BoddaH1994 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
You never think of hockey having cheerleaders, but I went to an Indiana Ice game a few months ago and they did. It make the experience kind of different. -

I wonder how their marketing campaign would work for that: "New for 200X! An Intamin -- And It Works!!!"

Will Bubba Gump's Name Change? Now Confirmed
BoddaH1994 replied to coaster_junky's topic in Kings Island
You're exactly right. Even if someone who knew everything about what KI was going to add over the next 10 years posted every bit of knowledge they had, they'd end up being wrong 80% of the time or more simply because everything is just a concept until it opens. -
Congrats on the job! Where was the convention held?
-
Couple of things: After the many many incidents that CP has had with Intamin, their obsession may not last much longer. Of course, it is a business and they do understand that if they expect rides to be innovative, they're certainly not going to be perfect. If KI were to get an Intamin, I'd want it to be their giga.

Will Bubba Gump's Name Change? Now Confirmed
BoddaH1994 replied to coaster_junky's topic in Kings Island
I think Don put it best at Winter Soar in saying that most decisions depend on, "who you ask and what day it happens to be." It may be Bubba Gumps this year, it may not. Maybe at the time they called you they thought it wouldn't be, but have changed their mind since... it's really that dynamic. -
It certainly was a fun event! From the KI front: Cinnabun is confirmed, Racer is not decided yet, 6 shows this year (2 in Festhaus)

Unfortunately when you plan on hiring 4,000 seasonals, things certainly get mixed up...

It was the JDRF Walk for a Cure.

In 06 Dane and I got booed when we won door prizes. I thought it was funny.

Winter SOAR is a great time. This will be about my 5th year attending. I recommend it to anyone who's free Saturday night but it's a great way to learn the latest and greatest info about some of your favorite parks as well as make some new friends. Confirmed for the event are Don Helbig from Kings Island and Tony Clark from Cedar Point who will be on hand to talk about their parks and answer any questions you may have. See you there, Ryan

Fix the themeing in Flight of Fear, Adventure Express, and make the Crypt work consistently!
-
It's our sister park. How could we have anything against Cedar Point?
-
I'm in no way saying that people shouldn't spend money in the park. That's not going to help anyone at all. All I'm saying is that I work hard for my money and I know that you do too and if someone is going to take it, they will give me a quality product.
-
The food prices are ridiculously high at Kings Island... I can live with that... it's part of the game. I am however getting really tired of hearing excuses as to why their food is so low quality that it's barely eatable. Even places that I particularly liked, like Happy Days, dipped off to the point where I wasn't even tempted by midway through the season. Being "that guy from KIC" I always felt as though it has been a responsibility of mine to support the park while I'm there. So I've always made it a responsibility of mine to play the games, eat the food, etc. while at the park in order to set an example. Unless there's a marked change, and quick, I'll be joining the growing number of people eating out of a cooler in the parking lot.

It's a music festival held at the Timberwolf Theatre at Kings Island every year highlighting some of the best Christian musical acts out today. It's typically a 3 day affair.
