Must agree, KI needed a coaster that was reliable, inexspensive to maintain, a capcity monster, and would generate hype. I think that spells B&M Hyper. I dont know of a type of coaster that would have fit these needs better.

Hard Rock Park Sheds Jobs

Well MBSC is a family destination. I think its failure stems from horrible location, lack of advertising, people just dont know about it, and its a little pricey for what you get -
Hard Rock Park Sheds Jobs
RailRider replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Rumor I hear is that after the parks last concert and labor day weekend, they may shut down and not open up till next seasson. I have heard a lot of conflicting reports but I keep hearing this one over and over. Would not be a good sign if happens and the park may not reopen if it shuts down that early. -
Couldn't agree more. The park has done an excellent job in going back to its roots and bringing back some great memories the park has created. It has been a great year for the park. Now if we can only get the Partridge Buss to swing by and maybe a few from that family. Like I said in another topic, there will always be someone to pee on the parade. Thats life and some folks just get kicks being that way.

Not sure still what the layout was focused on, but thats another topic. KI the only park in the world with a Wood and Steel Hypercoaster. Thats pretty cool

How many times have I been banging the drum that the Brady's would show up this year? Just a hunch I had after a certain jump was made. Thats awesome that the Brady's will be in the park. Very cool, Barry Williams as well, is he still married to the playmate?

Nothing will kill your feet faster in the day than walking around with wet socks and shoes. Good way to end a day quickly

It doesnt matter how great the event or the new ride is. When ever you have people and they can have an opinion there will always be one to pee on the parade or they just like playing devils advocate. Thats life and anyones right. So there will always be a negative opinion about something, anything

Could they not find someone/thing better than Wikipedia or is that finally a reliable source? This is true, thats why they built the evac platform in the middle of the cobra roll. Evac Platform You know its a reoccuring issue when you spend the money to build a platform to retrive riders because the coaster stalls all the time.

I would look for most vertical construction to be done by the time Halloween Haunt rolls around and for it all to be complete at the end of October except for the parts that cross over the midway in Rivertown. I dont seem them finishing those until the park is closed for good, because more than likely the midway will get torn up from the heavy machinery erecting the steel. So they will have to replace and reorganize that midway somewhat for 09

Heres the Sheikra splash down. Any questions on how it works or how cool it will look now?

This is exactly how the DB splashdown will work and more than likely look

The train goes thru the former swan lake site. There is a channel for the train to run that keeps the track out of water but there are specil scoops on the bottom of the train that will catch water and shoot it out like a giant rooster tail. So no the train wheels and track are not submerged just the scoops on the bottom of the coaster train are submerged.

I have a feeling this monster will go up fast. Perfect weather to build.

Thank you, Ill be here all week. You must admit it would be surprising though.

Well a patch of dirt is better than a parking lot

The supports on the hill are to make it stick out in the park. The yellow and red will pop off the blue background. Primary colors after all. The grey supports as mentioned before will help blend the ride in with the surroundings. Ever notice that a lot of communication towers and water towers are painted a grey or greyish blue? Thats so they blend in with the sky and surroundings. I would guess same idea here. You will be drawn to the track and not the supports. Should be a very cool look. Kings Island next year will have 2 Hyper coasters in the park. SoB and DB. Also the only park in the world that has a Steel and Wooden Hyper Coaster.

Yeah, that disappointed me as well. It would have looked really nice to have a well-landscaped pathway circling the splash pool. If there is a pathway circling the splash pool there would then be fence around said pool to keep stupid park guests away from the track. So that would make it look less attractive. The B&M splashdown generate a nice huge roostertail of water. There will be a lot of mist and I imagine that will find its way to the midway. Look at Griffon you are really far away from the splashdown, but still the mist coming from it easily gets guest standing at the observation point.

Maybe statistics like Height, Length, various hill sizes, angle of first drop, the train design with the snake head, and renderings of the official layout, oh yeah and the name. Prior to this we had only bits and pieces to go off of and a 2 day rendering that showed a length of 4200' feet. So I would say we got a lot of great information today that until recently we had only speculated on. darn there I go again taking the bait. I think that I'm just being a realist. Great addition and ride? Certainly! Will I be excited to ride? Why Of Course! Suprising information? Not Really! No surprising information would be that Samuel L Jackson will be the first rider on media day. And on the ride gets hit in the face with a goose and once he returns to the station exclamis, "Ive had it up the here with these mother fu#*#n geese in this mother fu#*#n park." Now that would be surprising... There I go again taking the bait, Ive been told I do that a lot, but I cant help myself.
