  1. Print off the voucher (or bring it up on your phone) and show it to the cashier.
  2. The best part of the Intimidator ride page (at least on desktop): "Hand-held infants and service dogs are not allowed to ride".
  3. AAA Ohio shows tickets for $34.75 for members.
  4. It was working initially that day, as it had a big line when most of the coasters went down for weather around 11:30 or so. Not sure when it went down.
  5. This is apparently a test run at the company's headquarters in Switzerland. I've never even heard of abc rides before, but that certainly is an interesting concept. (Also, note: "abc rides" is how the company capitalizes their name...)
  6. Unfortunately I'm going to have to miss out this year. I decided not to take off the 3rd this year because it's on a weekend and I already took two days off in the past two weeks (the 21st for the Weird Al concert in Kettering and yesterday for my birthday).
  7. It's just used to add fun to the race - guests are covered with colored powder or liquid at various stations along the race. According to Wikipedia, the official Color Run events use colored powder made from food-grade corn starch (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Color_Runfor more info).
  8. Rode Boo Blasters again yesterday and it was actually working pretty well. I had 1200 points by the time I got to the organ scene and ended up with a score of 1698 if I remember correctly. In addition, the tourist guy was actually working again - first time in a couple years I've seen him moving. There were still some non-working targets though.
  9. I'm wondering what exactly was in the powder that caused it to burn/explode like that.
  10. I need to get back down there sometime this year and ride the stuff I didn't get to ride when I was there last month - particularly the Giant Wheel.
  11. The main reason it's so packed today is it's "bring a friend for $14.99" day. I'm sure the lovely weather is a factor in that as well, but not the main factor.
  12. It says "Designed by Dane Thomas" on the cafepress page so I'd assume he's the one to ask
  13. Hopefully we can also resolve whatever technical problems were keeping Terpy from posting with the new system as well. It's been really weird not seeing him around here lately.
  14. I might depending on how tired I am. I'll have to work that weekend and don't know if I want to drive up to KI to stand in line at a food truck. Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
  15. As I was getting off Viking Fury earlier, a lady was complaining to the ride ops because she thought the ride cycle was shorter than usual (even saying something like "we went two cycles fewer than usual"). I didn't pay much attention to the conversation and didn't stick around to see what happened, but I felt sorry for the employees who had to deal with her.
  16. Note that following the controversy, the park has since removed the part about "islamically appropriate clothing" from the event info on its website...
  17. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/alton-towers-crash-failsafes-that-should-have-kept-the-smiler-carriages-apart-did-not-work-10293639.html
  18. http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/584338/WaterWorld-Stoke-on-Trent-Muslim-Islam-waterpark-women-only-bikini-ban-clothing-veil-burqa I'm really scratching my head on this one. Note that the park has since removed the "islamically appropriate clothing" restriction from the event description on its website, but I still don't understand exactly what they were trying to accomplish. A "ladies only" night is fine, but you can't claim it's "not specific to any ethnic or religious group" while asking everyone to dress in accordance with a specific religion.
  19. The NBC Bay Area report on the accident paints a somewhat more gruesome image of what happened: http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Californias-Great-America-Injuries-307240951.html While I feel sorry for that employee and his family, at this point it almost certainly sounds like someone wasn't following proper procedures. The question here is whether the ride operators knew that he was there. Typically, someone entering a restricted area while the ride is in operation would result in the ride being e-stopped, followed by park security and management being called - even if that person was an employee of the park, since ride operators should also be aware of lockout requirements/procedures.
  20. Would have been interesting to hear her story as far as how they got that ride to KI in the first place then
  21. Son of Beast was a far different ride than Beast. They were the same in that they shared part of a name and they were both wooden. That's about it.
  22. The big field at the back of the park is also used for Rock the World.
  23. It's been closed since mid-May actually.
  24. It's just a paid ad somewhat disguised to look like a news article instead...
  25. Not sure if this is intentional or not, but both the Off Topic and Multimedia & Gaming boards are shown for guests even though guests can't access them (you get an error if you click on one of them when you're not logged in).
