  1. Plus they reported it 2 days after I reported it here. That is slow reporting for an all news station! It's not even their photo. It says "WLFI Photo" underneath it. WLFI is the CBS affiliate out of West Lafayette, Indiana. Apparently it was easier to borrow a photo from a closer station than to search the web for better photos.
  2. I wonder how well that Holidays in the Park thing will work at Great Adventure. I wonder how well that will work given the harsh winters they typically have in that part of the country.
  3. And these people were supposed to know what they were doing...
  4. The area where the operator sits is stationary. The rest of the ride rotates around it. Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
  5. I was implying that the Carolina Harbor name was because the states border an ocean... Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
  6. The author is a "Client Strategy Manager" for Gannett... https://www.linkedin.com/in/corneliusdawn Also, who considers something 2 1/2 hours away as being "nearby"? Even here in Cincinnati most people wouldn't consider Louisville "nearby", let alone someone in Nashville.
  7. I've ridden the Electric Rainbow, which now resides at Stricker's Grove. The Super Round-Up at Coney Island is more fun in my opinion.
  8. Also just noticed this got posted in the wrong place. Mods can someone move it please?
  9. No injuries as this occurred during a test run prior to the ride opening. http://wobm.com/fire-reported-at-keansburg-amusement-park/ Also see http://www.ride-extravaganza.com/intermediate/gravitron/ if you're not familiar with that type of ride.
  10. Ouimet seems to be doing something for everyone at most parks... KI: Big coaster in 2014, family ride and kiddie ride in 2015, water slide complex next year KBF: Dark ride for 2015, 75th anniversary celebration of "ghost town area" next year (not many details on that yet) KD: New thrilling flat ride for next year Carowinds: Big coaster this year, water park expansion/improvement next year (all but confirmed given park hints and such) California's Great America: Planet Snoopy expansion this year (nothing announced for 2016 yet) Cedar Point: Family rides and other improvements in 2014; Renovated hotel, midway improvements, refurbished coaster and picnic area for 2015; new coaster for 2016

  12. I'm sure they only tow people as a last resort, as it's a big hassle to do that - especially since it could resort in someone not having an easy way to leave the park at the end of the day. I'm guessing KI police have the ability to write actual tickets, but I don't fully understand how privatized police forces like that work, so I'm not sure on that.
  13. A couple visits to CP will make it worth the extra cost in my opinion. Between 6-8 visits to KI so far this season and 2 more to CP, I'm sure I've gotten my money's worth.
  14. I'm thinking ERT will be for all passholders and not just those who renewed. Also great to see they're doing a preview night again next year. That was a great time for rides this year.
  15. I'm not familiar with that park, but it sounds like a great addition for 2016 - something for families and youngsters alike. It'll be interesting to see what kind of coaster they get for Flying Ace.
  16. I'm not sure about the fine thing... The company I work for has a contract with a collection agency to force people to pay parking tickets (this is also how we get people for tailgating out of the garage).
  17. Price and general rider experience are probably the two main factors in determining which model to pick.
  18. Moser Rides also makes a similar ride: http://www.moserrides.com/thrillrides/sidewinder/sidewinder.htm
  19. Expert says Cedar Point, not roller coaster rider, bears much of the blame in park death: http://www.cleveland.com/travel/index.ssf/2015/08/expert_says_cedar_point_not_ro.html Where do they find these clowns?
  20. Interesting. The platinum+dining plan+all season bottle is $0.06 cheaper if you do it in payments compared to paying for it all at once
  21. I'm looking forward to seeing the new parking structure. It will be more convenient for those coming from the north since the north tolls are rarely open anyway (except on extremely busy days), and I'm particularly excited about dedicated lanes for passholders. The new slide complex will be interesting to see. I'm not a huge fan of body slides, so I don't know if I'll be taking advantage of those slides (and likely won't be doing the aqua launch slide). I don't visit Soak City much anyway, but that could change depending on how the new slide complex affects lines at things I like riding. I still think a water coaster would be a great addition as well, but at least it sounds like they're trying to appeal to everyone rather than just enthusiasts, which is a good thing. I have no idea if I'll be taking advantage of the new "free refills all season" souvenir cup. I got a free souvenir cup this season at Coasterstock and have rarely taken it to the park at all. Most of the time I'd either get water throughout the day or pay for drink when I got my meal.
  22. They are removing two things - the existing parking toll structures
  23. I see that now. Similar picture anyway. Sent from my LG G3 using Tapatalk
  24. That first photo was taken by PointBuzz member ApexMotorsports, per CP Food Blog (who shared it on their Facebook page). http://pointbuzz.com/Forums/Topic/track-has-arrived-#545524
