Sadly, I can't forsee an RMC anytime in the future (and I was team RMC for Mystic Timbers.) The fact is that with the addition of our 2017 coaster, our wood lineup is a record-holding legend in Beast, an EXTREMELY iconic classic in Racer, and now a (hopefully) amazing GCI in Mystic Timbers. It would be awesome and I always want more RMC everywhere, but with KK, Dollywood, and the obvious Mean Streak conversion only a few hours away in any direction, not sure if they'd be willing to install another so close to their own competition. An Intamin Blitz would be great though, even with Maverick so close by its still pretty unique and within the same chain, so following my RMC logic it's still perfectly acceptable. I was crossing my fingers for one back when they cleared out the lake for Diamondback...would've been a perfect fit for that area. Also, I refuse to let Vortex go anywhere any time soon. I don't care about how old it gets, or that it's harder to get parts etc now, Vortex is my baby and I must protect it. Anyways, back on topic. I'd love to see them reuse the station for SoB since it already has a decent sized queu for an area otherwise only used as a Haunt. I could see it turning out of station and head towards the X Base area, where they have plenty of room for expansion (and possibly a low to the ground finale interacting with The Bat/Banshee/Express area.) As for manufacturer, as a HUGE fan of Intimidator 305 (fave steel) and a lesser extent Millenium Force (its neat, but overshadowed by the park's amazing lineup), I would love an Intamin, but I understand company issues forcing it be B&M (still havent ridden either of those gigas to compare to the Intamin duo)

Awesome look back at the park's history. My first visit to the park was back when they had the Safari ride, so I was raised on both the antique cars, King Cobra (which I will still claim wasn't that bad as a TOGO) and the single rail suspended coaster in Hanna Barbara, but never got to see the Demon or any of those older rides....

For most major attractions you have to be 18 to operate a drive panel. This isn't the case for most smaller flat rides like Scrambler/Dodgems/Zephyr/Planet Snoopy etc, but in general for most of the big stuff you have to have that white 18+tag to drive. Luckily for me as a major my entire time there, I was able to operate Monster (one of the most complicated rides to master actually) and WindSeeker my first season at each crew (and Vortex my last year which was basically my dream come true)
-
Congrats! Welcome to my old crew (and obviously the best crew in the park). Both WindSeeker and Vortex are super chill once you get the hang of things, just remember to bring sunglasses since you'll be staring up ALOT working WindSeeker...

Your in for quite a pleasant suprise. Every GCI I've been on (American Thunder, Lightning Racer, Roar SFA, Thunderhead, Wildcat Hershey) has been a top 20 worthy, or atleast EXTREMELY reridably wooden experience. I literally spend hours at a time every time I go to Dollywood JUST marathoning Thunderhead alone. Needless to say, I have some pretty high hopes for our newest addition...GCI is easily my favorite wood company (not counting RMC because RMC is life)

Haven't seen anyone post this yet, found it on my Facebook feed yesterday. This thing looks beautiful.

I can see that now that we have Banshee with a misty area in the plaza, but its still nice to have a water ride on that side of the park for hot days since its so far from everything else. Have fun moving all those dinos now that we have MT in that area too, but I'm down. One of my favorite things about the version at CP is how its all over the Millenium Force area, which leads to some really cool interactions between the 2. The location right now is perfect and secluded, but imagine dinos in the woods, surrounded by MT/Train/WWC... YES! I don't know how many times I've said this, but there needs to be a bathroom, and maybe some flat rides in X Base. It's too bottlenecked from the rest of the area, and the seclusion of 2 coasters with huge lines far from any restroom is just horrid. Also, WindSeeker has a much bigger footprint, so it can stay where it is, but flyers would look nice on the Flight Commander pad

I still haven't seen it yet, but thats partially just my lazyness to schedule time to watch shows...

with it being my coaster twin and the ride I worked at for my 3 seasons at KI, Vortex is ALWAYS my first ride of the year. Always.
-
Sounds about the range I was thinking. The park definitely has the room for something larger since Racer was based on Shooting Star, so it's mainly the fact that this unloved location doesn't make the revenue for such a large scale thrill ride. Even going so large as to rebuild Tornado would be perfect. I swear I go to Strickers every year just to marathon that thing...
-
That is a good point. I hadn't even been paying attention to the Banshee cam, but that Definately looks like footers or storage for something.

Never! Not-so-Pepsi Python was my baby back when I worked there, so I can't stand to see it go. Capacity may have been crap with 2 6-passenger trains and a very late-course block to clear, but its still a pretty unique model that there aren't too many left of (different manufacturer and model, not exactly the Galaxi model some of it's counterparts are based on). The park has plenty of room for a 2nd coaster, and I think that will really boost Coney's appeal to have a second key attraction. I'd say Wild Mouse variant or the like or a wooden coaster, because that fits the general image the park already has, and there is plenty of room to expand thanks to all the land not used for events or attractions.

Let alone staffing it during the summer in general. Can't tell you how many times the last few summer's I've had to lend a hand since all our potential lifeguards are also split between KI and the Beach lol.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Drummer. Great experience, unfortunately bad pay, but if you're willing to stick with it, its one of the best jobs of your life. Literally the only reason I left was lack of a full time position and needing to get a "real" job, but I'll drop everything the second a serious opportunity to get back in presents itself. Also, welcome to KIC! Awesome to see your gonna be on the MT crew, hopefully I'll see you alot this season since I'll probably do quite a bit marathoning if this thing iss gonna be as half as all the other GCI's I've been on...
-
^^Same. Hope to see you at Coasterstock this year! (Or on my likely many many MT laps if this season is gonna be anything like Banshee was when it opened)

Im still on board for a small-medium wooden coaster or some variant of a Wild Mouse/Bigger portable coaster...maybe something like a Gerstlaur? I think I also brought this up in previous prediction posts, but if Coney could even spruce up some of its flats like Knoebels, that would be amazing. I'm talking stuff like enclose the Scrambler with fog machine/disco ball/music etc. Its an easy enough upgrade, and does wonders to the ride experience...Also, now that they seem like more of a common attraction, can we get some flyers please?
-
Typically 9-4 or 4-close, with a 12-8 swing shift that does breaks. Since I spent most of my time in Coney Mall, I'm gonna recommend that, but its all preference I suppose.

Good luck, Vortex!

I'll third that then. Having ridden all 4, I'll say T-Bird is just an overall fun and reridable ride, just like Gatekeeper. I think Bird just gets the edge though for its placement and the launch being pretty refreshing, but Gatekeeper is one of those rides I can just reride for a while when entering or leaving CP. As for the other 2, Wild Eagle looks nice but those restraints were so uncomfortable I literally left the Banshee announcement as soon as I saw they would be featured on our invert...so glad they fixed those, but with Eagle could get the upgrade. Sameish for X-Flight, but it was an okay ride I guess...wasn't blown away or overly impressed, but it was enjoyable.

Irratator 305. I've wanted this ever since I read the dinosaur at the front's name.
-
Since I was on team RMC for the MT announcement, I've gotta say that (not that I'm disapointed my other favorite wood designers in GCI are heading the project or anything). Other than that, I've been wanting something like Maverick since they started speculating Diamondback (wouldve been a perfect fit for that lake area back when we didnt know much), or maybe even a Mack laucher since Intamin has been Intamin lately. Otherwise, the park has a pretty solid lineup, minus some niches like a 90+degree drop, or some sort of Wild Mouse/Gerstlauer (I'll never spell this amazing company right) variant.
-
I really hope Tom+Chee comes back next year and is on the meal plan. I was super pumped when I saw them take over the last few weekends of the season, and could use some more versitality to my meals at the park since I always get the meal plan on my pass...

1. Awesome. In my experience, its all about interacting with guests and being closer to your favorite attractions, so if your a people person or ever wanted to be that Speiler, its a great opportunity. Minimum wage seasonal is kind of unfortunate, but realistically you see that at any job in this industry. 2. 15 for games and mascots I think? I've always been a ride op where its minimum age of 16... 3. Depends. I transfered from Coney Island mid season so I only had a few options of train and Monster/Scrambler/Dodgems (which was suprisingly fun and I got to help out at other rides alot), but the following seasons I was able to transfer to Vortex no problem... 4. Likely still minimum wage unless things have changed over the last few years, but you get hours so it adds up. 5. As long as its not a single operator flat ride, yes. Theres a bunch of opening procedures, and one is to test ride, so just to to volunteer whenever you can... 6. I would. Basically the only reason I left was there was no opportunity for me to find a full time position once I was done with college years, so I went next door to Great Wolf to run one of the attractions there...Working as a ride operator in the amusement park I grew up in was a dream come true for an enthusiast like me, so as long as you dont mind handling the occasional protein spill or dealing with your attraction breaking down I'd go for it....

The clearance just looks so decieving for the shed/station area. I understand that this station building looks to be a good 2 stories tall based on perspective and the workers, but it just "feels" so low compared to the grand sized shed from the renderings. I'm sure it'll be fine as we already adressed...just feels way too low. As for the shed itself, I'm on board for a multi-scene Verbolten-esque sequence with an open floor for the train to pass through. Can make the experience very immersive and having multiple sections of the shed each with several sequences will make the changing ending very reridable....Perhaps a section of track (likely a block brake) won't drop perse, but could have some motion to it to make the scenes more 4-dimensional? I'm talking like a simulator attraction with just a bit of back and forth or something....
