How Old Were You When You First Visited Kings Island?
faeriewench replied to LongliveKingsCobra's topic in KI Polls
I didn't vote since my age wasn't featured. I was an infant the first time I visited KI =P But growing up KI was a once a year thing while the rest of the summer was spent at Cedar Point and SeaWorld Ohio. Now its the other way around.. -
KI, only because I have little to no memory of Holiday World (I was a kid...) But I love Dollywood and SeaWorld Orlando better than KI =P

Could Busch Parks Be in Play?
faeriewench replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
This message was left blank till an actual confirmnation is found. -
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom - lethargic animals, including Shouka who refuses to perform more than usual and shows agression to her trainers when they enter the water with her. No water works for her....when she used to do them in Marineland France. Six Flags Magic Mountain - rough rides, and the climate there is horrid that time of year.

Could Busch Parks Be in Play?

eh? If a sale happens, how would the construction for Worlds of Discovery in Dubai be affected? :S -
Ok Mark has done that, why not dedicate some money to the living conditons of the animals in the Discovery Kingdom park then? Alot of those facilites are disgusting, makes the Miami Seaquarium look like heaven having Tokitae the killer whale in a swimming pool, at least she is swimming around in clean water. Look at Shouka's at SFDK http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/8564/shoukakh4.jpg That's a good picture, despite the algea. Now at times you cant even see her cause the algea covers her viewing glass. Lots of dirt, some food, and some other really gross things. The bottom of the other two resting tanks are very gross where she is kept at. All of the observation glass of just about every animal facility is clouded up with water stains, hand/finger prints, and more stuff. Employees have the time to clean everything in the park, like the glass but i guess its not really assigned to anybody specifically, so nobody does anything about it. Theres cob/spider webs in just about every corner of the park, Is it so hard to clean them?

4th of July can be/is usually a nightmare although I remember on 4th of July a few years back I was at CP and it was freezing rain. Dead park. Love lake erie weather. I'm not going to CP till August -
Vortex seatbelts are still the same as last year...you rode it fine with me last year so shouldn't be a problem this year

This has kept me amused for awhile now. Orkid, a very dominant female orca in the San Diego park took a birdy down in the middle of the show. I wonder what the trainers' little pow-wow was about. what IS there to discuss? Trainer 1: So, the, uh, "killer whale" hunted down a bird and like, ate it and stuff? Trainer 2: Yup...yep... Trainer 3: *Zzzzzzz* Trainer 4: So...sammiches? Trainer 5: Oh, Hell yes! Seriously, though the one thing that disappoints me most, the trainers missed a great chance to educate the public about the killer whales and their hunting tactics. Because what Orkid and her buddies just displayed there was a natural bahviour. Instead...the crowd was left to go gasp and omg. I have pics here of the dominant female herself at the park doing bird hunting between shows. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/chop...603230573_l.jpg And here she is again, this time assisted by her daughter http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d34/chop...grouporca61.jpg

I believe it was WCPO 9 that were with Don on account their van was parked next to the big sign and also a recap of Don was on their news that evening when I got home. I enjoyed my time at the park yesterday...Hung out a bit before and after work and saw 2 KICers being kwindshawne and Aaron (PKIVortex). Appearently mr Uncle Henry saw me, but didn't say hello so his loss

Those "kitty cats" don't necessarily purr and meow. 3 guys in San Francisco tried to hug and pet a "kitty cat" like one of those in the pics. The result was not exactly what they expected. Actually they can "purr". It's not noticeable cause it's a pretty deep rapsy like sound. But I have heard them myself thanks to a tiger in a exotic animal rescue in Florida my cousin volunteers at. Cheetah's can also chirp, which I always found cute/funny. I have pet bobcats and I have heard them purr before as well. Great pics Dane! My fave has to be the polar bear

Are you sure? The website says nothing about it. http://www.wonderparkusa.com/main.asp WCPO announced it couple hours ago on TV. Appearently several parents arent happy with its closure.... I didn't pay attention to who they quoted, but they said it closed because "lease was up, and it wasn't making the money" ¬_¬;;

Worlds of Discovery

Guess it depends on the types of currents. For certain, whatever micro or macro ecosystem that existed where the islands now stand is altered or destroyed. And that earth used to build the island had to come from somewhere.
