  1. Even if KY for some strange reasson were to approve this meassure and KY Kingdom reopens, I have no faith in the park being sustainable. There is a reasson it has failed twice and I think a 3rd time would be imenent. Plus this isn't a good economy for new parks or strugling parks. See those listed by Terpy earlier.
  2. ^ KI does a great job transforming the park in to an entire event, not a single haunt being the haunt. To have a signature haunt that would last 30-40 minutes would be quite expensive, when KI can offer numerous haunts for the same cost which drives more folks through the gates and the haunts. They do it well. I think a single attraction haunt is best left as a stand alone. Something along the lines of The Haunted Hoochie at Dead Acres, Erebus, or even USS Nightmare. Those events and houses wouldn't fit well in a park setting and the cost and effort behind them is monumental, not saying KI's isn't but it is different.
  3. I am thinking that Wolf Pack will be a possible repack of Werewolf Canyon. Seeing as how it isn't at CP anymore why not ship the costumes to KI and use them. They were great costumes too, especially the ones with the graber arms. I have high hopes for this one.
  4. I always like to think we complain because we care, if there were no complaints then apathy or indifference has set in and that is not a good thing. Still positive results for the most part for a tough economy and a hot summer.
  5. Yeah the midget wrestling seems like an interesting addition and I didn't think "midget" was the pc term anymore. Then again I don't think this show is going for that, nor is haunt. Sounds like some interesting new additions and another good year for haunt. For the 10th year of Fear I was hoping for return of one of the original haunts, mainly Torture Tower. Yes I know it was a capacity nightmare but it had the best atmosphere of any haunt ever at the park. Ohwell.
  6. The description for Wolf Pack sounds quite good. I wonder if this will be similar to Werewolf Canyon at CP, which has always been a favorite of mine. I also see it listed as an indoor haunt, but would make more sense as an outdoor haunt. Should be interesting to see this develop. Also noticed that IJ:TR, TG, and TR:TR errrr Backlot, Afterburn (Flight Deck or whatever generic name you want) and The Crypt are not mentioned in the rides section. Interesting.
  7. I am just glad that she is improving in health. At first I felt sorry for the ride opperator, but now after reading the articles I am questioning my first thought. How could you go back to work and the scene of the accident so soon after such a horrible accident? Just a question, because I think I would need a few days/weeks to get mentally better. Makes more sense now as to why the SCAD tower never really took off.
  8. The longer SOB stands with no action, the more I believe it will eventually disappear. The longer something sits without opperation or care the more in disrepair it falls.
  9. Ride Placement, Im guessing will be either where the old laer tag building stood or flight commander/euro bungee area. Placement in Coney Mall is awesome and much needed at the back end of Coney Mall. Plus this ride actually is a new spin on a throwback barnstormer style rides of days gone past. Reminds me a great deal of the Barnstormer at Opryland, which was a bit unnerving and a focal point of that area. Honestly a great addition to an area of the park that has been neglected for so long.
  10. I really like this new addition. Very happy with it and it will look awesome in the park, great views from the top as well. Everyone realize you will be looking down on Vortex, Beast and Diamondback? That is awesome. Great family friendly addition and some junior thrill seekers will love this ride. Kudos Cedar Fair. Anyone that is complaining because this isn't a roller coaster does not understand the industry or the sense this ride makes and how un Cedar Fair it is.
  11. I must agree this came out of left field. Well played sir, well played. Happy with whatever direction they go with this, but as I have said for year a Ferris Wheel would be awesome and is greatly needed, in my humble opinion.
  12. Thanks again for everyone who has taken the time to read and comment on this report. I have been meaning to get this final picture up and I figured today would be a great day, because the next RailRider Adventure is booked. Yosemite National Park in a Day and a Half at the end of August. Heading back to California, can't wait, stay tunned.
  13. Drachen Fire, very fun and unique Arrow Multilooper with some of the worst transitions I have ever experienced.
  14. You know I keep saying to myself I need to make it to an event, unfortunately every time it just doesn't fit the schedule. I have been so busy lately my time from this site is even lacking and living further away from KI doesn't help the cause. Also we are in the planning stagest for our next trip to Disney. I have the bug what can I say. Anyways I am hoping to get one trip in hopefully in July or September, but I am not sure when. Once it is planned you will be the first to know. That I can promise. Trust me I still owe you a Bombay and I haven't forgotten that...
  15. I am still amazed that such a little park in the middle of nowhere has become so popular with so many, but once you visit your know why. Holiday World is truly doing it right. Doesn't hurt either when a short drive away is some of the best BBQ around. Moonlight anyone? Thanks for sharing as always Jesse
  16. Did you ever ride the Eagles at KI? Did you ever see them in person? Have you seen the Eagles at Carowinds in person?
  17. selective you are obviously a troll, especially now that I see your rideaccident.com banner at the bottom of your posts. The KI Flying Eagles are considered some of the best around and they are much more snapable than the new versions that exist today. Your posts have become old and tired, please go troll somewhere else.
  18. I must agree with you Cory on all of your posts. This threat would have been much better with just the photos posted and nothing else mentioned or said. Unfortunately that is not the case. Fact, great photos Fact, the remainder of your posts are garbage. Rumor, I think you are related to the Dipin Dots Guy, especially with your conspiracy theories. Take that somewhere else. I feel dumber for even reading those.
  19. Funny but Hard Rock Cafe in MB has really become a dump in recent years compared to other Hard Rock Cafe's. Also Margarittaville at Broadway on the Beach turned a better buisness than HRC at Broadway. Maybe HRP would have been more successful if they had gone with a Jimmy Buffet theme
  20. Ive said it since inception of HRP. The location of the park is absolutely horrible. The former Waccama Pottery and Fantasy Harbor site has been dead for years and is so far off the beaten path that the majority of folks don't want to take the time or hassle getting to the park. As someone who has visted Myrtle Beach on a yearly basis I can tell you I have only been to that area twice. Once to take my mother-in-law to the QVC outlet (that is no longer there) and a second time to see HRP (I had no intentions on visting $$$). Once the Conway bypass was constructed very few visitors made their way in to MB via the old route, HRP being on the old route. Also the park is so far away from the beach and the grand strand resorts it can take about 20 minutes from downtown and 45 minutes or more depending on trafic from North MB. Folks come to MB to go to the beach, do a little shopping and dinning in the evening and maybe some putt put or a show. I would rather spend the cost of admission on either show tickets to the Carolina Opry or the Dixie Stampede, I know many others that would too. Like so many have said this park was doomed from the begining. Now if anyone is on the market for a slightly used dirgible I know just the place to get one on the cheap...
  21. For everyone that is complaining about the Boocifer name, realize that Sally is the ones behind the retheme, seeing as this is their Ghost Blasters ride that has replaced Scooby. This ride has been very successful at other parks and the story and concept are already established. Honestly if you find Boocifer offensive I am sorry for you and your sensativities. Seriously when did we as a country become so PC and sensitive about things? I say if your offended don't visit the park and you will be one less person in line that I must listen to complain... Once again I may be in the minority, but I like the name BBoBH and really like Boocifer.
  22. BBoBH is fine without the use of 3-D glasses, the use of them would just make the colors pop a little more and a little more depth to the scenes, but it is not the quality 4-D that you get on rides like Curse of Darkastle, Spiderman, Toy Story and the like. These attractions use special projectors and screens to produce this effect where BBoBH the effect is nothing more than what you would see on Circus of Horrors/Carnevil
  23. From what I have seen of pictures of this ride I must say that it looks much more impressive than Scooby. Also from the pictures it looks like more of the scenes will have animatronics and various effects coming at the ride vehicles, the mummy scene that has been mentioned by some looks to have a jumper type effect attached to it. Basically a scissor arm that extends the creature towards the vehicle. Should be interesting once the ride opens up. Quite excited and pleased so far. Also I like the new name.
  24. The assumptions in this thread are astounding. Fact there are some individuals that do not think Boo Blasters on Boo Hill is that bad of a name, I am one of them. Also if CF was only concerned with money as the reasson for not renewing the Nick agreement than why would they incorporate Peanuts at KI? Afterall that costs more nickles than just a genderic kidsville theme. There is a park that numbers it flags and its kids areas are filled with characters that have much less exposure and awareness than the Nick characters. Yet nobody complains about how outdated or the lack of awareness kids might have with those characters. Finaly for everyone that continues to question the drawing power and relevance of Peanuts, I present a summary of a single rating for 2009 airing of "Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" on ABC.
