  1. Reddi Wip - Maybe an whip ride (like the beetle bugs) but one that whole family can ride
  2. Hot chocolate/coffee is not included on the drink plan, there is a separate mug and charge. ($10.99 for the refill mug. Free refills day of purchase and $1 after that).
  3. Nice to see they finally have this information available. You do have to go to the 2nd screen (after saying how many tickets) to see the blackout dates. The park hours tab only shows the hours for Winterfest itself, not the buffet. Just so everyone is clear. Next open date seems to be Sunday.
  4. The International Restaurant has a different, more upscale menu than the Red's Grill. From memory the Red's Grill has Turkey, ham, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, breads and that's all I can remember at the moment (Bodda may remember more). As for the International restaurant below is a pic I took of the menu. They also have a cash bar to the left at the top of the stairs! If they are open or not is dependent on company sell-outs. I have told them they need to post when these are so people can plan accordingly. I would love to take my wife to the International buffet but would like to know when it is available to the general public. (Hopefully Don H. can help with this?) Most food places have special holiday menu options below is from the festhaus: Hope this helps....
  5. Went both Friday and Saturday night. The Lighting Ceremony is not to be missed. Simply magical! The new addition of Flight of Cheer as well as 'icicle lane' (where pumpkin eater was) is a great addition. Winterfest is definitely an improvement over an already spectacular event. The buffet in the international restaurant is $30 (24.99 for pass holders, i believe) and you can walk up without a reservation. The best part is to the left of the top of the stairs they have a cash bar! You can go up and enjoy an adult beverage and enjoy the view over international street! Definitely a great idea. Talking with the staff I found out that the international restaurant may be closed during "private events". I hope they communicate these times to the general public (lookin' at you Don :)) so as to know when it is not available. It would be nice to have an employee able to take pictures (or even have fun pix) for the snow globe. Seems like Fun Pix may be missing out on an opportunity there. Finally my main suggestion to improve the event is the same as last year: the Ice Carvers should have an announcer! Just someone to tell information like where the ice comes from? How long do they last? Is special oil needed for the equipment? What kind of equipment is used? How long does it take to be an ice scalper and how does one go about it? What is the name and experience of the sculptors? What is the history of Ice Sculpting (year, country of origin, etc.)? In addition they could be promoting the company that is doing the sculptures. Suggesting that they are available for weddings, Christmas parties, etc. It seems like it would be a small add with big payback. Overall a fantastic opening weekend. Well staffed and everyone was smiling. KI Keep up the good work!
  6. Invertigo is interesting from the standpoint that they could get it out of the way to use the space for a "front gate" coaster like other properties have been getting. It would be a tight fit, but having a coaster at the front (and in CP's case most) gates seems to be the trend.
  7. Still waiting for them to do the Pre-K pass at KI. My grandson just turned 4 and I'm taking him to CP in 3 weeks. He'll be able to get a Pre-K pass for free for the rest of this year and next. The Pre-K pass is a win-win. It encourages adults not to sneak a kid in (or pay for a pass 3/4 of the way through a season) and in addition the park KNOWS when your child turns 5 and can give you 'incentives' for a first-time gold pass purchase.
  8. Doesn't mean we could have both a Racer touch up and the wheel!
  9. Just encrypt the phone.
  10. As I stated in another forum, I'm thinking it's being removed to be relocated (hopefully to KI). They could put it in the old Flight Commander space and put an LED lighting package to match shake, rattle & roll, the scrambler and what is rumored for The Racer.
  11. I'd like to see the Wheel moved to KI, maybe in a large, circular spot on the left side of coney midway perhaps.....
  12. I have a Galaxy S8+ and love it. My wife swears by her Motorola. The main reason we stay away from apple is it's much better to have an external SD card to capture everything to. Both of our phones save straight to our SD Cards (64gig) and if we run out of space (takes some time unless she is videoing the grandchildren), we can just swap in new cards and keep the old ones for archival purposes. Lastly in case of the phone being damaged or if it stops working completely we can get to the last video/pictures we took even if we were not in a mobile data or wi-fi zone just by retrieving it from the SD card..
  13. It was a unique queue system. Riders go on from the inside the circle of pods and exited by the outside of the circle of pods. There is a lot of structure there and that is one of the reasons a skyroller makes sense. I'm not sure, but I believe the same type of loading system would work nicely.
  14. I always thought a ride like Skyhawk (Skyroller) at Canada's Wonderland would be perfect here.
  15. The statue head in the commercial seems to be the same on as the idol who dumps the lava at the top of the last hill (just different lighting/colors).
  16. I have a bottle of the Boysenberry BBQ sauce from Knotts in my fridge now. It's fantastic!
  17. I'm always scratching my head at that one as well. Up at Cedar Point they allow me to stay on all the time. One morning I rode Maverick 5 times in a row because no one was in my row when the train came back in. Also had it happen at close on GateKeeper and Raptor. You would think that the more people on the coaster the better (valleying, smoother ride, etc.).
  18. Just some quick notes on Funpix. My bought my grandson a platinum pass last year (he will be 7 this summer and we go to Cedar Point 1-2 times a year with him). When I put the funpix on his card last year (renewed it for this season) they asked if I wanted to add it to another card (seem's your allowed 2). I put it on his pass (which his mother keeps, I have him digitally on my KI app) and on mine. I find I use my physical pass on the self-serve kiosks on the ride photos, easier access. Anyway, when you go to CP this year go STRAIGHT to the funpix location where you get your pictures at the front of the park and make sure they see the funpix on your card. Mine didn't transfer and they asked for my receipt (2 months after I paid for it and the receipt was at home). Anyway after seeing the 25+ funpix pictures on my account they were convinced I had purchased it and added it to the card. So I would take your receipt showing you purchased funpix when you go up to the point, it will save you heartache later in the day. I find the funpix is the best value (I have 3 grandkids total) and had over 169 photos last year between KI and CP. My wife and I went to Knotts this year and already have 5 for this season, we did have the same problem but with the added issue that they had to give me a new platinum pass, everything transfered over just fine, the big problem was I had an "old style" platinum pass (the ones that have Kings Island on the front in big letters) and I am unable to transfer the Knotts pass back to my old Platinum. Everyone always made a comment about my "old school" pass. I asked them this week to transfer everything back, but the couldn't so I just asked for a replacement card so it at least says Kings Island on the back. Any way, don't forget Funpix lasts thorught Winterfest (the had a nice snow effect last year they gave you a copy of on the app). It's strange that I used to avoid the people taking my picture when I would go in due to not wanting to pay each time (I would claim "witness protection program" :)). But now since I have Funpix, I hunt them down each time I go Enjoy Funpix and your season!
  19. Actually I noticed Rivertown potato works had poutine fries for winterfest. didn't get a chance to try them though.
  20. Honestly, after seeing the INCREDIBLE investment made for Winterfest I would be satisfied if we didn't get anything for 2018. Winterfest was a capital investment of monumental proportions (4 million in lights alone I was told by the Dippin' Dot's Guy). For them to put in millions of dollars for 1 month is just incredible. Granted they will get the return on investment now that most of the lights, decorations and signs have been bought, still I'm in awe of how much this must have cost to roll out not just at Kings Island, but other parks as well. That being said, 2019 should bring a coaster, and a big one
  21. There are also performers from Cedar Point in the shows.
