$62 Million in Capital Expenditures for 2009, with the majority going towards Diamondback, Prowler, and Carolina Cobra. Also on an interesting note KD will be receiving Americana Wheel and ElDorado and several parks will receive the "All Wheels Extreme" Stunt show. Wonder if KI may be able to add this to their line up.PR Newswire

No trip to Italy yet, but more along the lines of a wonderful drink that was enjoyed by Lorenzo the Magnificent. Although if we partake in enough Tuaca we may see Lorenzo is some shape or form...

Great TR so far Gator. Avatar, just keep it up buddy. I know your planning on staying at the DoCesar so you dont need my advice. But if your not careful I will not introduce you to Tuaca which is more addicting than Bombay...

My sources report that the Smokey Mountain Slidewinder is closed for the seasson. They say it closes down in September. Shame that you will miss on a completely unique attraction. Just means a return trip is in order.

So I was in the area this weekend for my best friends wedding and had some free time to kill on Friday. I thought what better use than driving to KI and checking out the progress on DB, plus I hadn't seen the completed drop yet. Once arriving at the park I scouted the perimeter to check out the different views of DB. I must say this monster dominates the KI skyline now. I am amazed how it can be seen from all over. Of course the guest drop off gives a great view, but there are some hidden views like over in Afton Falls that really show off the drop and will look amazing with a full train screaming down. Also Kings High gives a great perspective showing DB with the Sons lift in the forground. DB even from that angle sits taller than DB. Here are some pics I snapped with my BlackBerry. If the right people came in HRP could be successful, but it will cost more than the $35 Millon floor. I could envision the Hard Rock droped as cost savings. How about the New OpryLand, the musical theme is a perfect fit, but Gaylord would not license it. Led Zep could become the Wabash Cannonball, Nights in White Satin could become Chaos Redux, and so on. I know it wont happen nor could it be anything like Opryland, but there is some existing brand equity there that would definately draw folks, especially if the entertainment was top nothch. Sorry just me wanting something to come back that never will... Should be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Well the Cincinnati Reds do something very awesome. When my Dad and I went to opening day this year, we got our picture taken out front, then received our ticket with id# and web address. Once we got home we were able to log on, see our photo and purchase if we wanted. All kinds of different purchasing options and they would send it right to us via usps. Very awesome and efficient system, I think KI could really make a killing with a system like that.

Beast1979 that was the best I could do with my protractor, hope it helps. Tiggy, the proof is in the pudding and the first drop looks excelent, how do you think this will compare to Behemoth? The drops look very similar to me. -

Ok this was a little difficult because of the angle of the drop, the picture and the curve. So using the main drop support, which by all accounts looks to be true vertical or as close as possible, that is my vertical or 90degree refrence for the drop. Basically worked my way out from that main support and used my trusty protractor to figure out the angle of the drop. DB doesnt hit 74 degrees until after it passes the main drop support and the pull out seems to be a little sharper than the initial drop in. I think that will lead DB to pull some nice G's at the bottom of the hill. I listed angles on the picture bellow to represent angle of drop at various points on the track. Its by no means completely accurate, but by no means was I able to disprove that DB does not hit 74 degrees, that was completely obvious... -
