Sorry if I confused anyone. The drinking fountain appears to be getting ignored. The past two times I'be been to the park, the drain has been clogged, so the bowl has been full of water. As I said, it's kinda back in a corner, so you likely wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it.

In terms of disgusting, the weirdest thing I saw was a large woman wearing tight cotton shorts with "bootylicious" plastered across the backside, complete with a fake lip print in the middle of it. My sister and I couldn't believe anyone would be that disgusting - it's bad enough that large women feel the need to wear skin-tight clothing, but "bootylicious"? How crude can you get?

I'd much rather see them replace the CEO with someone who doesn't hoard nickels and think his son is the best candidate to run one of the company's parks...

It has its advantages. This past Saturday, about an hour after the park opened, the line was 45 minutes, yet the SRL was near the top of the stairs. I went through the SRL twice and got two rides in less than 20 minutes.

One interesting thing to note about that picture of The Monster... It lacks the "latch pin" which is now in place (not my photo): According to http://capital2.capital.edu/admin-staff/dalthoff/adventures/tr2006/uspki02.html the latch pin was added for the 2006 season (though I seem to remember it being there long before then).

Possibly, but if that were the case, why would these be permanently mounted instead of the Windmaster style portable signs?

I have heard of El Toro and Colossus. Didn't know they were Intamins though.
-
I didn't even know Intamun made wooden coasters...

Vortex is indeed 48", so he can ride it.

What's worse is trying to explain it to the parents... 2005 was not a fun year for ride ops at Beastie either...
-
Exactly what I was thinking. I wish we'd at least gotten an explanation as to why it stopped.

Interesting find. That shirt couldn't have been around more than a season or two with both Flight of Fear and King Cobra listed. For some reason I thought KC was closed before FoF was put in.

During my visits to KI this year, I've seen a sign on a gate by Timberwolf mentioning a "Beast Challenge"and saying something about looking for a drawing of The Beast under one of the seats. It also has a "Clue" section that has been erased (it's a dry-erase board). For whatever reason, I didn't think much of it. However, I noticed another such sign at Vortes, saying to ride Vortex and get your on-ride photo as proof. The clue basically said to play the Peach Baskets game (though not directly). Does anyone here know anything else about this? I searched this site and Google but couldn't find anything.

It is a season pass perk on Sundays for Skyflyer for 5 bucks all day. Show your Gold or Plat pass at the time of sale Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind next time I'm at KI on a Sunday.

I rode it once and that was enough for me. The initial drop is a bit thrilling, but after that you're just swinging through the air for a bit. I'd much rather spend my 100 nickels on Slingshot, which offers a unique view of the park.

I doubt CF would ever convert Boomerang Bay to its own park with separate admission, not only because it would be difficult to do (with the train and walking path), but also because they'd never be able to compete with The Beach at that point - The Beach is larger, has more attractions and a lot less concrete, among other things.

KENTUCKY KINGDOM CLOSED

According to RCDB, Iron Wolf is still operating, and it is a B&M stand-up. I'm not sure why you'd need two of them in the same park either. -
Yes they are. You can find them at the KI Pretzel Stand on I-Street near Festhaus.

Unfortunately if she can't be there I don't think you have an option. I remember reading somewhere that the passholder and the guest must purchase the ticket on the "bring a friend free" day.

The park really should get in touch with the National Carousel Organization as well... They have a preservation fund which is used for "grants for the preservation and restoration of operating carousels and for related projects". I have no idea what needs to be done to get access to those grants, but I'm sure they'd be willing to help. When I get a chance I'll email Don and see if they have any more info on the organ yet. I've been meaning to email him about why the 5@5 was abruptly stopped anyway...

It's not showing up there for me either. Looks like it's something Ryan or Dane will have to handle.

As per the Gold Pass VIP Benefits page on the KI website: Sunday-Friday: 1/2-hour ERT on DB and Beast Monday: 1/2-hour ERT in Planet Snoopy Wednesday: 1/2-hour ERT in Boomerang Bay Saturday: 1-hour ERT on DB and Beast I believe that the Planet Snoopy ERT also includes Boo Blasters (despite the park's insistence that it is not part of Planet Snoopy).

And for those who have no clue what "touchdown Jesus" has to do with this: http://www.journal-news.com/news/crime/jesus-statue-catches-fire-in-storm-762245.html
