  1. I totally agree! Why would any coaster enthusiest want a coaster removed? I dislike Firehawk, because in my opinion it's a boring ride with a really long wait time. So why would I waste my time on it. However, I would never want it removed, because I know other people enjoy it, and it adds a lot to the X-Base area. Just because I don't ride Firehawk doesn't mean I would want it gone becasue it adds to the parks atmosphere. Back to SoB, I rode towards the back of Son of Beast this year, and it wasn't bad at all. I wasn't "in horrible pain". I enjoyed the ride back there! Riding towards the front can make it much smoother, but it's not "required to have an enjoyable ride". Son of Beast is one of the most thrilling rides in the park. I have a lot of GP family and friends, and most of them enjoy Son of Beast, so it's not just a select few coaster enthusiests that like it. Son of Beast is special to me. It was my first inverting coaster back when it very first opened. Son of Best helped to turn me into the coaster enthusiest I am today.
  2. then you said that because the line has gone from 5-15 minutes to 40-60 minutes that it must be more popular. Call me crazy, but I call that contradictory. Well, I don't want to argue with you, so it will be my last post on that subject. I was saying you CANNOT base ride popularity ALONE on a ride's wait time. Even if SoB has a longer wait time than The Beast, it doesn't mean it is more popular, it just means it has a slower capacity. However when looking at Son of Beast's wait time after it reopened from the accident and it only had a 5-15 minute wait, then comparing Son of Beast's current usual wait time of about 40-60 minutes you can conclude that the popularity has increased because the capacity sure hasn't magically changed.
  3. Umm........ok.....you just contradicted yourself. Ummm........no I didn't. I wasn't saying "Son of Beast has a 45 minute wait, so it must be popular" I was comparing the wait time from when it first opened after the accident, to the wait times it has currently. And that time has increased so therefore the popularity has increased.
  4. Son of Beast is a great coaster, and after the accident on it, it appears to be getting some of it's popularity back. I know you can't base popularity on line length, but I'm just comparing times. When it first reopened after the accident it didn't usually have much of a line, normally like 5-15 minutes. Now it has about a 40-60 minute wait, so therefore the popularity has increased. I really don't want it closed or removed, it's a fun ride and it's record breaking. So, I am a SoB lover, not a hater.
  5. Oh I see. Did they figure out what caused the ride to tip or collapse? If so, did they fix the problem?
  6. So what exactly happened that caused most parks to remove their "Chaos" style rides? I loved Chaos when I went to Cedar Point last year. It was such an intense flat ride. We were making our car flip as many times as we could, it was awesome! I would love if it got moved to Kings Island, exactly where eurobungie is now. I would have to say Chaos is one of my favorite flat rides.
  7. Great TR! Looks like you guys had an awesome time all day. It sucks the rides we're closed for a while, but I guess you guyd made some fun memories while waiting for the "big rides" to reopen! It was nice meeting you and talking in the parking lot. BTW I wasn't the hungover one, it was just Ashley and our brother. Next time we won't leave so early!
  8. You too! I wish we would have stayed, but there's always next time! Sorry! I was just trying to get a few pictures of everyone just talking. Thanks lol I;m underage!
  9. Yeah I wanted to stay longer yesterday, but I guess that's what having a season pass is for, you can come back whenever. That would be fun to hang out again!
  10. You're very welcome! I know! Everytime we say we're going to meet up, we sort of just don't. Next time we'll actually meet up and ride stuff. Were you guys just getting there when we saw you?
  11. Here are the pictures! I see Diamondback! Here's a pretty empty Nick U. Diamondback's hills in the distance train going up the lift hill Picture of the group Here's Justin's awesome costume LOL more random group pics Ashley and Angie posing! Us getting our picture taken right before we left These are just shots I took on the way out. Storm clouds moving in! Me and Ashley More storm clouds moving in
  12. I know you were just kidding, it just sucks we didn't get a chance to meet back up with you guys.
  13. My brother Brian (doesn't have a username), my sister Ashley(Ashers on KIC), and I got to the park at around 10:15 to find a large group of KICers waiting around by Diamondback's exit. After waiting for what seemed like forever, Ashley, Brian, PKIruler, Keiko Coaster, and myself decide to run over to Wild Thornberry's River Adventure since it had no line, and the large group of KICers was still waiting for Rachel (StalkerChick) to arrive. So we run over to that and get on in a few minutes. Brian, PKIruler, and myself rode in a boat, and Ashley and Keiko rode in another. It was a lot of fun! I rode in the back and hardly got wet, but Brian rode in the front and got drenched! We got off of WTRA and went back over with the group to sit and wait. After like 20 more minutes Brian, Ashley, Keiko, and Gigacoaster2k, were tired of waiting, so we stood up and started walking to Diamondback. Soon the large group of KICers followed us to make a group of 19! It was fun! You can definately tell the difference between a group of coaster enthusiests riding Diamondback than the GP. We were cheering really loud when our train rolled back into the station! After getting off of Diamondback we all stopped for a group picture! Ashley, Brian, Danielle, and I were getting hungry, so we decided to skip the 2nd lap on Diamondback to get some food. We ate at the Central Grill in Nick Universe. The chicken meal was good, and a good value too! It was 8 bucks for quiet a few chicken tenders, and I pile of curly fries. Danielle, Ashley, and I all got the chicken meal. Brian however got the burger and said it was pretty gross. So he wasn't feeling good from drinking too much the night before, and now a bad burger on top of that, so he wasn't feeling too good at all. So we figured we were leaving earlier than we planned So before we had to leave we wanted to ride a few more things on the otherside of the park. WE walked right on to the Blue Racer (red also had a walkon). Mental Note: Only ride on Red Racer side! Blue is way rougher! It was still fun though. Next we decided to hop on Adventure Express. This too was almost a walkon. This ride is still fun for not being one of the big coasters. Then we went into Action Zone and waited a couple cycles for Delirium, I wanna say we waited two cycles and got on the third?... I like Delirium, the cycle is just way too short. Once you get going, you stop. Then we walked over to Drop Tower, we waited two cycles for this, and got on the third. I love Drop Tower! It's such a rush! Brian said that he was done riding rides and didn't want to ride anything else, so we decided to just leave at 2:00pm It was a really fub trip! We got to meet a lot of really cool people, and we had a great time! It sucks we had to leave early, but just as we were leaving the rain started. I can't wait until the next KIC meet-up, maybe then we'll actually get to stay with the group! Hope everyone else had a good time too! Pictures are on the way! stay tuned!
  14. LOL, we didn't ditch you guys to go to Nick Universe! We were all getting hungry so we decided to skip the 2nd lap of Diamondback to get something to eat. Then we realised we were going to leave earlier than we wanted to, because Brian (our other brother) was saying how he didn't feel good from drinking too much the night before. So we wanted to get on a few more rides other than Diamondback before we left. So We went over to the other side of the park and got on Racer, AE, Delirium, and Drop Tower before we had to leave at 2:00. I guess we did sort of abandon the group, but I'm sure there will be a next time, when Ashley and Brian are feeling a bit better, and we won't have to leave the group! Anyways, sounds like you guys had a good time after the rained cleared up. It was good seeing you again! Oh yeah, the love of the front seat of SoB is spreading!
  15. Great PTR. It sucks we had to leave at 2! I still had a great time though. Those pictures infront of the Mystery Machine are hilarious!
  16. Oh yeah, I also miss those "special things" Paramount brought. I remember going to at least 3. The Titanic one, which was really cool, although I hardly remember it. There was also some sort of Dinosaur one, where they had animatronic dinosaurs, and stuff set up. The last one I remember going to which I think was the most recent one, but was still quiet a few years ago. Was a videogame thing. They had a big tent set up with videogame tournaments. I think they we're having Halo tournaments. I also remember them having a computer with RCT3 on it set up. Since my computer couldn't even run the third one when it came out, that was the first time I got to play the third one until I got a new graphics card. Those little events were really unique and a lot of fun! I don't think they even did them in the later years of paramount though, please correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. I've seen that video so many times yet I can still watch it again and again, remembering what "The Crypt" once was. Tomb Raider: The Ride used to be one of my favorite rides at Kings Island, but now, I hate The Crypt. It's so dumb and boring compared to TRTR. I even liked Tomb Raider in it's final year where half the effects worked, a million times better than what The Crypt is today. I HATE THE CRYPT! lol
  18. It's always cool to see people's tattoos. That must be a pretty hardcore Diamondback fan. I might get a tattoo at some point in my life, I just have no clue what I'd get!
  19. I think I miss the music and Tomb Raider The Ride. Although I am much happier with the current ownership. If CBS was still in charge, we would probably have no Flight of Fear (it was rumored to be in a new ride rotation program) and no Diamondback.
  20. From what I can tell from the other pictures, is it looks like bleacher seats for some kind of show?...... edit: looking at the picture with the ferris wheel, they look like the same bleacher seats that are in the background of the ferris wheel picture.
  21. Thanks! I think I had only seen like one photo of the Ferris Wheel before I stumbled upon these pictures. International street looks awesome in those pictures. I love how nice everything looks, not to mentioned how well themed it looks! Even the trashcans look cool! haha. I love how International street used to look like a street. It used to have sidewalks and everything. I also like the landscaping around the fountains, it looks really cool. I guess one thing I really enjoy about today's version of I-Street, is that it now has the trees fully grown, they provide nice shade on those hot summer days.
  22. I found this book called "OHIO: a picture book to remember her by" under my bed a while ago. I didn't even know we owned it! As I was looking through the short picture book, I found a small section featuring Kings Island back in the day! They are really cool pictures and I'd like to share them.
  23. My leather flipflops, or my brown Vans slip-ons. They are both very comfortable!
