  1. I don't see BLSC going anywhere for a while, unless it becomes a maintenance/safety nightmare or the popularity suddenly decreases.
  2. They posted it to their Facebook page and I was able to read it without a subscription... Try this link: http://bizj.us/1ig4oy
  3. "Totally" floorless? I wasn't aware that you could have a coaster that was only partially floorless...
  4. Nice interview with Greg Scheid, courtesy of the local edition of the Business Courier: http://bizj.us/1ig4oy Edit: Fixed link
  5. When I was on Magnum on Monday, we stopped on the lift hill briefly before a ride op walked up, had a brief chat with a guest a few rows up, then walked back to the station with said guest's cell phone. The person did get their phone back after the ride, but I'm glad to see CP actually doing something instead of endless "please put your phone away" requests over the PA...
  6. At Cedar Point yesterday, I heard two different guests refer to Rougarou as "Ragarou".
  7. The one time I saw that happen, that's where the ride computer stopped the ride. It went up a little too high on the load side for some reason, then there was a brief "screech" sound as the brakes were applied. At that point the ride panel started beeping as the "Alarm Silence" button flashed, the ride slowed and stopped in the valley on the far side. It's probably a safety feature because it's easier to get people off if needed when it's low like that.
  8. It's a big Christian music festival on August 22nd. The park will be busy that day, but I still found plenty of time to ride things even though I didn't get there til noon or later last year. See http://www.holidayworld.com/shows-events/rock-world/ for more info. Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
  9. Still debating whether I want to make another weekend trip to Holiday World for Rock The World next month...
  10. The red track from what I've seen is going to a park in China. Don't know about the other track.
  11. We'll find out whether it's real or not in a little over a month and a half
  12. I have no plans of ever going to that park anyway, and if I did I'd probably fly into Monterrey and drive from there.
  13. I'm not sure you could run more than two trains on that. Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
  14. Anyone want to take a trip down to Guadalupe, Mexico next year? Only 1500 miles and a 23-hour drive from Cincinnati (not counting stops of course )
  15. That's because PTC decided to specifically recommend not running trains backwards. In Ohio, you either follow all manufacturer recommendations or the ride doesn't get certified to operate.
  16. The paragraph at the end of that article certainly doesn't make me want to visit that park anytime soon... Why would you not follow all recommended maintenance procedures?
  17. I'm glad nobody was hurt, but I'm curious as to why that ride was allowed to operate to begin with. Bungee cords are not designed for that sort of thing, and it could have been far worse if the cables had snapped further up or they had snapped while the ride was in the air. I've also never seen a park hire a third-party company to operate a ride like that.
  18. Thanks so much for your hard work! It's great to have it working properly again. I especially missed it after hearing the band organ on Kentucky Kingdom's carousel.
  19. Such cheesy advertising... and in glorious 4K resolution for those who have a device supporting it.
  20. I can fully understand not allowing the ride to move in "normal" operation mode when there's a sensor fault like this. However, there is absolutely no reason why it should take a backup generator and having people climb out escape hatches in the roof to get people off the ride. I wonder if we'll hear any more about why they couldn't get it going again.
  21. Going back a page, another interesting note about that T3 article. The guy who wrote it is an intern for the Louisville Courier-Journal. Given how big of a deal Kentucky Kingdom is to Louisville residents (good or bad), and the fact that Louisville's paper is the biggest one in the state (much like how Indy's paper is the biggest in Indiana), that makes me think they did it simply because someone in management told them they had to (possibly higher-ups at Gannett?). Why else would the big local paper throw something like that to an intern?
  22. They were on opposite sides when I originally posted this. See the photos linked in the first post. Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
  23. You missed the last part of the link... http://www.wftv.com/news/news/local/riders-struck-after-orlando-eye-stops/nmrRJ/
  24. Print off the voucher (or bring it up on your phone) and show it to the cashier.
