a mid course brake. So if you instantly eliminate all coasters as sucking because they either have a trim or MCB then you have been on what 2 maybe 3 coasters at the max that didn't suck? So what park doesn't use trim brakes? I haven't been to one yet and I bet Ive been to a lot more than you, Beast Rider errr NoClue

I was wondering the same thing? I wonder how KI goes around recouping the lost revenue of not having Toyota family day or is this just a single plant that wont be attending the event. If the entire thing is off Im sure it could have a pretty big impact on KI if they dont have the staffing scheduled to open to park to the GP now. Interesting.
