  1. I read that as, don’t expect a VIP lounge at Michigan’s Adventure.
  2. Right. The problem is they also didn’t specifically say that they weren’t valid at other parks. Plus they did work. If I recall, the VIP tent people said that our passes weren’t scanning but they should work. It wasn’t a, “I’ll let you in anyway” thing. The Guest Services people said definitively that they do work. Regardless of the wording on the web site, that’s a pretty big thing to walk back.
  3. Since Cedar Point’s VIP Lounge is a sweltering hot tent, I really only care about the FOTL passes there. Preferred parking would be nice, but I’m not even sure that KI’s will be viable now that it is a perk. On that note, for those who have purchased, do NOT accept any park to adding a “while supplies last” caveat to things like Preferred parking or the VIP lounge. This isn’t Gold Pass benefits. These are benefits you paid for. You should expect to have these benefits every time without question.
  4. It was taken at the shop (Coaster Connection?) by Drop Tower. It was taken on Friday evening and posted to this site immediately. I’d be shocked if they sold out.
  5. Did the benefits work, or just admission? This was posted by Jim in the SP group who works at the park. He says the benefits are not good at the other CF parks; however, this is contrary to my and others’ experiences. Pulling the benefits would be a heck of a backpedal.
  6. I miss the old Italian Job days when, “Singles will be paired.”
  7. By “in house” I mean original songs, character development, etc. My understanding is that the development was very much on the corporate side as well, not necessarily developed solely by KI.
  8. There are two aspects of significance to the popularity of PTE: 1. Let’s get this out of the way: we can hope and pray that this put a worm in whomever’s ear about the ride’s return. 2. The public reacts very positively to in-house developed shows. There’s nothing wrong with the “Tappin’ Along to the 60’s-ish” shows we’ve had, but Cedar Fair has the means, Kings Island has the talent, and the audience has the capacity for much, much more. Blasphemy. In all seriousness, I feel like that show was terribly underrated and unfairly sat in PTE’s shadow. That was the best daytime show I’d ever seen in that theater by a long shot. Those are two shows that were higher budget, developed in-house, went over very well, and packed the seats. We can be next level from here on out or go back to the status quo. Your move, Cedar Fair.
  9. They’re gone now, but as late as last year they were on some. In 2020 and 2021 they had them on almost all of them. They even had it live for a bit at the Festhaus. The receipt is still loaded into my KI app from when I used it.

  11. The scrims as well as the signage, even the stuff on the stage, are replicas of the original but were not the physical ones in the ride. More impressively, you are correct about all of the other stuff. That’s all original.
  12. I haven’t heard about Urgent Scare being dismantled; however, I wouldn’t hold your breath for its return. Many could find it distasteful given the past few years.
  13. It wasn’t. But it also wasn’t stated that they weren’t available. Platinum Pass benefits are good at all parks that have Gold Pass benefits. It’s a reasonable assumption that this is the same way. Plus, it’s not so much they didn’t know what they were doing so I got the benefits. I was told by the Guest Services associate that the benefits were good. I was also able to use them. To back pedal after that would be highly unethical.
  14. There was snow. Right now it’s only at the park entrance.
  15. I agree. Honestly, I’ve had a very good experience with the Prestige Pass+ so far, both at Kings Island and Cedar Point. The price I paid, almost $400, was justified by assuming I’d have the added benefits at all of the parks. Granted, the Kings Island benefits are by far the most valuable to me, but I still feel like if they pull back on the benefits at the other parks then it will still feel a little like I was sold a bill of goods. Knowing that this is a new program, I still have the following questions: 1. Do I get the Prestige perks at all of the parks? I understand the most parks don’t have a VIP lounge, but front of the line? Preferred parking? How, in the name of whatever god you believe in, was this not discussed, clarified, and finalized before the passes went on sale? 2. If my perks aren’t good at other parks why I able to use them at Cedar Point? Are you going to take that away at this point? 3. Why were (presumably) hundreds of thousands of emails sent out offering a immediate upgrade to Prestige without the employees knowing? The first girl we spoke to at CP hadn’t even heard of the pass. Why was this not prioritized? 4. How many Prestige passes are you going to sell? Preferred parking is limited. Heck it was nearly full yesterday. Did I pay for a perk that can only be used if you get there at 9:30 a.m.? Are you going to continue to sell Preferred Parking? If so, why are you selling someone else a parking spot that I already paid for? Same goes with VIP Lounge. Will that be expanded to meet demand? I think that all of these questions are, like, day one things that should have been addressed. I do not believe that this being a new program is reasoning for none of this information to have been secure. From what it appears, the demand looks to be pretty high. I think the next 12 months will be very telling as to whether Cedar Fair has created a tier of loyal Prestige Pass holders for 2024, or disgruntled Platinum Pass holders.

  20. Although I doubt we will see a new ride, I still believe that there is far, far more to KI’s 2023 story than Grand Carnivale, Haunt, and Winterfest.
  21. Grand Carnivale, Haunt and Winterfest! https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20220811005015/en/Cedar-Fair-Announces-Exciting-Capital-Plans-for-2023-Operating-Season?fbclid=IwAR0YcP-Ok-yHoDsbXQDHh6UO0KZgwOmYGO10ptSY-H8Qb1SqFEpg34MzZwc&fs=e&s=cl
