Why not have another ride at another park in another state name a ride after TR:TR? Most of those park visitors will never visit PKI because of geography. Besides, we have 3 coasters at PKI with the name Beast. Additionally, several Paramount parks have rides named Reptar, Vortex, Top Gun, etc. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

The International Restaurant has been closed for quite some time. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

Wonderland is not the only non-Viacom theme park to use Viacom characters. Both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood offer Nickelodeon characters and rides. It's too bad that Wonderland will close. It's sad for Australia.

Holy Cow! The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island is being sold over a Czech Internet site. However, I HIGHLY doubt anyone in that nation will buy the book or visit PKI. http://books.musicabona.cz/catalog/History...3.html?session= Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

I will certainly visit Boomerang Bay this year, at least 2 times in spite of my soon to be fatherhood. However, I am not as excited about BB as I am about getting on The Beast, FoF, and my other favorite soft park rides. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Two senior citizens tried to copulate in public at PKI??? That'd make a great Viagra commercial.

Several rides, attractions, and eateries have been inspired by, or at least named after, Paramount movies. Which of the films that inspired PKI attractions is your favorite film?

If one wants privacy and an exotic atmosphere.....TR:TR is the place. However, I wouldn't advise anyone to try to copulate at PKI. Should you get caught, you and your partner will not only get ejected from the park....but you may get arrested for indecent exposure and lewd conduct in public. Have a great day, Italian Chef

Lately PKI is advertising that they will become more of a movie theme park. And Boomerang Bay, an Australian themed water park, will premier. Does anyone think that PKI will can an actor to dress up like Crocodile Dundee for the opening day of PKI? Additionally, does anyone think that there'll be props related to the Crocodile Dundee movies, such as posters, at Boomerang Bay? Just a thought. Have a great day! Crocodile Italian Chef :chef:

A Nickelodeon parade would be great and it would help enhance PKI's new theme as a movie park. Have a great day! Italian Chef

I voted for KC because the loop was really cool and I found the stand up element to be a novelty.

Closed Park Is A Beehive Of Activity
italianchef replied to Dan's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Good catch Brother Dan! I found that article yesterday but didn't have time to post it because I had to attend a 3-hour child birth class after work. By the time I got home, I was too tired to use the NET. I'm not in the least bit surprised to learn that PKI's marketing team visits other parks to compare, contrast, and get ideas. And I'm quite sure that the marketing teams of other parks make similar trips to PKI. However, I didn't know that the green houses were owned and used by PKI for its floral decorations. I think that's really cool. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef: -
I own copies of both the Brady Bunch and Partridge Family episodes at Kings Island. Both were good.....but I think that The Brady Bunch made a better show. First off, it did show more of the park than The Partridge Family. And secondly, the story line itself was less corny. Have a great day! Italian Chef

I wish that Festhaus still offered German food and live entertainment. Unfortunately, in spite of the large German-American population in Greater Cincinnati.....pizza and fast food sells better than German food. If I had my way, Festhaus at PKI would be like a mini Germany Pavillion at Epcot or like Festhaus at Busch Gardens.

Judging by PKI's latest commercial that we received in the surverys, I believe that PKI will try to become more like Universal Studios and Disney MGM Studios in both attractions and the way it markets itself. No other theme park in the midwest can say "ride the movies". Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

Having a coaster named Tomb Raider is nothing to brag about. What PKI has with TR:TR that makes it unique is props from the movie. The Rover automobile, the stone monkeys, and the Brahma were all used in the movie. Additionally, many other props were used as well. So PKI fans, don't be sad that someone else in the Paramount family is using the Tomb Raider name, we have the better ride at PKI. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

I voted for 6-10, which will historically my lowest number of annual visits EVER. Why so low???? My son is due to be born in late April. Hence, I can't go at all in April. And after he is born, I won't have as much free time as I did in previous years to visit PKI. I'll be there, but only about 25% as often as all other years. And Mrs. Chef will go too - but no more than 4 times. In future years, I'll be going way more often as my child gets bigger. On a side note, if I lived in Mason, I'd go there EVERY DAY, even with the baby. I love PKI and wish that I lived in the park. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

On Wednesday, 2/4/04, **** Von Hoene died at the age of 63 - apparently from a heart attack. Mr. Von Hoene's TV career began in the early 1960s as a TV broadcaster. He hosted a horror series on TV as the "Cool Ghool". And he was best known for hosting ICN6's Northern Kentucky Magazine with Tawana Thomas in Northern Kentucky. He worked the day he died, went shopping afterward, and passed away. Northern Kentucky Magazine was a great show that featured famous and not-so-famous celebrities from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati including Charles Infosino (me) for the Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island and Wera Vongbumru for Siam Orchid Thai Restaurant. In addition to my book, Northern Kentucky Magazine often discussed Paramount's Kings Island and its importance to our region. Mr. Von Hoene gave a voice to the voiceless and entertained hundreds of thousands on TV. He will surely be missed and my condolences go out to his family. Sincerely, Italian Chef aka Charles Infosino

I recently read that PKI will have a Nickelodeon parade this year. Does anyone have any details? For example, where will it be held? Who will the grand marshall be? Will there be any floats or just marchers? Which characters will be in the parade? Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
-
The parade could start in International Street, march through Hanna-Barbera Land, and end in Nickeloden Central.
-
Firt off, I think that a parade would be an AWESOME idea. I pitched it to Jeff Siebert in 2001. I said that PKI should have a parade that features H-B, Nickelodeon, and Star Trek characters. And the characters should march in their chronological order (start with Captain Caveman and the Flintstones and end with Star Trek and the Jetsons). As far as ONLY Disney doing parades.....that is a great misconception. Many Six Flags parks have parades, as does Lotte World in Korea and other parks. I think that a parade would greatly enhance PKI's family atmosphere. And if Janet Jackson plans to march and expose herself...........give me front row seats!!!!! Have a great day! Italian Chef

I voted for Zephyr because it makes me feel like I'm flying. Additionally, it's beautifully decorated. However, I also hold the other rides in high esteem, especially Flying Eagles. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

I miss the webcam too. If you couldn't be at PKI (especially in the off season), at least you were able to look at it on the Internet. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

As a general rule, I prefer roller coasters to flat rides. However, I prefer Delirium to King Cobra because: 1. I didn't enjoy KC as much as other roller coasters because stand-up coasters aren't my cup of tea. 2. I find Delirium to be exceptionally thrilling, almost as good as a roller coaster. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

Hollywood is full of starving actors and wanna-be-directors. I'm sure they won't have too much trouble finding willing employees. If not, I'll fax them my resume and they can hire me as director. *LOL* Seriously speaking folks, I did write, produce, direct, and star in a cooking show from 2002-2003 named HOME COOKING WITH CHARLES. That's why I call myself Italian Chef. Additionally, last year I wrote, directed, was prop master, and appeared in a TV special called Taste of Thailand. Hence, I really could direct a movie if I were a hero instead of a zero.
