  2. So basically No One will get them until the weekend. If they open at 10 and close at 4 that is bankers hours and people with jobs will have no time till the weekend. Why not do it from 4 - 8 PM. I am sure they would get a lot more people then. They're trying to be nice to you guys.......
  3. How... uh.... yeah... I'll say it. How the heck do you loose a wrist watch??
  4. Actually, I think the pricing all year has been by the 1/4lb.
  5. I went to Halloweekends on their first Saturday of operation. I like Cedar Point, but I think Halloween Haunt is a much better event. We waited for about 3 hours for Maverick including a bit of downtime.
  6. Maybe it's Kings Island's new way of making a promise and over-delivering.
  7. It was impressive tonight. Walk ons for almost everything, yet there were clearly people in the park. I think it'll continue.
  8. We have a lot of former employees from that era come and go from the forums. Sit tight, someone will come forward!
  9. I saw strollers parked outside of Dead Awakening last Saturday. I found that a little odd. The problem is that when Paramount did Fear Fest, they also said it was inappropriate for children, but didn't cross the line nearly as much as they do now. Now, people take the "adult oriented" warning lightly despite the fact that we're in Cedar Fair's barn now.
  10. The answer to this is quite simple. No. There is no communication between departments. That's why information posted on here that supposedly came from the PR department about what the admissions department is doing is laughable. I'll say that again...it's laughable. No disrespect to any particular individual, of course. And I'll admit that my previous post in this topic was completely condescending. I didn't feel the need to slam anyone and I still don't. Nobody knows as much about the problem and the solution as I do. Trust me, I'm the most arrogant son of a ***** you will ever meet when it comes to how to solve the problem of my former department, and I'll always be the first to admit that. I know exactly what needs to be done. I know exactly how to fix the problem. But the main thing is that I know exactly what the problem is. There is a total lack of communication... not just between the departments, which by no means is a small problem, but also a lack of communication between managers, supervisors, and associates in Admissions alone. I can tell you that we had meetings every morning when I worked there. For someone to suggest that those meetings have stopped? That's one hell of an accusation. But it would be far worse, and it would look extremely bad for the department, if it was true. The right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing. And it's creating a lot of headache. But Cedar Fair might not see this as a big problem. People are ****ed off? Who cares. Is it really losing us THAT much money? And to be honest with you, I could kind of see their point. Why fix it if it's not broken? Why do anything about it if it's not losing us money? Just because a business doesn't run smoothly doesn't mean a business can't prosper. But eventually it all comes full circle and you're left with the mess that is the Admissions department. I would say that I don't think it could get any worse. Oh, but it can. Yes, I have been employed by Kings Island. But the checks always came from Paramount, not Cedar Fair. I have no loyalties whatsoever anymore. I find it really interesting that THIS is what Cedar Fair has done in its first year to a department that needed a little work before, but now needs a complete overhaul. May God have mercy on whatever soul is in charge of bringing some stability to it. But you know in a way... I would have no problem if that soul happened to be myself. I've already established that I'm a little arrogant about it. But I can gurantee that it's arrogance born out of passion. I understand how things work there. I understand their computer system that they use (and technically, that is my college major.) I would challenge anyone claiming to have a bigger passion for change to the department than I do. The problem is, I don't know if anyone really wants to listen to me or hear about the major problems that currently exist. No communication between admissions and PR? No, that wasn't the problem. All of the employees were informed of the deals. Unfortunately, most employees working admissions are brand new, and it's hard to learn a new job, let alone memorize or try to decipher special deals like this. Like I told you before, the girl at the window tried to tell me the offer wasn't valid, then told me it was only good for 2008 passes. I KINDLY asked her to get her supervisor, who was well informed of the deals. Everything went smoothly from there. Was it a bit of a hassle? Sure. But I don't expect anyone to be perfect. It really took less than a minute to purchase the tickets.
  11. ^ Excellent point. DRESS WARM!!!!! I was deceived into thinking it wasn't "that cold" on Sunday and ended up leaving the park early because I couldn't take the cold. Don't forget that 50 degree weather is rather cold at 60mph!!!
  12. Wouldn't this whole deal be on the same page as any youth group? As in, parents can send their children there knowing that they will have positive influences.
  13. Kings Island will be open for 2008 season pass sales and Cedar Fair VIP jacket distribution Monday, November 5 through Sunday, November 11 from 10am to 4pm.
  14. Sunday had a respectable crowd. Certainly wasn't busy at all, but not bad for a cold Sunday night that's a school night.
  15. Kings Island is well aware of the "final Beast ride" tradition. Unfortunately, the fine folks who run The Beast are being asked to work until midnight (or later) five nights in a row, so this year it just simply wasn't a viable option. In the past, the park has closed on some very busy Sundays, so it wasn't uncommon for people to have a little trouble getting the final rides in, but that shouldn't be the case this year. If you want to get some final rides it, riding between 11pm and 12am shouldn't be much of a problem on Wednesday. Also don't forget that there are a few special showings of Dead Awakening on Wednesday at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00, so if you haven't gotten to catch the show yet, this is your last chance.
  16. Most of the above comments are true. The park has an absolutely terrible layout which consists of a lot of bottlenecks and even more walking. They have a few good rides. I really like Grease Lightnin'. Can't say I care all that much for Chang. I also can't stand T2. It beats me up. In their defense, there are a lot of outside factors as to why they have layout issues, but I'm not going to get into that. It's worth a visit once a year, I'd say.
  17. I'm apart of the music ministry. But as far as being a payed staff person, no I'm not. I'm a faithful member. Why do you ask? -just curious! I was just curious. I noticed how you registered on the forums right when this topic went up so I thought maybe you were a full time member of the clergy or something.
  18. Make sure that you read the press releases that a post on here closely, they come directly from the park. If anyone gives you conflicting information, kindly ask for a manager. They should be well informed. Kings Island does whatever it can to keep things consistent, but they're not perfect.
  19. Ashley, Do you have a particular position within the church or are you just a member? Ryan
  20. Oddly it was. It's not on the list to be open for Bare Bones, so don't assume it is. They probably just talked enough of the crew into staying. It was just too cold to ride it.
  21. Visit the park tonight. It was very VERY cold, but still fun as always. Rides: Delirium: 10 minute wait Flight of Fear: Walk On Firehawk: 1/2 hour Italiam Job: Walk On The Beast: Walk On If you guys are looking to get your last haunts and rides in, remember the park is open from 7pm until 12am Monday through Wednesday. The lines aren't bad at all and you can still catch some of your favorite haunts. Special discounts are available at pki.com/haunt.
