  1. The whole area looks so awesome. It's amazing how different the area is from just under a year ago. I can't wait to be on Diamondback on April 18th. I just wanted to repost this video, to bring up just how different the area is, and how much has been done in just under a year.
  2. Cool! We'll have to set up a more specific meeting place as the date draws closer. Can't wait to meet some of you guys.
  3. Me too, how ironic. I'm sure they will walk the large mass crowd to Diamondback much like they did early in the season in 2007 for Firehawk. Anyone remember this? The weird thing was, they DIDN'T do that for Firehawk's opening day. I specifically remember running in a rather large stampede to get to Firehawk on it's opening day, and come to find out that it is broken down. Then after waiting 4-5 hours I was on the 4th train out on Firehawk, it was pretty exciting! However now, I don't even ride Firehawk, because it's too boring and short of a ride, and the loading time sucks on it. So why wait in line? The stampede to Firehawk was fun, yet dangerous, I even remember a few people who were running near me, tripping and falling down. Anyways, on Opening Day 2009, I will be there early in the morning to be one of the first non-auction winner riders. I am trying to get a KIC group together, so we can all wait in line for Diamondback together, and just have a good time! (See "Diamondback Opening Day meet up" thread in Kings Island subtopic) http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16866
  4. I love Son of Beast, it's one of the most thrilling and fun rides in the park. The only way I'd be willing to let Son of Beast go, is if Maverick got put in it's place .
  5. New Diamondback Blog Update!!!! There's also a picture of the T-Shirt on the actual blog http://www.kiDiamondback.com/public/latest/blog/
  6. I know a lot of people are planning to go to Kings Island on opening day to get on Diamondback. From what I've read in other threads, people are planning to be there around 8:00am-8:30am, a few people, even earlier! So I thought it would be fun if all the people who are planning to be at the park that early met up, and we could all wait in line together for Diamondback! We could all meet by the metal detectors, and wait for them to open up the park, so we can all wait for the rope to drop, and all wait in line together. I think this would be a fun oppurtunity for some fellow enthusiasts to get together to ride one of Kings Islands biggest rides together. We (myself and my sister "Ashers") plan to get there around 8:00am8:20ish. Possibly earlier, depending on what other people do. If anyone is interested please reply to the topic. Can't wait for opening Day!!!
  7. How many Diamondback "First Riders" are there again? I'm going straight to Diamondback on Opening day, I'll just be in line behind all the "First Rider"people. I am still excited that I will be able to say I rode one of Kings Islands (hopefully) best rides built, on it's first day of operation, open to the public!! I am so pumped for the beginning of this season, I have a feeling this will be one of Kings Islands best seasons. With all the new shows, special events, food, shops, and of course Diamondback; this will definately be an amazing season!
  8. I wonder why Don hasn't been snapping pictures of all the new queue work going on, like the sign, station, and whatever those white things are? . I guess he's probably busy with opening day just around the bend!
  9. You could always buy that special paper for your printer that allows you print things off, then iron the design to a shirt. Just go to walmart, target, or any other store where you can find a plain shirt, whether it be fitted or whatever, then just iron whatever design you printed off onto a shirt. That way you could make a fitted Beast shirt for your daughter and you can customize it to your liking. Also, I think you can buy the special paper at Staples, but i'm not sure. I'm sure you could find it online.
  10. Well since I do love The Beast so much, I guess that can count
  11. So nothing old will become new again?...
  12. When you play the WLWT video, is anyone else's video really choppy? Maybe it's just my computer.....
  13. since youre in the parking lot, have you seen a train go through yet?
  14. I emailed Don Helbig asking him a few questions, and here it is! So We are getting a "new" restaurant at Kings Island this season along with Diamondback!!
  15. I am sure we will get to see a test run soon, as long as we get to ride it come April, I don't HAVE to see a test run. Although it would be nice
  16. even though SB is getting old, I am glad it is staying. We don't need anymore empty, useless buildings back there. Laser tag building is closed, there is that one building that used to be a food stand, but is now closed. I am glad that there won't be another addition to the empty building list.
  17. I think Flight Deck would look cool with black supports, a white Spine, and bright blue rails. And the cars painted a sleek silver. Also, I wish the "something new again" would be a show returning to the train. Maybe not the same show that it used to have, but it could have a storyline still in the Pioneer/Old West type setting. They could fix up all the old buildings, and use real actors, and give the train a nice western, adventure-ish theme soundtrack. Just because people use the train for transportation to BB, doesn't mean they wouldn't enjoy a nice show along the way. Or they could paint The Racer red, white, and blue again.
  18. I hope the scheduled events for Sunday will be just as good as Saturday, if not better, because more thank likely I will only be able to make it Sunday. I can't wait for details!
  19. And the ones that didn't do quite so well, or very well at all for that matter were, Invertigo and Firehawk.
  20. Why would the exit need to go under the Lift Hill, when it's on the same side as the building they are turning into the gift shop?
  21. Thats what I figured. Kings Island should sell "Coaster Warrior Head Cams" that are specifically made to stay on your head during a rollercoaster. That way they could say only the "Coaster Warrior Head Cams" may be permitted to film while riding. Plus the park could make a few bucks selling them. I doubt something like that would happen though, because people would be to dumb to put them on right, and they would fly backwards and hit somebody. Or something along those lines, and you would most likely look like a fool wearing a head cam on a coaster lol.
  22. I know this doesn't have to do with cameras being brought on rides, but what are the rules on MP3 Players? I'd like to listen to the TRTR soundtrack while riding The Crypt. haha... which would be possible if MP3 Players are allowed on rides.
  23. I too loved recaR, and I was so angry when I hear they were turning it around. However by the middle of the season last year, I didn't even care anymore. It was so much fun to ride it when they were racing them. The ride ops also did an excellent job to pump up the riders to race, by having cheering contests, and stuff like that. I was never so excited to ride The Racer until last season. Although I miss recaR, I don't really mind that it's gone because of the massive improvement to The Racer ride experience.
  24. While looking in the TR section for CP Trip Reports, I found yours, and no one posted on it! So even though it's a little late, I still want to post in this thread. It sounds like you guys had an awesome time! It sucks that TTD was a little too much for your friend, but I guess some people need to have some kind of a limit. I have only been to Cedar Point twice. Once a few years ago, then last year me and my sister did a pay once visit twice trip, where we went to the park for 2 days. Your trip report brought back some fun memories, and I'm glad you guys had such a fun time. I cant wait to return to The Point!
