Disney Raises Ticket Prices...
RailRider replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I for one am much different than the guest you describe. I buy the Universal hopper and stay at Universal and if time and money permit I will visit a single Disney Park. -
Disney World increased ticket prices effective Sunday to $75 a ticket. Children tickets were raised as well to $63 a ticket. I realize that this is a raise of roughly 5% in price, but how high is to high? Disney is pricing their single day tickets to the point to where guests will either purchase the multi day park hopper or not visit at all. Especially in these economic times I cannot see this as a good business move. Vacationers are already considering staying closer to home because of gas prices and now with an increase in ticket prices, one more reasson to visit your local park instead of going to Florida. My humble opinion I would rather stay at the Royal Pacific at Universal for a week, live at USF and IOA, party at City Walk, and visit the Busch Parks before I spend a dime at Disney. But thats just me. Disney Raises Prices

You know Im pretty sure Stampeding horses or cattle would make the ground tremor. I think Behemoth would be a great name for a bull. Seeing Red Now

I would say the "Biggest Announcement in the parks 36 year history" part is just marketing. I cant believe its going to be ground breaking like some other rides that share a name. But I would say its going to be the tallest announcement in park history...

1) The one that named a coaster after his father? 2) I don't think that anyone is wondering why SF is struggling. ..... When is CF's 2nd Quarter Conference Call? Yeah the one that will be poorly maintained and within 5-7 years will become unrideable because of roughness. That is if Six is still around. Yes always hint at the struggles of CF, they have their issues as do the majority of companies right now, but the biggest meassure is stock price. CF's sits at values that it saw back in 2000 where Six as at all time lows and on the verge of being pulled from NYSE. Yes RailRider took the bait, but sometimes I cannot resist...

Very Well Put... Speaking of Coney Mall, I would love to see a Ferris Wheel put in. A Giant wheel that would sit near the old lazer tag building. Besides the Carosel they have great charm and their light packages can really illuminate the night

Screamin Delta Demon, now that was a great ride, but thanks to Six and Gaylord entertainment now defunct... Along with all of Oprylands beauty and charm... RailRider still holds a grudge for the dumbest and biggest mistake ever made by a company in the amusement industry.

I just find it funny the difference between how SF and KI handled their respective jumps. Seems like at SF it was just kinda there at the park and wasnt being pushed as a big event. Especially from the reporters perspective. At KI the event was huge and was part of an even bigger weekend. I bet Robbie has an opinion on what park helped put on a better show. Then again people wonder why Six is going under, maybe its the lack of planning, ignoring the details and overall disregard for their guests experience. Seriously no bleachers, just stand behind some chain link, thats epic.

Why not bring back a classic but defunct name? Drachen Fire

Right now Rivertown is truly the spot in the park that has no idea what its identity is. You have TR:TR errr The Crypt, Wings and the the Wild Thornberry adventure. All either in Rivertown or on the outskirts. Rivertown needs an identity and either this new ride will clarify or just murky the water even more. Even though money is tight, Rivertown needs some attention so that everything fits the theme.

I am pretty sure its not Railraider but I still have to vote for that because its almost like having a coaster named after me On a serious note greatly looking forward to the announcement.

AWESOME Beverage Deal for Passholders at KI!
RailRider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
This is the reasson that I buy my refilable souvenir cup at the begining of the year and have it filled with water every time there after. Cheapiest way to go, because water is free and its better for you on a hot summer day than soda. -
A lot of sarcasm when the topic starter had a simple question, huh? Besides, wasn't there an accident on a funnel-waterslide at a Six Flags park a few years ago where a few riders got injured? Yes SFKK and happend last year, the woman is now suing SFKK saying she broke her tailbone. I believe there is another thread on that around here somewhere.

going to ki tommorrow what ride should i ride
RailRider replied to joecartoon's topic in Kings Island
Dont miss SoB, often criticized, but still one of the best rides in the park. I would recomend in this order. Firehawk, FoF, Racer, AE, Delierium, SoB, Flight Deck, Invertigo, Drop Tower. If you can hit all of those before lunch time, grab a bite and then catch a show. But if you go in that order your not running all over the park. Then for the latter half of the day you can work the back of the park. -
I-Team Investigates KI Foreign Worker Program?
RailRider replied to XGatorHead 8904's topic in Kings Island
Trust me they wouldn't compain if the stayed at the Dorms at the Point... I will take a park bend and a newspaper any day over those. No seriously improvements have been greatly made to the dorms at the point, just another reasson their international program works so well. KI just doesn't have the logistics and it sounds like the company sponsoring the whole thing is a joke, but for every bad story Im sure there is a good one. But bad news sells news
