  1. Chang's fate depends on numerous things: Who actually owns it right now How much it would cost to return it to the park Whether or not there's actually a spot for it at the park anymore (it was removed to expand the waterpark)
  2. I would expect it to be crowded on Saturday due to the holiday weekend, the ASA World Sports Action Tour, the prediction of good weather and the beginning of Snoopy's Starlight Experience.
  3. On the subject of ice water, I learned two things about it at KI this past Saturday: 1. If the stand you go to is out of the small cups, they will tell you to go to a different stand 2. The candy store on I-Street no longer gives out large cups of ice water like they did last season
  4. I am glad to see they will be opening both decks when it gets busy. That certainly helps relieve the wait time. I'm surprised they only got four questions. I thought about asking another one to give them 5, but I figured they'd have more than enough by the time they answered them. Guess not.
  5. From what I understand, the loop was removed so they could use lighter trains in an attempt to reduce wear and tear on the ride structure. The loop is not likely to return, as nice as that would be. It wouldn't surprise me if that loop has since been sold for scrap metal.
  6. I said they were a competitor, not the major competitor. I just figured RC was more of a competitor in that area than they would be elsewhere given that there's a bottling plant an hour away.
  7. Yesterday, KI posted a picture on their Facebook page showing Gary Coleman on his 2000th Diamondback ride. Several people who saw that picture were apparently unable to comprehend that there might be more than one person named Gary Coleman, as there are several comments along the lines of "That doesn't look like Gary Coleman!".
  8. The park did reopen yesterday. I heard on the news that they closed Saturday because the storms Friday night caused a lot of sand and mulch to end up in the pools, so they had to clean them before they could open them.

  10. Did The Racer originally have trains set up similar to those on Woodstock, with the buzz bars and bench seats? I honestly don't see why individual lap bars or seat dividers are necessary.
  11. It does not matter if it looks like there will be a tornado. If a warning is issued, you must take necessary precautions to ensure the guests are safe.
  12. Considering that they just turned Tower Gardens into one giant designated smoking area, I don't see the park going completely smoke free anytime soon. Evem if they did, some people still think they can smoke wherever they want regardless of the rules...
  13. Random guest on the carousel: (As the ride started) "Giddyup, Seabiscuit!" (As the ride ended) "Whoa, Seabiscuit, whoa!" Also, a guest on Diamondback told his friend that they changed Racer back to having both sides running forward so "they can just run one side when they're not busy", and that "Cedar Fair always blames others for things they change".
  14. I completely forgot about what's now KI Theater being "American Heritage Music Hall". Looks like they had some awesome shows there back in the day!
  15. If they do install park-wide wifi, then insist on charging guests for it, they'd likely take it out again due to "lack of interest" from guests, as very few people would be willing to pay for wifi these days, and CF would end up spending more on it than they were making...
  16. Question asked for today's 5@5: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=395513181948 4th comment
  17. I would suggest calling the park and asking about their "parent swap" program as well. This will let one of you ride while the other waits with the kids, and then you can swap places without having to wait in line again. This won't allow you to ride together, but you both still get to ride the bigger rides. I don't know exactly how it works, but the park can give you more info. The park's number is 1-800-288-0808.
  18. No, you don't. Starbucks, like most coffee shops these days, has free wifi. However, when I was in the one at KI on opening day, they did not have wifi. I do not know if this has changed though.
  19. And, of course, questions that could be answered by a simple google search were answered... Don't worry, my question about the tacky peeling wallpaper in the BBoBH queue has been ignored too. Or my questions about the status of the carousel organ and if we could see an "estimated wait time" sign at Vortex...
  20. I'm sure the lower prices earlier in the day help with that as well. I for one have never had an urge to pay $20 to ride it, but was quite eager to pay $5 to ride it this past Saturday (it was the first time I actually remembered to buy a ticket before the price went up to $15 or $20).
  21. Interesting that only 4 of the current rides/attractions were there when the water park opened 21 years ago. I thought there were more than that left.
  22. The price seems to vary. Most times I've seen it at $8, but when I meandered by there late in the day this past Friday, they were $10.
  23. Where was King Cobra located? I rode it a few times before it got removed, but I don't remember where it was.
  24. I thought Race For Your Life was located where King Cobra used to be. Did they move it after King Cobra was taken out?
