Press Release: Inaugural Members of the Kings Island Walk of Fame
RailRider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Why not do it. What better event to have than the all employee reunion and the first induction in to the walk of fame. I think it creates excitement in the park and with employees, plus it is something they go do with every employee reunion. I think its a great idea. -
Great TR, Im looking forward to when my mini me is more of the age to ride.

RailRider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Neat idea. Question... Where will this walk of fame be located? Im thinking the entry plaza or what use to be the Paramount Story Area. -

You know thats like telling me to not look down. Well I looked down and yeah you were right. You know they say most serial killers start by either killing or torturing animals when they are younger. -
Like mentioned earlier there are some leaky faucets around.

Is anybody a bit nervous about riding Diamondback
RailRider replied to ZukoGirl's topic in Kings Island
Only coaster I was ever nervous to ride was Magnum XL 200 when it first opened. I had never seen anything that big. We came in thru Challenge Park and I just remember walking by the lift hill and feeling so small, really made me uneassy. Glad I manned up and gave it a ride. What a ride it still is. -
I dont see any reasson the path wont return next year. Although I must wonder about how it not being open will effect the flow of HH and the scare zones.

Im thinking they are controlling the rumors on this topic, even the allusions to names.

Ive never understood people that know something and cant keep it to themselves. Then they have to make some big announcement about it. Just interesting. I know I have friends that if I told everything the told me I would end up in trouble...

Well it was around $8.5 million they are spending all together. Knock out $4.5 for Pilgrim Plunge and $1mil for the new Holiwatch system that leaves roughly $3 million remaining. They are doing some parking lot and trafic light improvements which I would imagine aren't cheap and Im sure there will be some minor park maintence, maybe a new restraunt and I would say they have spent their money.

Holiday to add something big....
RailRider replied to a topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
In the article in the Evansville CourierPress, it states the ride will cost $4.3 million. Thanks, was wondering how much. So that roughly leaves another $4 million for improvements and the new bracelet system. Sounds like they might be doing a lot of updating in the park with that much capital left over. -

Looking at the tower structure, it looks tall and skinny and only 2 legs. Im wondering if this might sway in the breeze a little, like Wicked Twister. I know its attached to the drop, but how much support will that offer? Just wondering. Will be very impossing on the Holiday World Skyline. Cant wait to ride though -

I dont see the exact cost listed of this ride, but I would figure the majority of the $8.5 million going to it. For what they have built in the past for less money this seems a little pricey. I just wonder if Holiday World is prepared to handle the possible maintence nightmare this thing could be seeing as its using some new technology from Intamin. -

So I just watched the videos on Holiday Worlds website. The lift looks to be the scariest part of this ride. Kind of crazy how it curves out so 2 boats can pass. Hmm wonder what is locking the boats in place during the lift? Should be interesting to see this thing on opening day. -
Love the TR, Ive got to know what is admission to a park like this? I must admit the coaster without restraints would be indimidating, also interesting that the brake opperator rides with you, very interesting.

I could imagine the I-Street resturant one day becoming a KI musuem of sorts. Something like the musuem at Cedar Point. Its not on a map and its tucked away in the back of the park. You just have to know about it.
