The TV advertisements are going to be interesting next year without having to focus on a new ride.

"Thrill seekers would pay a few dollars to zip along the Big Dipper's half-mile of up-and-down fun. The money would go to preserve the attraction and keep it rolling. A few smaller rides could be added to expand upon the theme." Why not just rebuild Geauga Lake? Lofty concept, but unlikely.

Don't forget that we're in a different boat here. The Cedar Fair people are park people. They do what they can to improve the guest's experience. I can see that mentality under Paramount, but I really think that CF would do it just if they thought it was a good idea rather than only installing it if they feel as though they can make a good basis for a TV commercial out of it.

Sounds like a game of "let's see what happens."

This is a definite 'cup of tea' question, but why do you visit Kings Island (time and time again in some cases)? For me, it's a combination of all of the above.

"Thinking" is a relative term. A lot of people like to point the finger about the whole Flying Eagles situation, but it was totally a corporate decision. I can assure you that EVERYONE at Kings Island fought VERY hard to keep both the Eagles and the Tiques, but ultimately their higher-ups called the shots.

Different markets dictate different things. What happens in Cincinnati doesn't necessarily have to happen in Sandusky or Charlotte.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 7, 2007 Kings Island To Hold Auditions For 2008 Entertainment Season November 8-11 At The Park Kings Island, Ohio – Kings Island will hold auditions in search of trained, talented and versatile actors, singers, dancers, variety artists, characters, character cohorts, musicians, theatre attendants, technicians, costumers, stage managers and supervisors for the 2008 entertainment season at the park Thursday, November 8 through Sunday, November 11. Interested performers should prepare the following: Singers: Prepare at least one up-tempo and one ballad in a pop style. Singers may not sing a cappella; an accompanist will be provided. Singers should bring sheet music in the proper key or prerecorded instrumental tracks (without lead vocal) on CD. Singers may be asked to read a brief monologue and to dance, so they should bring appropriate clothes and shoes for movement. Singers need to bring a current photo and a one-page resume. Dancers: Kings Island is looking for energetic, technically trained dancers experienced in jazz, ballet, hip-hop and acrobatics for an exciting new production. Dancers will be taught a combination during the audition. If dancers sing, they should bring music as specified above. Dances should come prepared in comfortable and appropriate clothing and shoes. I do agree that Paramount added some great rides and did some great things for the park. Unfortunately, by 2006, the best thing that could have ever happened to Kings Island did happen: it was sold. Let's face it, the last few years ago Kings Island were terrible. Paramount divesting the parks was writing on the wall. I LOVED the idea of having a Disney-like park in Cincinnati, but it never ended up being that way and likely never would have ended up that way. It comes down to this: you can love or hate the current ownership, but you do have to admit that they're park people. They're not going to hold onto Kings Island and flip it in 5 years. They want/need it to be successful.
