  1. The staff of PKIC is most impressive. They are a group of wise, friendly, and ambitious young folk. Praise PKIC! The Holy Reverend Brother Doctor Italian Chef :pope:
  2. I love PKI too, so much so that I wrote the first book exclusively about it. However, as a person who keeps track of the amusement industry, one cannot ignore Disney's prominence and leadership. I would like to see PKI become more Disney-like.
  3. Disney is blessed with Pirates of the Caribbean, an indoor, dark boat ride with animatronics. Should PKI attempt something similar? If so what? Pirates? Mark Twain? What?
  4. That would make an awesome 11th song. Plus we can add music from Drop Zone, Forrest Gump, The Jetsons, and Hey Arnold. Have a groovy day! Italian Chef :guitar:
  5. PKI is first and foremost a business. If revenues don't exceed expenditures, PKI will cease to exist. So, let's be understanding. Have a groovy day! Italian Chef :chef:
  6. Sorry about that. I expected 3 or 4 volunters and got 13. I wanted to highlight everyone's individual qualities. Perhaps you'll like my next story, Viking Fury, better. It is ONLY 3-pages long. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, Pirate of the Ohio River Italian Chef :medieval:
  7. Disney has a CD of some hit songs from its theme parks, why shouldn't PKI have one too? Here are the top 10 songs to go on a PKI soundtrack based on its rides and attractions: 10. The Theme to The Flinstones. 9. The theme to The Wild Thornberrys. 8. The theme to The Rugrats. 7. Scooby Doo Where Are You? 6.A song from Days of Face/Off. 5. A song from Congo. 4. A song from Days of Thunder. 3. The Top Gun song "Take my Breath Away" 2. A song from Lara Croft Tomb Raider. 1. A unique PKI composed song.
  8. At a water park I'd love to here "Yo Ho, A Pirates life for me" but that is reserved by Disney.
  9. I just finished my 4th piece of PKI-inspired fiction tonight. It should be up soon. The name of it is VIKING FURY and it is inspired by Viking Fury at Oktoberfest and the film Pirates of the Caribbean. Though PKIC on Mars describes 14 people on PKIC, I fear that many people will complain that the story is too detailed and too lengthy. Nevertheless, for those of you who volunteered for the PKIC on Mars story, I sure hope you will read it. Hence, Viking Fury is a very short story at only 3 pages. Nevetheless, I researched Norweigan and Caribbean history to make the story as accurate as possible. I hope that you will read and enjoy VIKING FURY. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Italian Chef :medieval:
  10. The thought of going down water slides to the tune of "Let's get physical" or "How deep is your love" is most funny.
  11. Tropical music for an Australian theme park? Not too likely if PKI wants to be authentic. I think they'll pretty much keep the same music they have now. Or perhaps add some Australian hits from Auzzie singers like Olivia Newton John and the Bee Gees.
  12. Good points. PKI does have more resources than The Beach - and if the park managers REALLY want to return it....they can with little effort. I guess we'll have to see what happens next year.
  13. Please allow me to take one moment of your time to wish you a very Merry Christmas. I hope that you are healthy, financially stable, and happy. On this day that we celebrate the birth of our savior, may your heart be filled with joy and hope for a better tomorrow. Though we cannot visit enjoy PKI this time of year, I hope that your thoughts and memories of PKI warm your heart. May you have a very Merry, Safe, and Blessed Christmas! Sincerely, Charles Infosino aka Italian Chef
  14. In my humble opinion, WinterFest won't return anytime soon. 1. On 11/2 Mr. Siebert told enthusiasts that KI used to close for the season in September....which have them plenty of time to prepare. Now that PKI stays open until the first weekend of November....I don't think they would have the time to prepare. 2. When Kings Island opened for WinterFest, there were not many holiday alternatives. Nowadays folks can go to Holiday Fest at The Beach across on I-71, Exit 25, The Cincinnati Zoo, and a ton of places including the Mall to see Santa Claus. With so much competition, I doubt that WinterFest would be very profitable. 3. During the time period of WinterFest, there was plenty of seasonal labor in Greater Cincinnati. Nowadays, PKI would have to compete with malls, fast food joints, and other establishments that offer longer term employment than the month of December. Plus............students who make the bulk of these laborers are usually studying for final exams in December. This is just my opinion - and if I'm wrong...sorry. I'd be happy to see WinterFest return...but doubt it will. Merry Christmas! Italian Chef :chef:
  15. I don't think that PKI would give a discount to locals because compared to other parks, locals seem to make a dis-proportionately high percentage of the visitors. SFMM is in California.....which attracts MANY tourists from other states and even nations. PKI is located in southern Ohio, which isn't a hot destination for vacation. Should PKI give a discount to locals, I think they'd lose some serious money. That's my opinion anyway. Merry Christmas! Italian Chef :chef:
  16. Thank you for posting the Top 50. It was most interesting. I think that PKI had a good year, in spite of lousy weather, because Scooby Doo & the Haunted Mansion drew in families and Delirium drew in thrill seekers. I could be wrong, but I think that Delirium exceeded people's expectations, whereas TR:TR didn't quite meet them. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
  17. I think the SPAM section is awesome. Nearly 100% of the people who log on this site love PKI.....but there is more to life than PKI. Having the SPAM section helps people relax, communicate, laugh, and develop communication skills. Please do NOT do away with it. If SPAM is gone........where can we play word games? Where will I be able to post about the birth of my son next year? You guys are doing great...please leave SPAM. Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  18. We all hope for the best. However, please keep in mind that PKI is a business with limited resources in the middle of a not so awesome economy. In spite of the rosy numbers that have been released lately...it's a "jobless recovery" with record deficits, ballooning debt, and jobs are going overseas fast. We are lucky to have a great park such as PKI so close to us in spite of the macro-economic woos of the day. PRAISE PKI! The Holy Reverend Brother Doctor Italian Chef :pope:
  19. Thank you for the information. As a fellow journalist, I am greatly impressed with your collection of data. Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:
  20. I've noticed that PKI usually releases their annual attendance numbers to The Cincinnati Enquirer (and I'm sure MANY other media outlets) every March. We'll have to wait until next year to find out how PKI fared this year.
  21. This much I can tell you....no less than 3 million visitors. Specifics will have to wait until next year.
  22. PKIC currently has 3 fictional stories - and more will surely follow. Of those 3, which one is your favorite and why?
  23. Yours truly the Italian Chef has been asked to bake a large birthday cake for The Beast. Unfortunately, he is diabetic, lactose intolerant, allergic to chocolate and eggs, and has high cholesterol. Hence, I have to make a tofu birthday cake for The Beast. Have a great day! Italian Chef
  24. On 11/2/04 Jeff Siebert told a group of enthusiasts that the Kings Island season used to end in September because of weather conditions, which gave the park plenty of time to prepare for WinterFest. Now that the park stays open until the first weekend of November (global warming???) and there is FEARFEST...WinterFest is no longer celebrated. Can Winter Fest be returned? Maybe, however I doubt it because: 1. It would give the park less than 1 month to prepare. 2. A seasonal labor shortage during a time when students are preparing for final exams. 3. With Holiday Fest at The Beach and celebrations elsewhere (including Santa Claus at MANY malls), it probably wouldn't be profitable enough to justify the expenditures. But hey, I'm an outside. Maybe the park is planning to bring back WinterFest and has devised a cost effective way to do it. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef
  25. If I win, I'll keep the shirt and donate its cost to PKIC. The chairman and president donate their time, money, and souls into this awesome place on the web. They deserve all the help they can get.
