  1. To clarify what my “over the age of 28” comment meant since some have asked: That was an arbitrary age I figure you’d have to be to remember the ride well enough to have nostalgia for it as a ride and not just a legend.
  2. These twins say what everyone over 28 is thinking. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2022/july/identical-twins-share-phantom-theater-bond Great article!!
  3. I’m going to buy one. You can borrow it and 3D scan it with your iPhone and try to print it. That would be a cool project!
  4. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!! https://www.kingsislandgear.com/collections/new-apparel/products/pre-order-limited-edition-50th-anniversary-gold-eiffel-tower-figure
  5. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2021/july/take-a-spin-on-the-grand-carousel-on-national-carousel-day?utm_source=park_facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=national_carousel_day_blog&utm_id=22SAS&fbclid=IwAR2xXSLJ1iqsGtYAP-VpaUR_ugW__-hhpgrmKEzOY-T-iqXiJ3kY0bF4Hu8&mibextid=FrZHod&fs=e&s=cl Great blog! With parks like Kings Island basically their own news outlet, and the fan and enthusiast sites on top of what’s going on, has the days of the media being necessary for us to get park news over?

  6. I believe that GCI pitched Titan Track as an improvement over the current state of Wildcat, but it would still be the same Wildcat. They selected RMC (presumably) because they want a “new” ride. That’s how I’m interpreting this story. I do not believe that the layout would have changed with Titan Track.
  7. Should be every night, simply to avoid confusion. I believe Knott’s is the first Cedar Fair domino to fall. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see more with the start of next season, or even at Haunt this year. What are your thoughts on these policies? Do they actually improve safety? Do they hurt the business?
  8. According to Reddit, the idea for Titan Track was pitched but Hershey rejected it.
  9. I wonder if they can use old IPs (I imagine not). I’d love to see the OG Green Slime Zone with the erupting tower.
  10. @Shaggy I didn’t even think of the eagles! Here are some of mine: 1. All other sections of the park (I assume that’s coming) 2. Timberwolf (make it look like a concert poster) 3. KI Theater 4. Fun, Fireworks & Fifty / 50th celebration 5. Haunt / WF Another direction I feel like they could go is to make faux-advertisement posters. Like: 1. Come see the Flying Wallendas 2. Kings Island opening Spring 1972 3. Plan your vacation to Rivertown etc
  11. Looks like the first stone finally got engraved.
  12. Firehawk Fries at Meteor Canteen. It’s their thick chips / thin fries (somewhere in between) covered with sausage and fajitas and then lathered with beer cheese. Only $7-something with the gold pass discount. I know the photo makes it look like fries covered in gravy but it was actually very good.
  13. With the release of the latest Made To Thrill being posted today, it has shown that they aren’t afraid to make posters from the common to the obscure, the modern to the classics. I had a fun thought experiment with some friends and wanted to expand if onto here. What are some obscure park items, events, rides, landmarks, etc that you would like to see made into Made to Thrill posters?
  14. One of several news articles about the blog about The Racer Nanocoaster. https://www.wcpo.com/money/consumer/dont-waste-your-money/you-can-buy-a-piece-of-kings-islands-racer-roller-coaster?fbclid=IwAR142jpocirToLFBEpNh8pY7ZowcKzxUxjhMMiFM_0-zg-6SxPJdS1C9x6o&mibextid=FrZHod&fs=e&s=cl I said what I said and meant what I said.
  15. The park draws the crowds to which it markets. Discounts, BAF, payment plans. All of which bring in larger crowds while marketing to the lowest common denominator. Fortunately, I think the problem for the most part has gotten better in the past two years.
  16. https://spectrumnews1.com/oh/columbus/entertainment/2022/07/13/twin-actors-starring-in-kings-island-s--off-the-rails-- I’m surprised this story wasn’t picked up earlier and by a bigger outlet. Anyway, A+ show, A+ performers, hands-down the best seasonal show I’ve seen in that venue. If you haven’t seen it then you are only cheating yourself.
  17. What do you do when the sh-t hits the fan? Find out with the latest episode of The Attractions Group Podcast! https://attractionsgrouppodcast.podbean.com
  18. I just went back to the WWC overlook. There is no sign saying the blasters are coming back.
  19. Oh, snap! That would actually be cool, but would also probably be the end of the concert series.
  20. Dear lord. I didn’t see that. To confirm, I looked at the original text message and the link does take you to the concert series list that is NOT included with park admission. By the way, I believe that these texts are NOT sent from someone in the park.
  21. You know me too well.
  22. Right. Having worked in fast food when I was a teen, something my manager once told has stuck with me for life. She said that it was important to keep the lobby extra clean because if the places where the customers can see aren’t clean, just imagine what the customers will think the areas they can’t see look like. It’s sad but true. Imaginations run wild. That’s why I think they should just remove the sanitizer stations they don’t need. It’s possible that people would assume that if their sanitizer stations are empty, the ones in the kitchen must be empty too. That’s also one of the reasons why I was so against the ride ops having play time on the microphones on the rides. Aside from it being annoying, who’s to say that the people in line wouldn’t think that the ride ops aren’t very well trained since they are more concerned with goofing off than operating the ride. In their defense, this problem has gotten a lot better. None of this is a true referendum on the park. But perception is reality when it comes to reputation. This is all nit picky. We are fortunate to have one of the most well-run parks in the country.
  23. I wish they would remove all of the hand sanitizer stations except at crucial points, like at the exits of rides. It does seem like a lot of them are empty. When you visit several and they are empty it makes the park seem unfairly negligent. I would have them at important locations and just make it a small but reasonable part of the routine to refill them.
  24. I've gotten four text messages from the park's text communication system. Please see below: Look at text number three. It sends me a link implying that I can check to see if I have Pass Perks available. The link takes you to the Pass Perks splash page informing me that if I have any, they'd email me. Then why did I get the text? Am I missing something?
  25. I wonder if the nano comes pre-built and presented the way it does in the picture.
