This is probably just a busy weekend for them - they've got the new Starlight Spectacular, the Action Sports tour, the military promotion, etc., plus they're likely working on the final details of their summer shows. Also, for those wondering what happened to the fireworks on Saturday, apparently they were having technical difficulties with them, at least that's what we were told by the guy selling all the flashy toys near the front of the park. The fact that they didn't play the "all rides and attractions are now closing for the night" spiel until almost 10:30 seems to confirm this. They did have fireworks on Sunday night like usual.

I'm sure there's a good reason for that (beyond company policy) - likely due to state laws and/or insurance restrictions.

I went to the balloon glow last year, so I know it'll be crowded. I got there around 6 last year and still got to ride just about everything before the night was over (I think I rode everything except Ferris Wheel, Rock-O-Planes and Scrambler).

My Bright Idea for what to do with Son of Beast

That's the first time I can ever recall a coaster being relocated to a different country. Wonder how much it cost them to ship it to Brazil... -
Hopefully they'll have shows in the evening as well as during the day/afternoon. I plan on being at Coney on the 3rd for the balloon glow and fireworks, but may have to work in the morning.

They called my cell phone this morning (I gave them that number when I got my pass), but I didn't hear it ring. The message did go to my voice mail, but got cut off due to the recording time limit (AT&T apparently limits voice mail messages to two minutes unless you have the "advanced" voice mail service). Still, it was nice to see the park taking time to tell us of upcoming events.

My favorite fail ride would definitely have to be Son of Beast. After that it would probably be the short-lived Scooby's Ghoster Coaster (fun little ride, but the capacity was horrible).
-
I will agree with you on Adventure Express. The entrance is easy to pass up if you're not looking for it, and the coaster isn't one that's easily visible from most parts of the park due to its location. However, it is a surprisingly fun ride, especially from the middle seat (3-2).

I just went through the caller ID and sure enough, they called here too, but I was at work at the time. I don't know if my parents answered or not.

Glad they're looking into that sign and the I-Street camera. Also good to see that The Racer cam is back up - it wasn't working yesterday.

I was wondering why he was a trending topic on Twitter. Sad to hear that!

As I mentioned earlier, your best option is to call the park regarding any questions related to employment, regardless of what's said here. Things can and do change, and there's no guarantee that the policy this year will be the same as it was last year.

Friday will probably be less crowded than Saturday, but I didn't go on the Friday before Memorial Day last year, so I don't know how bad the crowds were. It will probably be dead earlier in the day before everyone gets off of work/school, but things will likely pick up in the evening, especially since they offer discounted admission after 4 (I don't remember the exact details of that though).
-
I would expect it to be crowded on Saturday due to the holiday weekend, the ASA World Sports Action Tour, the prediction of good weather and the beginning of Snoopy's Starlight Experience.
-
If in doubt, call the park.

On the subject of ice water, I learned two things about it at KI this past Saturday: 1. If the stand you go to is out of the small cups, they will tell you to go to a different stand 2. The candy store on I-Street no longer gives out large cups of ice water like they did last season

I am glad to see they will be opening both decks when it gets busy. That certainly helps relieve the wait time. I'm surprised they only got four questions. I thought about asking another one to give them 5, but I figured they'd have more than enough by the time they answered them. Guess not.

From what I understand, the loop was removed so they could use lighter trains in an attempt to reduce wear and tear on the ride structure. The loop is not likely to return, as nice as that would be. It wouldn't surprise me if that loop has since been sold for scrap metal. -
I said they were a competitor, not the major competitor. I just figured RC was more of a competitor in that area than they would be elsewhere given that there's a bottling plant an hour away.

Yesterday, KI posted a picture on their Facebook page showing Gary Coleman on his 2000th Diamondback ride. Several people who saw that picture were apparently unable to comprehend that there might be more than one person named Gary Coleman, as there are several comments along the lines of "That doesn't look like Gary Coleman!".

"The Cincinnati Kids" will be on TV Land May 20th

Did The Racer originally have trains set up similar to those on Woodstock, with the buzz bars and bench seats? I honestly don't see why individual lap bars or seat dividers are necessary. -
It does not matter if it looks like there will be a tornado. If a warning is issued, you must take necessary precautions to ensure the guests are safe.
