Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)

^^^Which one? It's only 8 trains for the auction correct? If so, then it shouldn't take more than an hour. I could be wrong though..... -
Congrats Violakat! Have an awesome time!
-
I just wanted to let everyone know that according to Kings Islands website under the "events" section, there is a new gold pass perk. "Bring a Friend Discount Days" and there are only two of those days, and one happens to be on May 10th, the second day of the event. The park may be packed that day, although it also may NOT be packed, due it being Mother's Day.....

Hey guys, Since Avatar is doing a more scheduled meet up for opening day, I figured I would let you guys refer to his topic instead of mine. He's a lot more organized than me, plus his topic shows everyone that is planning on going. We'll plan on being in line for ERT for Diamondback, and we'll have to see about the rest of Avatar's meet up plans! But anyway I figure if we're all planning on being there for ERT then we will probably see each other anyway! So I guess we'll see everyone Saturday, say hey if you see us at the park!

Notice the speakers on the lampost, maybe we'll be getting a new soundtrack for Rivertown this year. Also, along the lines of music back there, I really hope they play Maverick's soundtrack in line for Diamondback. Or at least something somewhat similar. I think Rivertown is going to look great this year. It was really starting to need some attention last year, and CF gave it to it!

I am not sure if anyone would know this, but... For the DB ERT on the 18th, will they just "sort" everyone out at the front gate. Those who have gold or platinum passes and are using them to get the ERT and those who just have regular admission tickets. Then allow the gold/platinum pass holders into the park to go to DB at 9:00am? That would make most sense to me... -
^ that draws the line between addicted and those who love it. An addict would never pick Graeters over Blue Icecream
-
Bue Icecream is amazing. Some people love it, some people hate it, I don't think there is an in between Anyways, you can get Blue Icecrean at the "blue icecream" place in Nick Universe, or you can get it at the "IceScream" place in Action Zone, the place by Delerium.
-
As the off-season comes to a close, I thought this would be a funny topic to make. Are you addicted to Kings Island's Blue Icecream? Do you crave it often? Do you have to get it almost every time you go to the park? If so, then you are addicted to blue icecream, and you're not alone

all 3 trains are out of the storage area, and testing may begin soon. Also, there is a large crowd outside the entrance of DB. -

Thats what I'm talking about! I'd much rather have a warm sunny, maybe partly cloudy, opening day at Kings Island than gloomy. As long as the park isn't PACKED I will be happy. I don't mind crowds, but when the line for Adventure Express is all the way out into the midway, the park just isn't that fun.... -
I agree. It is a small fun short coaster, that provides just enough thrills, to be an "in between" type coaster. The theming on it, although a lot of it doesn't work, is still great. The ride still tells a good story about being on a runaway mine train in the jungle. I hope Adventure Express is here to stay for a long time. I found the soundtrack to AE HERE
-
There are also jungle noises as you are leaving the station, when you are going around the few turns before the first tunnel
-
I would say the best way to gain respect around the KIC community is to NOT make tons of pointless posts. I find that people get more respect when they make more well thought out meaningful posts than not. (I'm not saying you can't joke around or post meaningless posts every one in a while just don't do it EVERY time you post) Make sure people can understand what you're saying, and use good grammar. But that's just what I think. P.S. I'm not talking to anyone specific, I'm just making a general post.

click on the picture, and look a little closer, it's definatley a light as far as I can tell. If you look close enough you can see a black pole on it, instead of one matching the roof. I think the "pole matching the roof" is an optical illusion.
-
That would be a lamp post, like the ones closer to the foreground of the picture.
-
Lol thats exactly what I was thinking. Adventure Express uses the terrain and woods to make it feel like a jungle, enclosing it would be like enclosing The Beast. If you want am airconditioned ride that the "adventure changes for a totally new experience" then go ride Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle the 10 year mark of 2012 is coming soon (If CF continues that tradition)
-
I was born in '92. The year a certain Phantom haunted an abandoned theater. I really do miss that ride.....

awesome pictures guys (and girls), they really "capture" the park

I think it could be just you Interpreter, because I can see all the pictures. I think that gazebo type structure was a Guess your age and weight game, but I'm not positive. -
Cool topic, here are mine awesome picture of the entrance area A nice picture of the fountains in the fall Oktoberfest Lake in the fall

No, there is something there. What is that buildng in pretty much the center of the picture, in the center of the path? The one with the new metal roof similar to the DB gift shop, and station. -
That is true. Well I for one am glad that the eyesore is gone, no matter what does, or doesn't, go in there.
-
Well, as TG mentioned in his original post, it was used for storage after laser tag closed. So they have to be removing it for something, because if not, why would they get rid of perfectly usable storage space? They could have just removed it becasue it is an eyesore, but who really paid attention to it anyway? So why would they remove it for looks, when the GP will probably never remember it being there.....

^It was actually a dew rag. lol
